Chapter 9: Chapter 8: Tagging Wang Dong'er, Golden Dragon Spear
"I didn't expect this kid to be so strong," Mu En thought, utterly shocked. He suspected that most Soul Elders would struggle to defeat Qian Ran.
Despite the Light Goddess Butterfly martial spirit being formidable, it had no effect on Qian Ran, who treated Wang Dong'er's attacks as if they were child's play. Although part of this was due to a natural suppression between their martial spirits, Qian Ran's own strength far surpassed Wang Dong'er's.
The Six-Winged Angel ruled over all light, making it immune to any light-based attacks. Without this supremacy, Wang Dong'er wouldn't have been rendered completely helpless.
"Looks like Shrek Academy will have some excitement this year," Mu En mused, choosing not to overthink Qian Ran's martial spirit. The reappearance of the Six-Winged Angel was a boon to the modern martial spirit world.
Back in the dorm, Wang Dong'er finished setting up her bed. When she saw Qian Ran enter, she immediately closed her eyes, pretending to meditate.
Qian Ran noticed but didn't disturb her.
Having crossed over three days ago, there were still many things he needed to settle and understand.
"Successfully tagged Goddess Wang Dong'er (Tang Wutong)."
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! By tagging Goddess Wang Dong'er, you've obtained the Golden Dragon Spear!"
"The Golden Dragon Spear? Isn't that Qiu'er's martial spirit? I didn't expect the system would manage to get it for me," Qian Ran thought. According to legend, the Golden Dragon Spear had been formed from one of the Golden Dragon King's ribs just before it was sealed during a chaotic battle in the Divine Realm. Only those with the Golden Dragon King's or Dragon God's bloodline could wield it. In some ways, the Golden Dragon Spear was even stronger than his Angelic Sacred Sword!
And honestly, he thought, this legendary artifact was better off with him than in the hands of someone as shameless as Tang San, who had given it to both Tang Wutong and Tang Wulin. Now it was his.
As for the Divine Realm, the system would surely handle any issues caused by the spear's absence.
"It's a pity I don't have the Golden Dragon King's bloodline, so I can't use it just yet." Qian Ran took out the Golden Dragon Spear and examined it closely.
It was a double-ended spear with sharp tips on both ends, nearly translucent at the edges. The spear gleamed golden, adorned with faint dragon-shaped engravings that flickered across its surface, casting an unusual glow.
After a while of admiring it, Qian Ran stored the spear away.
...
After killing the Skydream Iceworm, Qian Renxue had sealed most of its power, which would gradually release as Qian Ran's strength increased, allowing his power to skyrocket. For now, his greatest asset was his mental power, which was already approaching the level of a Title Douluo.
A typical Grandmaster's Sea of Spirit was no more than a small pool, while Qian Ran's was an endless ocean, shining with golden light.
Though not a spirit-type soul master, his immense mental power offered him significant advantages, particularly if he chose to study soul devices, which would be a breeze.
Additionally, Qian Renxue had left him with some of Electrolux's power. Though she absorbed most of Electrolux's godhood, she'd left Qian Ran with more than enough.
In fact, the advantages piling up on Qian Ran felt almost surreal.
Many of these advantages had been intended for Huo Yuhao by Tang San. Tang San had known that Huo Yuhao was a child of destiny, so he had sent Tang Wutong, also known as Wang Dong'er, down to be with him. Tang San's precarious position in the Divine Realm had led him to nurture future deities, and this was why Huo Yuhao had so many fortunate encounters.
Yet Tang San could never have anticipated that all these treasures would fall into the hands of Qian Ran and Qian Renxue. Not to mention, his precious daughter was already practically Qian Ran's.
Qian Ran was feeling quite pleased.
However, he still hadn't seen Huo Yuhao anywhere—was it possible that he hadn't survived?
Without the benefits originally meant for him, it would be nearly impossible for Huo Yuhao to make it out of the Star Dou Forest alive. And even if he managed to acquire a weak ten-year soul ring, he would likely achieve little in this lifetime. Unless, of course, fate had some other opportunities in store for him...
