Fairy Tail: Strongest Creature

Chapter 76: You're Enough

Fiore Magic Council Branch

"Whirring whirring--!"

"Whirring whirring..."

In the trial hall, Makarov stood on the trial platform and began to sleep soundly. Soft snores echoed through the chamber.

Many of the magical officials present were equally enraged. This was the place of divine judgment, yet here was someone being judged sleeping so soundly. It was as if he didn't take the trial seriously at all.

"Makarov 'Sir?"

"Yes!" Makarov woke up with a start.

"The trial is going on. Did you just fall asleep?"

After hearing this, Makarov's eyes fluttered, and he scratched his head with an embarrassed expression. So they had noticed.

Soon, the sentence was pronounced.

"The dissolution of Phantom Lord and the removal of Jose from the Holy Ten are as expected, but I didn't expect Fairy Tail to be found not guilty." Makarov was a little surprised. After all, Fairy Tail did fight back and their revenge was quite...forceful.

"Mainly to appease you and Su Yan, and also to maintain the stability of the magic world," Yakima said.

This time, Su Yan had made a big fuss, completely shocking the Magic Council. They hadn't expected that mages could be so powerful.

In addition, the main responsibility for this incident indeed fell on Phantom Lord's side. Acting as a favor, the Council acquitted Fairy Tail.

"Yakima, thank you for your hard work. When the guild is fully re-established, I invite you to come and visit."

"Makky, the children in the guild have grown up. Listen to my advice and retire quickly, or your current body will be overwhelmed."

"Well, I'll think about it."

"Everyone! From today onwards, work assignments are resumed. Although it's a temporary information desk, everyone should work actively!!"

Mira stood in front of the temporary workbench and shouted to boost morale.

"Tender tender tender tender!!"

"There's a job! There's a job--!"

Many rushed to the task board to search for commissions they could handle.

"What are you doing? Usually, you look so laid back while drinking," Lucy said leisurely.

"Hahaha!" Mira laughed when she heard it. Fairy Tail was indeed exactly as Lucy said.

The Fairy Tail guild had been destroyed, and commission acceptance had to be suspended. To save on rebuilding costs, everyone in the guild helped with construction.

But building the guild was boring and tedious. It was okay for a day or two, but doing it continuously for ten days straight was too much for these freedom-loving mages. They couldn't stand it for very long.

The main part of the guild was now complete, and the rest would be built slowly.

Suddenly, "Bang!"

A table was overturned, startling Lucy.

"You try that again!!"

Erza's roar rang out. Fairy Tail members immediately quieted down and looked over nervously. They had never seen Erza this angry inside the guild. What had happened?

Laxus sat across from Erza with a grim smile: "Then make it clear now—our guild doesn't need weaklings."

"Laxus is back?" Happy was a little surprised. Laxus rarely appeared in the guild over the last few years, though recently he'd shown up more often.

While not exactly a task maniac, Laxus was diligent about taking on missions. A few years ago, when Laxus was on the first floor as a non–S-class mage, though a bit arrogant, he still interacted more with the members.

In recent years, however, even when returning to the guild, it seemed he wanted to distance himself and appear superior. He would stay on the second floor, accessible only to S-class mages. His attitude had grown more and more arrogant, making him very difficult to get along with. He didn't intend to have friendly relations with others in the guild, only maintaining close ties with his personal guard, the Thunder God Tribe.

"This b*****d, he's being arrogant as soon as he comes back," Gray said, displeased with Laxus's perpetual arrogance.

"Laxus, the S-class mage like Su Yan and Erza?!" Lucy recalled seeing Laxus on the second floor before the Galuna Island mission. Even then, he gave the impression of being very hard to get along with.

"You…" Mira started, trying to calm the situation.

"Look at this guild," Laxus sneered. "This is the famous Fairy Tail? There are so many people, yet Gajeel destroyed it. Isn't that shameful? I'm embarrassed to go out on the street after ghosts like Phantom Lord looked down on us."

"Everyone was not in the guild at that time," Mira said.

"Is that the main reason? It's because you're all so trashy that the ghosts dared to look down on Fairy Tail and attack the guild in the first place. The guild was destroyed! How are you not ashamed to stay here?"

Suddenly, Su Yan's voice rang out: "That's enough, Laxus."

"Keh! Isn't this the great hero Su Yan who turned the tide and saved the guild?! Even a top Holy Ten Wizard Saint was defeated—truly amazing!"

Su Yan frowned and said, "Don't mock me. No one in the guild owes you anything. Show some respect."

Laxus's face darkened at Su Yan's words. "Su Yan, don't think that just because you defeated Jose—one of the Holy Ten—you can defeat me. Jose was just trash. I could've beaten him easily."

"So what?" Su Yan replied.

"So what? I want you to know not to be too arrogant. I'm the strongest wizard in the Fairy Tail guild!!"

"You can be the strongest if you like," Su Yan said calmly. "I'm not interested in titles. I just want to remind you that Fairy Tail belongs to everyone, not just you. Everyone in the guild is a companion."

"Companions? I have no interest in becoming companions with the weak," Laxus snapped. "Only the strong are qualified to be my companions!!

"If I inherit the guild, all you weaklings will be gone, and any who dare resist me will be kicked out.

"I want to build the strongest guild!! The strongest guild in history that surpasses any other!!"
