Douluo Dalu 3 | Divine Destruction

Chapter 138: Hatred of the Progenitor

"What the— When did Dai'er become a Title Douluo?!" Rising from her seat, Cai Yue'er couldn't hide the disbelief in her face. She was the teacher of Dai'er and yet the Silver Moon Douluo had been completely unaware of such a massive event!

"You can ask her later. Focus on strengthening the barrier." A sense of supremacy ran through the sky at Yun Ming's command, the arena suddenly tripling in size and continuing to grow. The arena was already massive enough to be called a small city with all the space expanding technology pumped into it but now it was hard to call it anything but a proper city.

Yun Ming had the chance to see Dai'er's ninth ring only once and even he decided that it was better off sealed away until she could control it better. He wasn't a good fit for helping her control and he couldn't entrust something so dangerous to the elders. They may be strong enough to achieve victory but they couldn't endure the flames long enough for her to learn.

'Luckily we have an unfaltering god here.' Smirking smugly, things had gone exactly as Yun Ming had hoped. Dai'er was a young lady prone to going over the top, it was why she wasn't an elder right now alongside her somewhat lacking cultivation, and Wulin would be the perfect opponent to pull out that side of her.

Strangely enough, Wulin was an educator at heart so he didn't have to worry about him using one of those |Levels| of his and winning in the blink of an eye. That and Wulin was too much of a battle maniac to even consider such a thing. Three years of staying off the field was more than enough for him so he wanted to drag a good fight out as long as possible.

'…He's gotten stronger again.' Frowning deeply, a sigh left the Atlas Douluo's lips. Wulin's strength had always been difficult to gauge with his |Levels| being so different in strength and after his recent trip the gap between the current and former strongest only widened.

That was exactly what Yun Ming wanted, a stable and immovable mountain that would protect this world and act as a beacon of hope. As the Atlas Douluo, Sea God Pavilion Master, that wasn't something to be desired.

Tang Wulin was his ally, a student, and even a friend. But Grace Mirchea Luslec was no friend nor somebody to trust. No, that wasn't quite true. Yun Ming knew that Wulin had this world's best interests at heart and he could be sure about that. But the path was as valuable as the destination.

There was no indication just yet but Yun Ming knew that if push came to shove, Wulin would burn this era away to pave the way for the utopia he desires. For that reason, Yun Ming could never truly let down his guard around the youth.

'Is this how people feel around me?' Snorting at the thought, Yun Ming looked at the boy he thought of as his own son with warm eyes. 'I'm putting my trust in you Wulin. Don't make me regret it.'

Even now he was consumed by worry that by giving Tang Wilin the chance to grow he may have doomed the world but it was also possible he gave it the opportunity to grow to heights never even imaginable. That was the chance he was banking on.

'He's still keeping something from me as well. It involves Gu Yuena too.' He couldn't use his spiritual sense to spy on Gu Yuena with her terrifying strong spiritual power but he didn't have to see her to know what she looked like anyway. She was every bit as mysterious as Wulin was so he had to pay attention whether he liked it or not.

She and Wulin were hiding something from him, he always knew that. Wulin had been entirely honest with his origin and second identity but that wasn't everything and it was surely the same for Gu Yuena. He hadn't even seen them use soul rings so how could he possibly believe they had shown him everything they had?

Those two were enigmas, dangerous elements that would be better off gone. In the game board called life, unpredictable elements like them weren't desirable. A wild card was only something you wanted when you knew it was in your hand after all. Those two could decide the fate of this world whether it be reborn from its ashes or guiding it down a proper path.

That's how Yun Ming once thought, it's how he would have thought if he hadn't gotten to know them so well over the years. He had seen their playful teasing, their immovable trust, their adorable dates, and so much more. How could he possibly think badly of them? Wulin had even taken after him and his 'rizz' as the kids called it!

As it stood, those two would guide this world properly and he was excited to see it.

"Damn, that's hot!" In the waiting room, Xie Xie had swiftly managed to drag them all into the reverse world with Gu Yuena further separating this space and the real world yet he could still feel the sweltering heat!

"…It's hotter than my flames." Muttering to herself with determination blazing in her eyes, Mu Xi wasn't even sweating. The sheer spread of the flames far outclassed her but she wasn't too far behind in firepower! But now that she saw it, she wanted it. This level of fire would elevate her forging to a new level!

Frowning at the lively cry containing a familiar power, that accursed beast forced itself into Gu Yuena's mind. That beast that had engraved its presence into the Dragon God's very blood, that monstrous abomination that twisted the laws of the world as it pleased. It wasn't the same but it was so eerily similar, so similar that her blood burned with hatred just at its first cry of life.

"A phoenix." Gritting her teeth, Gu Yuena only just barely managed to stop herself from charging into the fray herself. The beast born from the flames covering the earth and concealing the heavens was something she could never forget, a creature that the dragon god declared to be the eternal enemy of the dragons.

Even as his logical half, she could barely stop herself so what about her partner? He may have quelled the Golden Dragon King's hatred but what about the unending fury of the Dragon God that had been so deeply engraved in his very essence?

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

Once again, I have been completely missed my chance to explain Dai'er's martial soul besides the fact that it's just a natural domain type. I'll probably explain it eventually (hopefully) but in the meantime why don't you tell me what you think it is? It should be easy enough to guess.
