Elden Ring:After the end

Chapter 13: Chapter 13:Attack and defense in dominula 3

The darkest time of the day is not during dusk or when the moon rules, but the time just before the sun rises and illuminates the world.

This information applies in the Midlands as well, although the Golden Tree is a beacon of light in the darkness, but this day the clouds seem to be helping to cover it and its golden glow with it.

"Because it's the darkest time of the day, because that's when they let their guard down and because, blah, blah, blah. I don't understand Aldrich, it didn't matter what time I did it, it's not like they could do anything to me."

Flying through the dark and seemingly water-laden clouds, a huge dragon talks to himself in an incredibly feminine voice.

Giving up his many complaints, Lansseax who is in his true form, opens his four huge wings that seem to split the clouds in his path and his draconic body begins to swoop down.

*Roar!

Something primal seemed to awaken in Lansseax's body as he began his descent. Her pupils turn vertical, from all over her body small red rays start to emerge and the atmosphere around her changes to a more bastial one, and then she lets out another powerful roar.

*Roar!

Those who were under attack by Lansseax, had a slightly slower reaction than normal, but they still aimed all kinds of ranged weapons into the sky and opened fire towards such a natural disaster.

Everything was useless in the face of Lansseax's powerful scales, bolts, arrows and even shots from large crossbows were useless. Halting his descent by opening his two pairs of wings, Lansseax hovers above the village and his maw opens in what looks like a macabre grin, before a flare shoots out mercilessly.

"It hurts!"

"Kill me, just..."

"It burns! It burns!"

Even those who had lost their minds the most and had let their instincts control them, were rolling around on the floor in a vain attempt to put out the flames, before they were completely devoured by them.

Enjoying the work he had just created, Lansseax retracted his draconic neck back and again let out a powerful breath of fire. The breath was not directed at the screaming people below, but went straight to the structures, causing them to burn within moments.

"My part is done... Though maybe it's not enough fear to make them run into the trap."

Looking ready to leave as she sees the sun rise on the horizon, Lansseax looks down at the ants moving below and makes a decision that promises pain for those down there.

...Aldrich pov….

The dawn could be noticed on the horizon despite the thick clouds that try to cover the sky, while the temperature slowly begins to rise and the world begins to wake up for a new day.

We are currently outside the walls, the troops have already taken their neat marching formations and only one order is missing to start advancing.

"We are ready my lord."

Mounting an armored horse that has a rather abnormal size, Lhutel who is fully equipped, even with a helmet, positions herself next to me and tells me what I have already been able to notice.

"Raise the banner!"

In response to my words, a central man from each army raises a banner high and shines it in the dawn light.

Despite the precarious situation, the banner seems to shine flawless and pure, causing the Golden Tree stamped on it to glow golden. Yes, it was the classic banner of Leyndell's troops and the one I must change at some point.

"Soldiers... All forward!"

*Tuuuuu!

The noise of the trumpets generated by Lhutel's command was deafening, causing even the birds in the distance to fly away in fright and the troops to be injected with pure adrenaline.

With the synchronized movements of the marching troops, the rubbing of armor and the sheer vigor of the men, we set out for the objective location.

...Some time later...

After a short march lasting about two hours, we orderly planted the troops on the road leading to the village. This road is a funnel-like place, easy to defend and very difficult to attack, luckily we just have to wait for them to come out.

"We have had several contacts with straggling troops, mainly from those crazy skin-skinners."

Listening to Lhutel's words, he looked out of the command tent that was quickly set up on the ground and noticed the large plume of smoke in the distance.

"Lansseax is doing his job quite well, although it looks like he's been getting carried away... Good point, since they don't seem too interested in engaging us."

Turning away from looking at the large plumes of smoke that seem to be increasing every few moments, I turned my face towards Lhutel who positioned the chips on the map and stated the obvious.

Lhutel seemed ready to answer me, but just at that moment someone enters at full speed, it was a soldier and his pale face already tells what happened.

"Te, te. We have visual contact with the enemy army!"

"Inform yourself properly!"

"And, ye. yes ma'am!"

The aura of command coming from Lhutel quickly reassures the soldier, causing him to take a deep breath before speaking more clearly on the matter.

"Their numbers are close to five hundred fur skinners, they have equipment of the most varied and are advancing in a slow fashion. We also noticed two of the normal trolls carrying their ancient swords and one of the diggers."

It was a highly comprehensive report, from the estimated troop numbers, their armaments, defensive equipment and types of enemy units on the ground.

At the end of hearing his report, Lhutel dismisses him from the command tent and grabs his helmet from the top of the table, then grabs his long spear that is leaning against the side of the tent.

"I'll wait for him along with the troops."

"Understood, I'll just be a few moments."

We nodded to each other, only for Lhutel to then leave the tent and me to remain as the only one in here. The equipment that would accompany me on this occasion was a simple one, mainly the helmetless swordsman set and two curved fluvimorph swords.

"Fashion souls never die, they only get stronger with the passing of time".

Few people would understand those wise and natural words that have come from my lips, but it is an unalterable and inviolable truth, so I feel it both in body and soul.

Erasing those thoughts and sprucing up my appearance so as to leave a great impression when I act, which is very important if I want to secure their loyalty later, I quietly leave the store.
