Elden Ring:After the end

Chapter 14: Chapter 14:Attack and defense in dominula 4

The pale clouds that once covered the entire sky begin to take on dark hues and a damp wind begins to sweep across everything under the sky.

A storm is approaching, but this weather does not seem to make the two armies facing each other down there waver. The first was clearly more orderly, either by its standard equipment or by its use of a formation such that (-_-_-_-_-_-) spearmen in front and crossbowmen behind.

Meanwhile the other army was a more varied group, both in their formation, which was which dispersed arena, and their equipment which were various blunt weapons. If there is something to highlight of them, surely they are the three great war machines called trolls and their great war potential.

*Tuuuu

A trumpet sounds from the orderly and completely human side, causing the crossbowmen of the front line to raise their crossbows into the air. After that highly coordinated action by the troops, they all stand still in anticipation.

"Aim... Fire!"

Despite being positioned in the middle of the army, Lhutel neutral voice carries through every corner and the troops follow her orders like a well-oiled machine.

The crossbow bolts take flight and hit the enemy troops that have advanced to the firing zone, but it does not end there, as then the second line of crossbowmen open fire and then the third. It was a tactic used so that there would never be time-outs during the firing, making the danger always exist for the adversaries.

"You seem to have everything under control around here."

"They are merely cannon fodder we have eliminated, most likely just a tentative attack."

Responding to Aldrich who has just arrived, Lhutel makes his point and it seems likely considering the few casualties the enemies have suffered.

*ROAR* *ROAR* *ROAR* *ROAR!"

Calling a halt to the warm-up, the trolls behind enemy lines let out a mighty roar and take anything they can throw towards the human side.

...Aldrich pov…

It was truly a visual impact to see how those huge trolls, easily six meters long, throw trees and rocks as if they were normal pebbles. Another surprising thing was that all the enemies are women, if in fact they are crazy skin peelers.

"Great lightning spear."

Raising my right hand in which the gravel seal is located, quickly in my hand a long lightning spear is formed. It easily exceeds five feet in length, making it perfect to throw towards someone or something.

With those stupid considerations in mind, I watch as large boulders, huge trees and enemy corpses are hurled this way.

Obviously my spear is not just for show, so in one throwing motion, it shoots out from my hand and in the air it seems to multiply to over thirty that with ease destroy everything in its path.

"Gwyn would be proud of my performance."

This enchantment did not belong to the Midlands, but comes from another place and belongs to the so-called miracles of the sun god Gwyn "The First Lord".

How did this "Miracle" come into my hands? Just like all enchantments and magics, by pure luck. I basically just try to remember magics and enchantments, making my brain show me everything that falls into that category.

"May I ask who Gwyn is, my lord?"

"Someone who followed his ideals to the bitter end, making them endure beyond his death... Even if it was in a forced way."

Gwyn was someone complicated, but this was no time to get carried away with such things. Erasing my thoughts of Gwyn, I keep my hand static in the sky and release other area-of-effect incantations.

"Golden oath. Gift of the blessing. Protection of the Golden Tree."

In only a few moments a wave of warm golden light sweeps through the entire allied army and when it is reduced, all the troops seem to have been injected by pure adrenaline.

"First line advance! Second line disperse! Third line diversionary fire!"

Lhutel orders swept across the battlefield, causing the first line which was shielded spearmen to advance, the second composed of shield and longsword infantry to disperse, while the third line of crossbowmen distract the trolls.

"I don't think it's necessary here, so I'm going to take care of the digger."

"Understood my lord. I'll take this side."

Accepting the stiff words of Lhutel who has already gone into his soldier mode, I get off the horse I've been riding and make him run backwards from a blow to his backside.

Without the horse to hinder my movements, I hit the ground and in an instant I reach the front line. Without even thinking I land on the shield of one of the soldiers, then I use that small support to jump towards the enemy lines and start using their heads as footholds.

*Roar!

A mighty roar comes from the digger troll in an attempt to intimidate me, but seeing that I don't stop my dangerous approach, it brings its head back and then lets out a wave of compressed air from its mouth.

"Two of us can do it!"

Withdrawing my curved sword from its scabbard with speed, I activate its war ash and a layer of powerful wind wraps around its blade, then sends that swirling wind towards the incoming attack.

*Boom*

From the point of contact between the two attacks, a great roaring sound was released to the surroundings, but that was not the worst of it, as the remains of the attacks shot out like sheets of compressed air, slicing and maiming more than one.

*Roar!*

Seeming quite angry at the result, the troll begins to advance towards my direction and thanks to its large size, in a few moments it is already in front of me. Without holding back the troll quickly slams his fist in my direction, forcing me to jump backwards and my previous foothold into a paste of meat.

"You're no better than an animal... Expected, but still disappointing."

Uninterested in hearing his roar again, I quickly climb onto his arm that still remains on the ground and move the curved blades smoothly across his skin.

Only small cuts are left on his skin, but they are like deep ravines, causing the troll's right arm to be knocked out of play when they connect with each other. This swordplay is "The Water Dance", the same one used by Malenia with her katana and used by her master to defeat the God of Rot.

"Not only can I use all weapons perfectly, but I can also use the handling of their previous owners."

It wasn't something I had only just now noticed, but this completely confirms it and assures me that I am an all-rounder in the realm of weapons. Feeling happy to have discovered something new, I lean on the troll's shoulder and being sure that there is no rationality in there, I easily cut its head off with a 360° turn.

Its body once full of life falls dry to the ground, raising a small cloud of dust and leaving everyone nearby in shock. Even beasts can recognize danger and it seems that these madmen can too.