"This guy... he's actually pretty good-looking," Wang Dong'er thought, opening her eyes and gazing curiously at Qian Ran. His Six-Winged Angel martial spirit intrigued her. Could he have some connection to the Spirit Hall of ten thousand years ago? Back then, Spirit Hall and the Clear Sky Clan were mortal enemies.
Qian Ran gave off an aura of mystery, which only heightened Wang Dong'er's curiosity and her desire to uncover all of his secrets.
From his starry eyes to his chiseled face, Qian Ran was undeniably handsome.
As she looked at him, her mind flashed back to how he'd teased her earlier, making her blush and her heart race all over again. She recalled him pinching her backside, too—how outrageous!
"Ah, what are you doing?"
"You pervert!"
Suddenly, with her face flushed, Wang Dong'er stammered, seeing that Qian Ran had stripped down to just his underwear, his bare, masculine figure making her feel faint.
His abs—an impressive eight-pack—highlighted the attractive lines of his body. Looking further down, even with his underwear on, certain contours were still evident.
"Ahhh!"
Wang Dong'er screamed, covering her eyes with her hands.
How could she look at this?
She had never seen a man's body before, and now she'd seen it all.
Wang Dong'er felt like crying. She'd thought disguising herself as a boy would be fun but hadn't imagined it would lead to this.
Yet, beneath her embarrassment, curiosity got the better of her. Through her fingers, she sneaked another peek at Qian Ran's body.
That's... quite large.
So, this was a boy's body? Why was that part of him different from a girl's?
Regardless of gender, curiosity about the opposite sex was only natural—especially in a world with no biology classes.
Wang Dong'er's heart pounded, feeling a surge of forbidden excitement and adrenaline.
"We're both guys, so what's the problem? Besides, it's not like I'm completely naked." Qian Ran smirked, knowing he was teasing her on purpose.
"It's just not right!" Wang Dong'er's heart raced. As Qian Ran got up and headed for the bathroom, he passed by her, standing quite close.
"When I'm done, you'd better wash my clothes. From now on, you're in charge of keeping the dorm clean and washing my laundry. By hand."
"Why should I?" Wang Dong'er pouted, clearly unhappy.
"You're my underling now, remember? What did you say when you lost?" Qian Ran chuckled as he stepped into the bathroom.
The weather was quite warm, and a bath sounded perfect.
"How annoying!" Wang Dong'er puffed up her cheeks. She was actually being forced to clean their dorm, and now she even had to wash his clothes.
Did that mean she'd have to wash all of his clothes, even his underwear? That would mean…
"Ahhh!" Wang Dong'er screamed, rolling around on her bed, overcome with embarrassment.
Under her resentful gaze, Qian Ran tossed his clothes into the laundry basket outside the bathroom door and headed off to the dining hall.
Upon reaching the dining hall, Qian Ran realized a problem: he had no money. For the past few days, he'd been surviving off soul beast meat he'd hunted himself, and his clothes were only the few items provided by the system. The system-given survival funds had been used up on tuition.
Even though he owned priceless artifacts, he didn't have money for food, which felt a bit ironic…
It would be nice if he could receive some money from the system as a reward.
"Xiao Ya?" A voice broke into his thoughts, and he looked up to see Tang Ya standing in front of him.
It had been a while since he'd seen this beautiful girl.
"Xiao Ya? Little brother Qian Ran, I'm older than you, you know! How dare you call me that?" Tang Ya huffed, annoyed. She had already passed the entrance exam and was a senior, while Qian Ran was just a freshman. The least he could do was address her as "Senior Sister Xiao Ya."
"Little? Don't call a man 'little' so lightly. I'm certainly not small." Qian Ran didn't want Tang Ya to underestimate him. After all, he was anything but little. The system didn't cut corners, setting him up with peak human attributes. In a joking tone, he mused that he could practically wear his "belt" around his waist. Though, of course, he wasn't being entirely serious—any further would be dangerous.
