Chapter 15: Chapter 15:Apostle Sacroderm.
Under the sky covered with dark clouds and dropping a drop of water every few minutes, a battle without quarter or mercy is taking place between two great sides.
"Kill them! Kill them all!"
Finishing cutting off his opponent's head, he raises his blood-red sword towards the rainy sky and shouts at the top of his lungs towards his fellow soldiers.
"By Leynd...Aghh!"
His shout is cut short as he feels a blunt weapon impact against his brass shield, causing his left arm to deform from the impact, but that doesn't seem to matter to him and with one motion he slices his opponent's head in half.
*Roar*.
Letting out an angry roar as he covers his face with his left hand, a troll finds himself surrounded by about 10 soldiers working as a team to take him down. Four carry crossbows to shoot at his eyes, two carry swords to throw him to the ground, and the rest function as a distraction.
"The chains. Catch him with the chains!"
"Chain squad!"
Appearing from somewhere unknown, a group of about twenty people run towards the contained troll and quickly assemble a large crossbow, then connect a chain to the bolt, thus finally firing.
*Boom*
"He 's down!"
"By Leyndell!"
While this group was basking in their victory, the second troll attack team wasn't doing so well. It seems they had failed to stop the troll before it drew its sword, from there it all went downhill for them.
"Shields! Shields ahead!"
Following his order a group of four soldiers quickly put their shields up, only thanks to their quick reaction they were saved from being split in half, but the force of the troll sword strike sent them flying.
The bent limbs of the soldiers slowly return to their normal place, although the troll doesn't waste that moment of recovery and starts running towards them.
"Damn animal!"
Speaking with an extremely cold voice that pierced even the powerful noise of the surroundings, Lhutel, who was without a helmet and with his black hair dancing in the air, threw his spear at the troll.
It was an astonishing shot, making it through some fifty meters easily and hitting right into the enemy troll's leg. From the place of impact, a strange black-golden flame begins to spread and the entire troll's leg is drained of life, sending it to the ground in moments.
"Captain Lhutel!"
Without even turning around, Lhutel unsheathes the longsword at her waist and the blade of it quickly bathes in golden-black flame, then slashes backwards. The sword doesn't pierce anything, but the flames spread in the direction of his slash and take the lives of a few enemies.
"Keep that troll under control!"
"Yes captain!"
The situation here seemed to have calmed down, but all across the battlefield the frenzy of blood and flesh still continues. It was no longer clear who was crazier, the troops who do not fear death or those who do not know what this means.
Everything was in chaos and the more time passes, the worse it gets, although there is always an exception and this is in the vicinity of the corpse of the digging troll. No one seems to want to go near there and the reason is a young man resting peacefully.
...Aldrich pov...
"This is...too easy. They are no different than the scattered sand and the troops are rushing through them."
Immersed in my thoughts that are spoken aloud, I notice a strange current of energy and quickly lifting my face. What is reflected in my eyes, is how at the entrance of the road to the village, a magic symbol appears in black flames.
"He lured us in by positioning his forces as if they were idiots, plus he made sure we sent in all our troops by sacrificing some trolls as bait."
Forming a line of simple events in my mind, I focus my gaze in that direction and as if in response, from the magic circle a figure emerges. His height was easily over two meters, he wears clothing that appears to be made of white skins sewn together and has a weapon that resembles a sickle fused with a spiral awl.
Having just stepped completely out of the magic circle, the sacroderm apostle brings his hand to his chest and it begins to burn in furious black flames, then shoots those flames skyward.
*Booooom!
Obviously what he just did was a signal to his troops, but we cannot forget its less visible and far more dangerous effect. What I'm talking about is the flames that have fallen on the road, now we seem to be locked in here with them.
Ignoring the flames that have now completely covered the only exit, the enemy troops that were about to break begin to retreat backwards, only to meet up with the large number of troops that are now beginning to appear.
"Reorganize the formation! Focus only on those coming from the front!"
Noticing that Lhutel reacts quickly and begins to impose order among the troops, he lifted my body from the corpse he was using as a chair, then ignoring everything else and running towards the sacroderm apostle.
It was only for a few seconds that Lhutel and my gazes met, but it was more than enough for us to divide the work. She will take care of the basic troops ahead and in the meantime I will take care of the one who is obviously the head of the snake.
"Inventory:Silurian Tree Spear."
Making my two curved swords disappear and taking a spear from my inventory, I appear in a few seconds in front of the sacroderm apostle, without letting even him notice.
Taking advantage of the clear surprise conveyed by his whole body, I firmly rest my feet on the ground and activate the unique war ash that carries this spear.
"Weight of Siluria."
All my words were swallowed by the pressure of the wind generated from the spear, proving that what is coming is no small attack.
He sacroderm apostle also noticed this fact, but instead of trying to stop the attack, he made all his bones in his upper body go limp and thus avoided the war ash that was going straight towards his chest.
*Booom!
It was amazing the way he dodged my attack, but the physical attack was merely an add-on, what was really dangerous is the wind generated by the war ash and just that is what ate the sacrodermic apostle head on.
"Not even a wound? It only served to send him away. Inventory:Horned Bow and Bewitched Arrow."
Letting my spear disappear into golden particles, I grabbed the bow just generated from those same particles and knelt on the ground with the bow pointed skyward.
"Rain of arrows!"
Releasing the taut bowstring, a single arrow bathed in a touch of pale blue quickly shoots out into the cloud-covered sky. After reaching a height of 40 meters in a few moments, that arrow transforms into 30 exact copies and moves towards the sacroderm apostle.
He looked quite similar to a hedgehog after the arrows finished falling on him, but that was only the beginning, as it was arrows imbued with magic that I had shot.
"No reaction... What a monster. Inventory:Urumi Whip."
Switching weapons again, so as to check how effective the "Handling All Weapons" skill I seem to have mastered is, I notice how he stands back up as if nothing happened.
"Second round."
