Chapter 6: The Bound Gunman Arc - Reaching New Land
3rd POV
Controlling the ship was a hard task, especially if one person was violating a large naval ship, one built for combating pirates out in the open sea. Luckily for Pythias, the navy left behind a log pose, the only item capable of navigating the Grand Line, to even find another island without getting lost in the sea.
He also had to be especially careful though, making sure not to touch anything with all five digits of either of his hand. Over the years he tested out how powerful his decay could become, when he merely touched an object for a second it simply started to decay that specific spot for a brief period of time.
When he held onto them though, the effect would be greater and spread further, eventually killing the target. However, the effect didn't activate unless he used all five digits of his finger, meaning he had to be extra careful when using his hands and avoid using all five of them.
Especially on the boat, where resources were limited beyond maybe the food supply. Plenty of fish in the sea but he would need plenty of fruits and vegetables to keep himself regular alongside any future crew members and that's where the gardens came in. They could give them a constant growing food supply if cultivated right and if the weather was as unpredictable as some of the books stored away on the ships say, he could get some fresh rain every once in a while.
He'd be able to collect the fresh water during some of those freaky weather phenomena. Whether snow or rain, it would all work out in the end but the young man would learn today that the weather of the Grand Line wouldn't be so easy to navigate, even for the most experienced navigators and that's nothing to say about those who are new at it.
His ship rocked back and forth, as the weather began changing rapidly from rainy, to snowy, to scorching heat all in the span of seconds. It was a show of how chaotic the Grand Lines weather could be. He tried his best to keep the ship afloat, but he couldn't stop some of it from being damaged although he was lucky it was a minimal amount.
However, he kept control of the ship, never slipping away and letting all five digits of his hands touch a single part of the ship. He worked hard to keep on course, never steering from the course and always following the Log Pose direction.
He needed to explore the world, gather allies and build his crew, create an organization strong enough to oppose the World Government and the admirals they employed. He needed far more power than he was currently capable of while, and while he could train his body to the absolute limits, he was alone and he needed allies.
People who understood the larger world that he didn't, that he couldn't after being stuck on that damn island for so long.
Eventually, the weather started to calm down a bit and started becoming more solidified, and it stayed on a nice dark cloudy day, with no rain nor sun to beam down on Pythias for hours on end. In his eyes, it was the perfect weather to be outside in.
Then he saw it, out in the distance an island much bigger than the one he lived on all his damnable life. He saw far bigger buildings as well, houses and shops if the stories his grandfather used to tell him were right.
So he set a course to the island, going for the port nearby that had a few spots still open for him to land. So he set the sails and sailed towards it, getting ready to dock and drop the anchor so that his ship didn't drift into the sea.
He eventually came to port and docked successfully with a few average-looking folks helping secure his vestal and tie it down. Just when he was about to drop the anchor, the people who helped him out began to panic and frantically told him not to and explained to him that he didn't need to do that.
"Ya really can't do that ya know, it could damage the port and really hurt the anchor in the long run."
"Yeah Yeah what the boss said, you only need to do that when you're out at sea and have to stay in one position."
Hearing all this Pythias just nodded his head and started scratching his next again, both out of habit and embarrassment. Eventually though after some negotiating on the cost of docking there and for how long he would be there, Pythias was eventually free to explore the city and take in the place.
Unfortunately, he didn't know how to begin looking for potential crewmates nor the type of people that be interested in his crusade, his dream of a world devoid of Celestial Dragons, and the destruction of the World Government.
Pythias knew he needed to be smart, to be clever, and try to not get the marine's attention at least not yet. He knew that eventually, they'd figure out he was a criminal at least in their eyes, and put a bounty on him.
Exploring the place he saw plenty of happy families, people dating, and people treating marine guards like humans and not the monsters they were. The beast who obeyed every whim of the Celestial Dragons, never thinking for themselves and going against an order because it was wrong.
Then he eventually came to the center of the town and in it was a man chained in the exact center of town with a sword, and some guns stacked in a neat pile in front of him. He wore a cowboyish outfit and his face was masked so that people couldn't see it.

Most of all, however, he saw the man's eyes, the hatred for the marines, the burning desire for revenge against them for some crime committed against him. Softly and quietly Pythias began to laugh seeing a potential new recruit.
"Ka Ka Ka, KaKaKaKaKa."
"This might be easier then I thought."
