Chapter 8: Chapter 7: Wang Dong'er is Shy, Qian Ran the Big Bad
Wang Dong'er's eyes widened in shock, her mind reeling.
She never would have expected Qian Ran's martial spirit to be this powerful! No wonder he was so confident!
This martial spirit only existed in legends—she had only ever heard of it in stories, as it had disappeared from the continent for many years.
It was for this very reason that Wang Dong'er had proudly believed her Goddess of Light Butterfly to be the top light-attribute martial spirit.
But now, this unexpected turn of events had changed everything!
Her martial spirit was no match for his!
"The Six-Winged Angel martial spirit?" Mu En stood up from his chair, utterly astonished. Even he had only seen references to this martial spirit in ancient records from the Sea God Pavilion. Ten thousand years ago, this spirit was the undisputed number one on the continent, surpassing even the Clear Sky Hammer.
The Six-Winged Angel was also known as the "Representative of God."
After the great war ten thousand years ago, Spirit Hall had been destroyed, and the Six-Winged Angel martial spirit had disappeared from the continent.
Who would have thought it would reappear now?
The Six-Winged Angel, a blend of sacred, light, and fire attributes.
"It seems there's hope for that girl, Xiao Tao, after all," Mu En's eyes lit up.
The Six-Winged Angel was particularly effective against evil soul masters.
It wasn't simply because of its light attribute but rather due to its sacred nature.
Light could only suppress darkness, but holiness could eradicate evil.
Ma Xiaotao, now twenty years old and at the Soul Emperor level, had the Evil Fire Phoenix martial spirit, facing the same issues as Ma Hongjun. While Ma Hongjun could deal with his evil fire by frequenting brothels, Ma Xiaotao, being a girl, couldn't take the same approach. Additionally, with evil soul masters on the rise, her Evil Fire Phoenix was easily swayed toward becoming an evil soul master.
But Qian Ran's presence gave Mu En hope.
On the continent, light-attribute soul masters were rare but not unheard of. Sacred-attribute soul masters, however, were nearly extinct. After the rise of evil soul masters, families with sacred martial spirits were secretly wiped out, which was one reason for the rampant spread of evil soul masters in recent years.
...
"You tricked me!" Wang Dong'er was furious. She couldn't believe she'd been fooled by this guy. He had deliberately provoked her into making a bet even though he was clearly stronger.
Her face turned bright red with anger.
If she had lost to Qian Ran, didn't that mean she'd have to become his underling? And that she'd have to obey his every command? What if he made unreasonable demands? Thankfully, he didn't know she was a girl, or this bet could have really put her in a bad spot.
Wang Dong'er couldn't help but blush at the thought.
She was a girl, after all. What if Qian Ran treated her like a boy?
"No way, I haven't lost yet! All I have to do is beat you!" Wang Dong'er rushed toward Qian Ran. Her butterfly wings emitted a series of golden light orbs, which exploded around him.
"Too bad. Your light energy doesn't affect me at all; in fact, it strengthens me." Qian Ran's sacred light power could dissolve the soul power of other soul masters. And even more so with Wang Dong'er's light attribute.
Qian Ran didn't even use any soul skills; instead, he simply leveraged the properties of his Six-Winged Angel martial spirit, dissolving and absorbing Wang Dong'er's light-based soul power.
The light orbs exploded around him but were neutralized by his holy energy.
Wang Dong'er was horrified.
Her light energy was being absorbed and converted into his power? That meant her martial spirit was completely ineffective against him!
Qian Ran rushed up to Wang Dong'er and grabbed her wrist.
"Is this all you've got? Looks like you're still lacking," Qian Ran teased.
"You're the one who's lacking!" Wang Dong'er's face flushed red with anger, feeling completely restrained by Qian Ran. Her light energy, which usually bolstered her attacks, was like a feast for Qian Ran, who easily absorbed it.
"Let go of me!" She struggled, humiliated. This was the first time a guy her age had touched her.
"So soft, like a girl's hand," Qian Ran remarked. He could now catch a faint scent from her, lightly masked but still noticeable.
I am a girl!
Wang Dong'er was both embarrassed and infuriated, feeling like a target of Qian Ran's lecherous gaze. Thankfully, she was disguised as a boy; otherwise, she'd have been in even worse trouble. This guy was obviously a playboy, probably used to pushing girls around!
"Take that! I won't let you bully me!" She tried to pull her hand away with all her might, but Qian Ran's grip was too strong. Frustrated, a cunning look flashed in her eyes.
She glanced at a certain spot, luring his attention, then swiftly brought up her long leg and aimed a solid kick at... a very vulnerable area.
Every man had a weakness there.
"Ah!"
Qian Ran hadn't expected Wang Dong'er to fight so dirty, but he admired her fiery spirit.
Since Wang Dong'er was willing to go low, he decided not to hold back either!
In a flash, he caught her foot firmly in his hand.
"Ah!"
The sensation of his grip sent a shiver through her, making her gasp as her face turned beet red.
Wang Dong'er felt on the verge of tears.
She'd never been treated like this before, and now Qian Ran had humiliated her so thoroughly!
Damn you, Qian Ran! I'll make you pay for this someday!
"Let go of me, or else..." Wang Dong'er tried to threaten him, but as she thought about it, she realized she had no real leverage and stopped.
"Or else what?" Qian Ran raised an eyebrow, considering going a step further.
Wang Dong'er was silent, her pink-blue eyes blinking, a look of grievance on her face as she stared at him.
"Now, do you know who's in charge in this dorm?"
"I do," Wang Dong'er finally conceded, reluctantly swallowing her pride. She just wanted Qian Ran to let go of her. As a girl, it was utterly mortifying to have her foot held by a guy.
"You'd better remember—you're my underling now, so you'll listen to me, understood?" Qian Ran gave her arm a light tug, pulling her into his embrace with a yelp.
Held close, Wang Dong'er's mind went blank, her heart racing.
Aside from her family, no one had ever held her like this, let alone in such an intimate way.
"Let go, or I'll bite you," she muttered, flustered, noticing that people outside the dorm had started watching them.
Qian Ran looked down at Wang Dong'er's embarrassed expression, and gently rubbed her slender waist, feeling her soft warmth and faint fragrance, reluctant to release her.
Her waist was incredibly delicate, her body showing the early signs of maturity, and he noted that she wasn't exactly petite.
And, most importantly, she felt wonderful to hold, with her smooth skin and pleasant scent.
The only downside was that she was in disguise. If Wang Dong'er were dressed as a girl, she would be even more captivating with her Goddess of Light Butterfly martial spirit activated.
Since they weren't quite at that level yet, he would settle for holding her now. Once he truly won her over, he'd have her in his arms every day. And once she was his, he could do anything he wanted, and she wouldn't refuse.
Wang Dong'er or Tang Wutong? He much preferred Wang Dong'er's straightforward personality over Tang Wutong's entitled behavior.
In this life, he would ensure Wang Dong'er didn't end up warped by Tang San's influence.
If she did start acting like a spoiled princess, he'd have his ways of handling it.
He even imagined training her so she could join him in fighting Tang San, then the two of them finding Xiao Wu and living a blissful life together, envied by all.
That was the life Qian Ran longed for. As for Tang San, he was fated to be the one Qian Ran crushed underfoot.
"Hmph." Finally, Qian Ran let Wang Dong'er go, and she darted away like a startled rabbit.
