Chapter 14: Russo-Japanese War part 5
As Anastasias Army, the Central Army reached Changjin they encounterd the reorganized Japanese Army.
Changjin is deep in Korea and the Japanese had arrived at the city before them and fortified it hastily as the Russians where a few kilometers away from the city. Once the Russians reached the from where they could see the city Anastasia couldn't help but frown.
"The Japanese got here before us. Set up camp we need a plan." Anastasia handed the binoculars to the soldier next to her and went back.
.
.
.
30 minutes later
"Alright they have the city and that's a no go we need to quickly get past them. Any ideas.?" Anastasia looked at her officers who started to formulate plans. They need experience as well. Can't let them rely on her for everything.
The officers proposed ideas but where eventually scrapped and as they argued and bickerd a young man spoke up to Anastasia.
"If I may Sir, I have a plan that could do."
Anastasia looked at the man who spoke saw a young man in his twenties. A Sergeant?
"Watch who you're speaking to Sergeant get out-" "Let him speak." The officer who brazenly barked cowered in fear as Anastasia looked dead in his eyes. "I apologize Sir."
"Ahem, yes Sergeant speak what do you want to say."
"Thank you, your Highness, as I was saying. We can use our Artillery to distract them keep and them focused on our Troops in front of them while a small squad infiltrates from the sewers and takes out their comrades, once they finish we can storm the city while they are in disarray."
'Hmm this man has a good plan but there is a flaw' "How will the squad even kill them and once they do, escape?" Anastasia questioned the young man.
"We can use timed explosives and they will escape the way they came from."
The Sergeant had a good plan as any other would take long which could give the Japanese to further reinforce the city.
Don't forget as they are talking both Army's are in conflict in the surrounding land as the city is not the only place where the fighting happens.
"Alright, I approve of this plan get ready your squad and brief them, be at the sewers in 1 hour." The man smiled. " Oh and by the way, you'll lead them." The young man started to sweat a little as he saw Anastasias smirk.
It's currently night time as the dark makes the bullets visible as they streak across the dark forests and hills while the Artillery constantly bombards everything in its path.
The front had moved quickly as the Eastern and Western army's have already arrived at Tanchon and at Taechon, moving the front further inland. But as the Japanese Army arrived the pace slowed which is understandable but not acceptable.
They need a breakthrough to get further in and cut the supply chain depriving the other fronts of resources making them collapse and have the Russian Army's punch through.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM
RATATATATA BANG BANG BANG
The fighting continues as men from both sides get shot an replaced by a new soldier who continues to fight.
RATATATA
Meanwhile in the sewers the Sergeant now identified as Sergey lead the small squad of 3 including him through the nasty grime.
"Ugh! I can't stand the stench!"
"Hold it in Igor, you'll get your fresh breath soon enough just have patience."
"I understand Sir, but there's shit everywhere we'd probably die from this before we reach our target."
The sewers are horrendous, good thing that there is a platform to walk on or they would be covered in excrement.
What they don't know is that the blessing that everyone received made them immune to sickness and fatigue. That's for the entire Russian Army in Korea. Eventually they will find out but that will take time.
"We arrived, get up the ladder slowly."
As Misha the demolition expert in the squad went up the ladder and took a peek through the manhole cover. "It's clear guys, follow me."
They all existed the sewer as everyone took deep breaths and quickly took cover behind boxes that lay scattered.
"Sir we seem to be close to the camp we need to be quick." Misha peeked over the boxes and saw Japanese men run across the streets. "Civilians seem to be evacuated a long time ago, the information was false. Possible fake files." Vladimir the marksman of the squad pointed out.
"We will inform comand after we get back in one piece."
Igor picked up the radio on his hip."The Radios sir we can use those."
Radios are made by Imperial Inc. for the Army but are kept a tight secret as no Nation besides them have it. It's small enough to wield it by one hand and to talk through long distances.
"No we can't. They enemy may hear us."
Sergey shook his head and pointed at the Japanese soldiers running by.
"Where is the camp tho?"
Igor asked as everyone turned to face him.
"That's easy, get one poor soul to speak and we'd know." Sergey looked at Misha as he nodded.
As the squad moved they saw a lone Japanese moving boxes that seem to be full of munitions. Vladimir approached the man and grabbed his neck and started to choke him while pulling him back to his squad.
"Krachahch!" The man chokes as Sergey spoke in Japanese.
"Where is your comand tent, answer me or I'll gouge your eyes out."
The Japanese who's face is crimson red and full of tears started to nod as frantically.
Sergey nodded at Vladimir who let the man go. "HA, HA ,HA, the- HA comand is-HA at the southern district, you'll see it." Before the man could do anything else Misha kicked the butt of his gun at the mans head and knocked him out.
They placed some explosives at the munitions around them and moved to the direction of the comand tent. Once thay arrived they saw a shit ton of guards and sat down behind a wall.
"Well shit now what?" Igor silently cried out when he saw the amount of men.
"Like we did until now, but this time we split up. Misha give us some of your toys we will place them and get out of here."
Misha nodded at Sergey and gave everyone the explosives he had with him. As they split up and went their own direction they saw the comanders leave the tent.
'This will give us a opportunity to get in and place the explosives in the tent' Sergey thought as he got closer to the tent.
*DONG DING*
'SHIT'
"What was that, go check it out."
Sergey went behind a crate as the guards got alerted and made their way to his position.
As the guard got at the place where the noise came from he saw a can on the floor and picked it up. "It was a can, must be the wind"
'I was lucky' Sergey nearly escaped and took a deep breath and continued onwards.
As he neared the tent he took out his knife and cut open a hole and went into the tent.
We saw some papers and took them to take back and started to place the explosives in hidden locations.
Once he's finished he went back the way he came from and arrived at the wall as his squad waited for him.
"What took you so long we need to go now."
Igor complained and looked behind the wall.
"Everyone got the explosives placed?"
They nodded. "Alright, back we go."
As they arrived at the manhole cover and went in, at the same time the Japanese comanders entered the tent and started arguing.
"WE NEED TO PUSH THE RUSSIANS AWAY WE WONT HOLD ON FOR LONGER!"
"WE NEED TO PESERVE OUR STRENGTH!"
They argued until one of them noticed something. "Guys the papers are missing!"
The Argument stopped as they looked at the box that had the confidential information and paled. Before they could freak out one of them pointed at a small metal cover on the meeting table. "I hear noise from that metal cover."
The man picked it up and saw what seems to be a brick with a clock on it.
"What is tha-BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
