Elden Ring:After the end

Chapter 16: Chapter 16:Apostle sacroderm 2

The sound of the surrounding atmosphere being cut can be heard in the distance, it was like a sword cut, but it carries a strange delicacy and beauty in its dancing noise.

It was a strange and exotic whip, it is its movements that create that friction as it cuts through the air, all because its blade is composed of hundreds or perhaps thousands of tiny sheets of flexible metal.

"The cuts are inefficient, I guess it lives up to its nickname as a god skin. Let's see how it performs against piercing attacks."

Analyzing the inefficiency of his cuts, the dirty blond haired young man retracts his whip back and the once flexible metal blades harden, making the tip of the whip now look like a piercing weapon.

Apparently the sacroderm apostle sensed the danger, causing him for the first time during the battle to go on the attack and his abilities are something to be reckoned with.

*Boom*

The clash between the powerful weapons of these two caused the ground beneath their feet to explode, literally so much was their force that the ground could not withstand and a light layer of dust rose into the air.

"Looks like I'm right, then this should work too. Inventory: Sword and electrify weaponry."

Speaking from within the dust cloud, the young man who is obviously Aldrich calmly switches weapons as he watches the apostle escape from there.

Finished with his preparation and holding aloft the huge sword-shaped piece of iron, Aldrich takes a step forward that shatters the ground beneath him and appears at the apostle's side.

*Boooom*

When that huge sword touched the ground, it easily created a crack of about five to ten meters completely charred inside, luckily the apostle managed to dodge and the next moment it shot a black flame forward.

Aldrich quickly parried the fireball by putting his rapier in front of himself, but the flame didn't explode, instead sticking to the blade and continuing to burn in an attempt to devour it.

"They don't stop... And it's been a few seconds already - just a minor little thing or an omen?"

Hesitating about something, Aldrich looks for a few moments at the strange combination between the golden rays and the black flames, but ending his hesitation, he increases the amount of energy and the rays consume the flames easily.

"You have served your purpose... Now it's time to finish this."

…Aldrich pov…

Waving my sword in a horizontal motion, quickly the apostle stops him with his weapon, but the force between us is different and easily dragged him back. Seeing that despite everything he has managed to stop my initial momentum, I increase the ferocity of the lightning and it begins to burn his armor.

"Mortal ignoramus... Ahhh!"

Speaking in a voice that I'm sure sounds unpleasant to any listener, the sacrodermic apostle lets out a scream and a wave of air filled with black flames throws me backwards.

It was obviously the "Noble Presence" technique, but its power was much stronger than normal and the effect of the black flames I had never seen before.

"Again... Tsk."

The strength within the black flames was obviously abnormal, they should barely burn for a few seconds normally. Stopping thinking about this problem that will clearly come back to bite me later, I stop my recoil by stabbing the rapier into the ground and raising my hand, I summon a lightning spear.

*Boom!*

When the incantation detonated, a large amount of lightning shot out and in a few seconds, made a mess of the surroundings. Among the lightning, you can see the apostle wounded in various amounts, but black flames begin to surge around him and heal him.

"It's over now... Just die."

…Lhutel pov…

I can easily hear the screams spreading over the entire battlefield, while limbs and crimson blood seem to dance in front of my eyes.

"First line falls back. Second line takes your place."

Raising my voice to be able to overcome the surrounding shouts, I quickly give one or another simple order that does not need to be explained. Noticing that little by little the formation is stabilizing, I fix my eyes on the main adversaries.

*Roar!*

Emerging from the enemy's back line are two trolls charging at full speed. The only good thing about the situation is that they are of the normal kind, who despite their size and strength are still beings of flesh.

"Crossbow teams!"

"All set!"

"Release the arrows!

Arrows of all shapes and sizes flew into the dark sky, causing the once ferocious troll to fall straight to the ground within seconds. A good amount of his troops were crushed by his body, adding to the ones he crushed during his run, he easily killed about 40 or 50.

"A breach has opened up!"

"Chain team! ahgg team!"

"Hit his legs, make him fall!"

Looking towards the source of the desperate cries, he quickly managed to grasp why they were being shouted. The second troll had made it through the defensive line, only to start making a mess of the troops on foot.

Their frail bodies were easily knocked aside, while the long swords were no better than a gnat's bite on the troll's flesh.

I can't watch any longer, there may still be one armored troll left unaccounted for and clearly he is the greatest danger, but if I do nothing the whole defensive line may collapse.

"Out of the way! Spectral Javelin!"

Giving a warning shout for the troops still there fighting, I took a step through the spirit world and arrived in front of the troll. It is tall, easily reaching 5 meters, its body is bony as if it has never eaten and has all the internal organs taken out.

Finishing a close analysis of my enemy, I begin to fluidly move my right hand and raise the spear to a proper stance. I point my weapon towards his decrepit face, before releasing it from my hands.

*roar*

Roaring skyward, tearing its face in a vain attempt to withdraw the spear and acting erratically, the troll's entire head is finally devoured by the necroblade's flames.

"Move the wounded to the center of the formation, those who can move back to their posts and everyone."

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

With every step he takes, the earth seemed to tremble, it was the last thing missing... The armored troll. The stone skin covering his body makes him immune to arrows, but that's not all, as he is bigger than the other two.

"S,s,s. Shields up!"

"Raise your spears!"

Despite the trembling that could be felt in their words, they quickly position themselves in front of the estimated arrival place of the furious troll. I was proud of them, but it's useless resistance despite my lord's blessings, in front of that thing they're nothing but small branches in the way.

*Roar!

The battlefield seemed to fall silent under such a fierce roar, to give way to a scene of the sky being opened and the descent of a majestic beast. It was Lansseax, who let out a deep dragon breath and incinerated everything below.

The crimson flames easily devour the skin flayers, the armored troll and burn everything on the ground. It was a full-blown natural disaster, easily overwhelming and underlining power.

"He's late, but he certainly knows how to make an entrance."

"My lord..."

Looking to my right and feeling the hot air hit my face, I can only blurt out a few words, before he begins to speak.

"Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, don't overthink it, Lhutel."

"Can you even compete with that?"

Sure I have my own pride, but the power demonstrated by Lansseax is overwhelming and it's what my lord needs most right now.

"Easy is to use your fist, but difficult is to control your mind. What I mean is that one person has a small effect, but who can command people can certainly bring about a greater change."

It is true, fist is not always the best choice, besides that only one person can't change everything.

"So am I better than her?"

"Ahem, let's sort all this out."
