Destroying My Own World

Chapter 393: Stalemate.

Mykel's expression was cold when he was staring at Aevia, and it was the first time for Elena to see him making that kind of expression. The reason was simple, it was because of the way Aevia treated Elena and what she did to Elena's face.

Aevia didn't like the way Mykel looked at her and she decided to rip Elena's face off to show him who was the one in power. She then threw Elena away and put Elena in a small cocoon, imprisoning her until she ran out of life energy.

Mykel didn't get his eyes off Aevia and he didn't even flinch after what she did to Elena. His focus was on her even though he was struggling to maintain the power that kept surging within his body.

"Are you finally done pretending?" Aevia asked and stared Mykel in the eyes. "I have to admit that all of you managed to trick me, but I'm not going to be fooled twice," she continued.

"Even if you beg for your life, I'm not going to give you a second chance. All of you will die here," Aevia said with a serious expression.

Aevia disappeared and reappeared in front of Mykel and released a burst of energy into his stomach. She didn't hold back at all and she made his lower body disintegrate without leaving a single particle behind. She was enraged by him and she wanted to suffer for eternity, a fate worse than death.

She grabbed Mykel by the neck, preventing him from falling, and then she put her other hand into his chest. But Mykel suddenly grabbed her hand, preventing her from putting her hand inside his body. She was surprised, but she was more pissed that Mykel didn't give her the satisfaction of him suffering at all.

"Even if you're furious, you need to keep your head cold. You really have no experience in this kind of situation, don't you?" Mykel asked and stared at Aevia without showing any fear or pain. "You just make a fool of yourself twice," he pointed out.

Aevia didn't know what Mykel was talking about until she felt it within her that made her feel weak. Her hands started to tremble the longer she held Mykel, but she knew it was because of him. She then looked down at Mykel's body and realized she had just destroyed a part of her own that was running within his body.

"You just hurt yourself like a fool, and I'm grateful that you released me from this condition," Mykel said as his lower body started to regenerate. "Although I'm way weaker than you, the longer you're here, the stronger I become. The more you hurt me, the more you get weaker," he pointed out as he slowly pushed Aevia's hand away from his body.

Aevia finally understood the whole situation and the more answers she got, the more she was cornered and unable to leave. The bond between Elena and Mykel created such power that she couldn't understand. She realized the little mistakes that she made and stacked them up to the point it would soon fall on her and kill her.

Although it seemed that Aevia was cornered, that didn't mean Elena wasn't affected by it. Both her power and Elena's power were running inside Mykel's body, and whenever she destroyed Mykel's body, Elena felt it as well and got affected by it. To put it simply, the three of them would be when they destroyed each other's bodies, but Mykel wouldn't feel a thing if either Elena or Aevia got their energies destroyed.

"Self-sacrifice is for weaklings, and I learned that hardships would come toward me as I kept on living. Never once in my life, I couldn't deal with all the hardship I'm facing," Mykel said as his body recovered fully. "You might be an omnipotent being, but you're just another obstacle that I need to face and get rid of," he slowly overwhelmed Aevia who was currently in a weakened state.

Mykel clenched his left fist and punched Aevia right in the stomach without holding back. Although his punch barely did any damage to her, it was enough to hurt her pride, and her status as an omnipotent being who was supposed to be invincible. He then sent a side kick onto Aevia's upper chest and kicked her away like kicking a rat on the street.

He walked past Aevia like her existence wasn't worth his attention at all and went straight to where Elena was. He absorbed all the energy around him, putting it into his body and transferring it into his fist. He then punched the cocoon, dispersing the energy that imprisoned her. That attack was the most powerful attack he had ever done, and it took a huge toll on his body.

"I'm sorry it took me a while to understand the power you gave me," Mykel slowly picked Elena up and carried her in his arms. "I can't say that I'm proud of you because you have exceeded my expectations. You have surpassed me in all things," he pointed out.

"What are you talking about..." Elena jumped down and even though she didn't seem like the compliment, she was so happy that she couldn't hide her expression at all when it came to Mykel's praises. "It took me eons to understand the power, but you learned it in less than half a day," she looked at Mykel and was a bit angry that he could do it so easily.

Mykel and Elena glanced at Aevia and saw her standing up after the humiliation. They both could sense her power had been fully recovered, and the fact she was being quiet made it a bit unnerving. But, they weren't the only ones who had recovered, both Mykel and Elena were ready to fight again.

"Not this time," Mykel said as he started to feel the energy flow inside his body again and put him in extreme pain. "If it's not because of you, I won't be able to free myself from her. I never owe my life to someone other than Hera, and now I owe you one," he looked at Elena with a serious expression.

"I have prepared the bridge for you. It's time for you to decide whether to cross it or not," Elena clenched her fists and stared at Aevia who was still quiet and hadn't made any suspicious movement.

"What we currently have is still not enough. Don't let your guard down, and prolong this for as long as we can," Mykel warned as he started to see Aevia move her fingers. "One little mistake, and it will be over. Never underestimate your opponent and keep your head cold," he added.

Elena hummed with understanding and slowly walked away from Mykel so she could attack Aevia from a different side and angle.

The reason why Mykel didn't want to defeat Aevia even though he had the chance was because it would ruin the plan. He knew that Aevia couldn't be killed easily, and even if he managed to do that, it would only bring her consciousness back to her world. He didn't want that since it would only free her from that space that was already a perfect place to keep her at bay.

Until Mykel and the others knew how to defeat Aevia, Elena and Mykel would keep her there with them. They knew that Aevia knew about their plan and their reason for not killing her since they shared the same thoughts.

Mykel dashed forward and spun as he let his right leg straight and the moment he did a full spin, he swung his right leg down. His heel was right on top of Aevia's head, but the energy inside him suddenly turned against him, controlling his body and slamming him to the ground before his heel hit Aevia's head.

Aevia stared down at Mykel and already knew how to deal with him without having to make herself suffer. The solution was simple and that was to manipulate her energy within his body and use him as she pleased. Suddenly Elena appeared behind Aevia and threw a right hook on Aevia's right ear, sending her away and stopping her from toying with Mykel's body.

Both Elena and Mykel found out about Aevia's strategy because their thoughts had become one. Nobody could get the upper hand because of that, and they were in a stalemate, but Aevia was losing in the long run.

Aevia smiled as she chuckled and then looked at Elena and Mykel with her relaxed expression. She then started laughing, but it wasn't a laugh of mockery or nervousness, it was something else. After she had enough of laughing, she sighed as she raised her right hand, and a ball of light formed on her palm.

"I hope what they're about to find is enough to make them change their minds," Aevia smiled as she looked at both of them.
