Chapter 2: Summons
POV: Kirie Kotomine
Kirie Kotomine, in the dark and cold basement, stared intently at the summoning circle. Following the orders of his master, Tokiomi Tohsaka, he was in the process of summoning Servants. At this moment, conflicting emotions surged within him. Born as a flawed and defective individual, he had never been able to enjoy the things that others found joy in. But perhaps, just perhaps, the Holy Grail could complete him.
He clenched his fist and began to recite the summoning chant aloud. The summoning circle gradually became brighter as he continued the chant with all his being:
"Seventh heaven, cloaked in the great words of power,
From the bound circle, the guardian of the scales,
If you heed my call, respond."
At that moment, the basement began to freeze, and a powerful presence emerged in the summoning circle. Kirie looked at this being in astonishment.
POV: Ragna
Ragna, as the Assassin, responded to the summoning. Initially, he was surprised that Kirie Kotomine, with his dark history, had summoned him. In the Fourth Holy Grail War, Kirie was not yet corrupted, and if Ragna didn't have high morals, he would have killed him on the spot. Ragna had absolute resistance to magic and didn't require much magical energy. Therefore, for now, he was focused on Kirie. If he were to become the future version of himself, he would kill him without hesitation.
POV: Kirie Kotomine
Kirie said in a cold, dry voice, "I'm pleased to meet you, Assassin."
Ragna replied with a fake smile, "Likewise, Master."
Kirie was certain that he had summoned an extraordinarily powerful Servant. The presence that Ragna exuded sent shivers down Kirie's spine. He needed to be cautious, as this Servant could easily kill him.
Kirie asked with a feigned smile, "Assassin, may I see your stats?"
Ragna mimicked him and replied, "Of course."
Kirie checked Ragna's stats and froze:
Strength: A++
Endurance: A++
Agility: A+++
Magical Energy: E
Luck: EX
What the hell was this? These stats were absurdly strong. This Servant could fight divine spirits. Kirie became extremely worried. He needed to warn his master. This Servant could pose a significant obstacle to Tokiomi's goals.
While maintaining a fake smile, Kirie quietly said, "Assassin, you're truly powerful. With your help, I will surely win. Can you tell me your name? You seem to be the spirit of a famous hero."
Ragna smiled and replied, "My name is Ragna, Master. I'm not famous, just an ordinary swordsman."
Kirie thought to himself that even if someone beat him to death, he would never believe that Ragna wasn't the spirit of a famous hero. He must have a pseudonym. Kirie decided he needed to find Ragna's records; if he had a weakness, it could work to his advantage. With a cold smile, he said to Ragna, "Assassin, let's go meet my master and ally. But it's better if you take on your spirit form."
Ragna's appearance and attire were truly stunning. He wore a black shirt, lightweight boots, and a long silver cloak with a high collar that gave him a distinctive look.
Ragna, with a cold smile, said, "Whatever you say."
Kirie watched as Ragna transformed into his spirit form and ascended the stairs to exit the basement. He headed towards Tokiomi Tohsaka's mansion and knocked on the door. Kirie didn't have to wait long, and after a few minutes, the door opened. Tokiomi Tohsaka greeted him with a warm smile, saying, "Welcome, Kirie. Come in."
Tokiomi Tohsaka's mansion conveyed a sense of aristocracy and grandeur to visitors. Kirie and Tokiomi ascended the stairs and reached Tokiomi's study. Tokiomi locked the door and looked eagerly at Kirie, saying, "The summoning was successful."
Kirie responded in his usual tone, "Yes, Master."
Tokiomi Tohsaka said happily, "So what are you waiting for? Show me the Servant."
Kirie listened to Tokiomi's words and said loudly, "Assassin, reveal yourself."
In the room, a blue light shone, and Ragna took form. His powerful presence was heavy and impactful for Tokiomi. His body was clearly affected, and sweat dripped from his forehead. Tokiomi stared at Ragna in astonishment and concern, feeling that this Servant was beyond what he had imagined.
Tokiomi Tohsaka gave a feigned smile and said, "My Assassin, I am Tokiomi Tohsaka. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Ragna imitated Tosaka Tokiomi and said: Me too.
Tokiomi Tohsaka looked at Kirie and said, "Kirie, I'm really glad you summoned an extraordinary Servant."
Kirie turned to Ragna and said, "Assassin, go explore the city. Get familiar with the area, and if you can gather information about the Masters and Servants, that would be great."
Ragna, with his eyes shining with excitement, replied, "As you wish."
Ragna transformed into his spirit form and left until Kirie and Tokiomi were sure he was gone, allowing them to breathe a sigh of relief.
Tokiomi Tohsaka, with sweat on his forehead, said, "Kirie, what are the stats of the Assassin?"
Kirie replied, "All of the Assassin's attributes are above A except for magical energy. This Servant is very dangerous."
Tokiomi Tohsaka was astonished by the overwhelming power of the Assassin.
Tokiomi Tohsaka, with a helpless smile, said, "The Assassin is a strong card, but just as dangerous."
