Chapter 75: Let's Help Some Too
The members of the Fairy Tail guild stood silently in front of the broken remnants of their guild.
The Fairy Tail guild had already been heavily damaged during Gajeel's attack, but the clash between Su Yan and Jose had shaken the entire Magnolia Town. The guild had been completely destroyed in the chaos.
"Our guild…"
The silence was heavy as everyone stared at the ruins of their once-proud guild. This place wasn't just a building to them—it held countless memories and deep emotional ties.
For many, especially those who had grown up in Fairy Tail, this guild had been their only home. It had sheltered them during their darkest times, offering warmth and family in a harsh world.
Even for Su Yan, as a traveler from another world, Fairy Tail had become his refuge. Though he knew the story from the anime, living in this world had been a completely different experience. Its people, its creatures, its very environment had been foreign and overwhelming. Fairy Tail was the only place that felt familiar, the only place that gave him a sense of warmth and belonging.
There were people who cared about him, and people he cared about. To protect all of it, he had worked hard to become stronger—despite the system being so frustratingly lazy.
Seeing the gloom settling over everyone, Makarov stepped forward and smiled warmly. "The guild is not a building or a form—it's the bond between us. As long as that bond isn't broken, the guild will never truly disappear. So cheer up! Starting tomorrow, we'll build a new guild together."
"Oooooh!"
A Week Later
"Urgh… Heavy… Too heavy!"
Natsu trudged forward, sweating profusely, as he carried a dozen long logs on his back. Each step was a struggle, his face red with effort.
It had been a week since the Fairy Tail guild was destroyed. The ruins had been cleared, and the rebuilding process was well underway.
President Makarov had decided to build a larger, more luxurious guild. The old guild had served them well but had become too cramped for their growing membership. With Fairy Tail's rising fame, more and more wizards were joining their ranks, and the old guild simply wasn't sufficient anymore.
Additionally, Makarov had been inspired after seeing the Phantom Lord guild's impressive, castle-like structure. If Phantom Lord could have such an extravagant headquarters, then Fairy Tail couldn't lag behind. After all, a guild's building was like its face—much like a company needing a stylish office to attract clients.
Meanwhile, the Magic Council had quickly responded after the battle. Troops from the Fiore branch had arrived and taken the Phantom Lord members into custody. Jose himself was sent to the Magic Council's headquarters and imprisoned. His actions had caused immense destruction and left a terrible impression.
Given the severity of the situation, and with no lives lost thanks to Su Yan, it was highly likely that Jose would face a death sentence. At the very least, he would spend the rest of his life in prison.
Gray smirked as he lightly carried a single log. Looking at Natsu, he teased, "Who told you to bite off more than you could chew, idiot?"
Natsu shot back, grinning defiantly, "Haha! That's just because you're weak. This is nothing for me!"
"Oh yeah? If I wanted to, I could carry twice as much as you!" Gray retorted.
With that, Gray loaded up twice the amount of logs as Natsu and began to walk forward. His steps were slow and wobbly, but he refused to back down. "How's… this… for strong?" he grunted.
Suddenly, heavy footsteps echoed nearby. Everyone turned to see Su Yan carrying twice as much wood as Gray—effortlessly. He walked past them, the massive logs balanced easily in both hands, as if he were carrying nothing heavier than a plate.
Both Natsu and Gray froze, staring in stunned silence. Their jaws dropped.
"That's insane…" Natsu muttered. "This guy could punch a train into pieces, and now this?!"
Distracted, Gray lost his balance, and the logs he was carrying toppled over with a loud crash.
"Waaaaaah!" Gray screamed as he was buried under the pile of wood.
Natsu burst out laughing. "What a loser! Right, Happy?"
"Love!" Happy chirped.
"Hey!" Erza's commanding voice rang out, snapping everyone to attention. She stood nearby, wearing simple work clothes and a hard hat, her expression stern. "Stop fooling around and get back to work! We need to finish rebuilding the guild as soon as possible. And Natsu—Happy—if I catch you sneaking off on S-rank missions again, I'll break your legs."
"Love!" Natsu and Happy instantly stood at attention, saluting with wide-eyed fear.
Warren, who was pushing a trolley of materials, shook his head and muttered, "Erza's really going all out."
Mira smiled gently and replied, "She feels guilty for not being here when the guild was attacked. That's why she's working harder than anyone else now."
Erza was rarely in the guild for long. As a task-driven wizard with expensive tastes—constantly purchasing new armors and outfits—she was almost always on missions. It was rare for her to stay still for any length of time.
When Natsu and Happy had stolen that S-rank mission, Erza had been out on another job. By the time she returned, the guild was already in ruins, and the battle was over. Su Yan had ended things so quickly that she'd barely made it back in time to scold everyone involved.
Meanwhile, some of the other guild members, watching the chaos from the sidelines, exchanged sheepish looks.
"Well… I guess we didn't do much to help, did we?"
"Yeah, Su Yan kind of handled everything himself…"
When the guild had been in danger, Su Yan had singlehandedly blocked the massive magic beam cannon, Jupiter, that was aimed at the guild. Then, before anyone else could even join the battle, he had defeated Gajeel, the Four Ghosts, and Jose himself, turning the Phantom Lord guild into rubble.
His strength had been overwhelming.
The lazy onlookers sighed.
"Well… I guess we can at least help with the rebuilding," one of them said, scratching his head.
"Yeah… Let's do our bit too."
