Chapter 144: New Boss.
This caused a lot of smoke to be kicked up. It also caused the entire wall to crash. Their entire defense fell just like that.
He said through the smoke, "Many people were injured, but at least we are now on the same level."
Someone rushed towards the sound of his voice and attacked him. It was one of Red Dreams lieutenants. The man had super strength, so he had the confidence to fight him despite what he had shown.
The man punched at him with so much force, the wind howled. It was a shrill scream that only intensified when he struck back with his own punch.
The two fists collided with each other and caused blood and flesh to explode. This was followed by a scream of pain as the lieutenant fell to the ground clutching the stump where his right arm used to be.
The scream of pain doused any feeling of resistance that was still left in them. They stood around in a circle, looking at him with fear.
He dusted his non-existent sleeve of non-existent dust nonchalantly. Then he said, "Stand down. I am not here to kill."
All of them looked at their boss for what to do.
Red Dream was as beautiful as ever. The red vines on her head and her green skin worked well with her figure and scanty attire to create an exotic beauty. If only she wasn't frowning, she would look even better.
She asked him, "What do you want? I don't think I have anything that will interest someone of your caliber."
He didn't reply. Instead, he began walking in the direction of the main hall.
He said on his way there, "Come with me. We have a lot to talk about."
He walked in a straight line towards where he knew the main hall would be. Unfortunately, there were a lot of buildings in his way, which meant he had to break down everything in his way to reach the main hall.
He walked straight through walls, breaking them down in the process. As for other obstacles like shelves, beds, and machinery, he turned his arm into a large blade, which he used to slice through them.
One cut was all he needed to separate everything in his way into two halves. The cut was clean, so they properly displayed what could have happened if he had come to kill.
This act of finding the main hall without directions and sitting at the head of the table also showed that he had done his investigations into the gang, and he felt right at home at the center of their base.
He sat down and looked around as if he came here for sighting. Meanwhile, Red Dream stood to the side with bated breath and her heart in her throat.
Eventually he spoke. He said, "Nice place you have here."
She nodded and replied, "I do good work."
She said that with eyes blazing with anger. He had complimented her, but she didn't like what he said because what he said means something she doesn't like.
It is a code among villains and bullies. When you say they have something nice, it means you like what they have and would like to have it. It is usually the precursor to a battle as the previous owner of the nice thing fights to defend their ownership of it.
But that is not going to happen now after everything that he has displayed. She knows it is a futile endeavor to try and resist him, so she can only glare at him.
He asked her, "Is this your true body or your clone?"
That was her most guided secret. So its casual revelation struck her to the core.
Even so, she has a heart of steel. As the boss of a gang, the least she could do and do very well is lie to his face.
She asked with confusion, "What are you talking about?"
He shook his head. "Never mind. I'll find out myself."
He used Mental Domination Network immediately. She was within his sight line, so he was able to mark her.
Unlike the minds of normal people, her mind didn't give him much resistance. It was clear to him at a glance that this was just a puppet. So he pushed the mark deeper into the puppet without fear of breaking it.
Red Dream froze immediately. Then she fell to the ground as her true body lost connection with the puppet.
She lost connection because the connection was being used to trace her mind to her true body. When he found her true mind, he put the mark in it and said to her, "There you are."
The intrusion in her mind was like someone put their hand in her mind. Then his voice rang in her head loudly. It echoed off the walls of her mind over and over again.
She clutched her head and screamed at him, "What did you do to me?"
"Don't ask me. I am capable, but I am not capable of this. That's why I have subordinates."
"Now come back and let's talk. I like to talk face-to-face."
He left her mind and returned his attention to the main hall. The puppet on the ground twitched and then stood back up. It was still twitching even when she gained control of it. It is because her mind is not stable.
He couldn't blame her for her reaction. It was an understandable reaction to having one's secret exposed and violated. But he wasn't going to give her the time to adjust.
He said to her, "I might look like I am alone, but I am not. Soon, you will become one of the many people supporting and assisting me."
She didn't speak, so he continued. "Who knows? I might die in at most seven years. You will be rid of me then. So there is still hope for the future."
She finally spoke, "So you want to form a cabal."
