Fairy Tail: I Can Hear Everything With My Unique Skill

Chapter 28: This is free of charge

With Akira placing the flames on the furnace Kelvin began to work. To melt this ore just having these flames is not enough.

The blacksmith has to periodically add some other ingredients to separate the impurities. Fortunately, Kelvin has enough experience dealing with such things.

After an hour of grueling process, they finally managed to melt the Orichalcum into a liquid.

Seeing their success Kelvin couldn't help but shed a few tears. He never thought he would be able to finish their family mission this lifetime.

He then turned to Akira and had the urge to give this child a big hug. But he restrained himself as that would be considered rude for his benefactor.

As Kelvin wondered what he should do to reward this kid he saw that Akira had a small blade strapped to his waist.

This gave him a very good idea. But for now, he had to make some preparations first. So the reward has to wait for later.

Had Akira listened to his thoughts at this moment he would have wondered whether he was in an illusion as the reward he was about to get is something he didn't even dream of. But unfortunately, he had no idea of this as he was busy being fascinated by how Orichalcum was being melted.

He was a very curious person and he always had an interest in blacksmithing. So he was busy analyzing what was happening to the smallest detail. Why did the metal need such conditions to melt? What do those side ingredients do when they come in contact with the Orichalcum?

Akira like every other boy his age( with his past life included) had the dream of making a super cool sword from a legendary metal. So he was fully concentrated on this to memorize the process completely.

Who knows maybe in the future he could get his hand on some Orichalcum by himself. So at that time, he would definitely be able to make a cool sword by himself.

Unfortunately, Akira was about to get disappointed as Kelvin had no reason to make a sword for now. Yes, he melted the ore but that doesn't necessarily mean he had to forge a sword. After all, he can't just make a random sword out of it and place it on the counter waiting for a suitable swordsman to buy it.

And besides even if some guy had enough money to buy it would Kelvin really sell it to a random nobody? This sword is going to be the best sword Kelvin could ever make in his whole lifetime so he would never let be wielded by a nobody who may die becuse of a random bandit.

No as a blacksmith Kelvin wanted the wielder of this blade to be a talented person who would bring glory to him and the blade itself. So this is why Kelvin decided to just melt the Orichalcum into a cube and wait for such a person to appear and make his custom sword.

He is sure he doesn't need to wait long as he is betting on someone already. If his gut instincts are right then the day he has to make this custom-made sword is just a few years away.

"Are you sure this is alright? " Akira asked as he looked at Kelvin who had a smile on his face.

"It's fine think of it as a bonus for doing a great job, " Kelvin said laughing while hitting Akira's back repeatedly.

"Well if you insist then it would be rude for me to say no " Akira said gratefully as he accepted the Mithril dagger that Kelvin gifted him.

Yes, Kelvin in addition to the reward money gave him a Mithril dagger as a bonus for successfully helping him melt the Orichalcum ore.

Although Akira wasn't much of a dagger user he had some uses for this Mithril dagger. Mithril has some excellent mana conductivity so he can use this to carve runes on magic tools. And what's more, Akira also knows a secret technique to sharpen a Mithril blade with magic.

This would definitely allow him and Sera to process some monster materials that are very hard to process with a steel knife.

After saying his goodbyes to Kelvin Akira hummed a tune as he walked back to the guild. He was in a very good mood. Not only did he finish his first ever mission he even got a good dagger as a present.

'I can't wait to brag about this to Laxus, I'm sure he would be very jealous 'Akira thought with a chuckle.

As Akira was grinning about about this he suddenly heard the sound of bells ringing all over Magnolia.

' hmm, why are these bells ringing at a time like now? ' Akira wondered but he suddenly opened his eyes wide as he remembered something ' Wait if these bells are ringing that means… '

Just as Akira expected the announcement rang out in all of Magnolia, " Dear citizens Magnolia will begin Gildart mode shortly please don't panic and take your designated seats.

I repeat Magnolia will begin Gildart mode shortly please don't panic and take your designated seats " In the sky, there was something flying over. If Akira had to give a description he would say it was a horn that had two wings.

"Oh, the Uncle of Destruction is back huh " Akira had a wide smile as he heard the announcement. In his past life, he had read many forums having deep discussions about Gildarts. Some say that he is a calamity that is a nightmare for insurance companies while some say that he is a god for construction workers.

There was even a joke saying that if you somehow cannot be a wizard you can be a construction worker and live a life without ever worrying about work.

"Well anyway, I should get to the guild immediately. I don't want to miss meeting Gildarts " Akira mumbled as a pair of wings made out of light magic appeared on his back. With a flap of his wings, he went to the skies.

Usually, if someone were to fly in such a flashy manner the residents may clamor to take a look at him or her but unfortunately, the residents of Magnolia are busy packing up and running for shelter to care about such things. If they wait even for a second their houses may be destroyed before they know it.

"Wow although I heard it was impressive from the fanfiction I never thought Gildart mode this awesome " Akira marveled as he looked at the Magnolia city rearranging itself to make a clear path for Gildarts. While in the air, he could get a very good look at the whole process.

" And damn that uncle is scary " Akira muttered as he looked at the far corner where Gildarts is starting his walk. Even from here, Akira could feel the abnormal amount of magic power in him.

For a moment Akira even doubted whether Gildart was a human. If he practised Dragon Slayer Magic then Gildart would have no problem completing that Centuary Quest. And that too without even mastering dragon force.

" Hmm since Gildart is here I wonder whether Cana has already arrived at Fairy Tail " Akira mumbled as he rushed toward the guild. All he knew was that Gildart and met Cana for the first time when she was five or six.

And with Gildarts habit of traveling, he usually should come to the guild once a year or two. So Akira guessed Cana might have started her journey or is already at the guild. If it was neither then it is fine too.

If possible Akira would really want to find out where Cana and her mother lived so he could cure Cana's mother. He was very interested seeing Gildarts future nightlife with his wife looking after him.

Would he still sleep with any girl who throws herself at him like in the original or would be a doting husband just like how he was a doting father for Cana?
