Chapter 45: Library.
Chapter 45: Library.
*Celia’s POV*
With my mind of an adult, I do not think it would be right for me to lust after my fellow students. But luckily, the person who showed up, looked to a be teacher. At least, she didn’t look like a student, but she still looked to be extremely beautiful. Do beauty potions exist in this world?…
Look, it’s not like I WON’T get with a girl my age, but if it does happen, it at least has to be true love. That is the only way that I could justify it in my mind.
Unknown Teacher: “Is… is that a book written by the legendary Amelie Scarletwood!?” She asked with sparkly eyes.
Celia: “Hm? Yes, it is, as I am her student. My name is Celia, what is yours?” I reply.
Unknown Teacher: “Ah, so you’re her rumored student! It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Celia. I am Hadi, I do not have a family name.” She said with a bow.
She said that she didn’t have a family name, but I felt like that part was a lie. Does she have to hide her name? Ah, it isn’t any of my business anyway.
Celia: “Hadi, you’re a teacher? What class do you teach, if you don’t mind me asking?” I ask with a curious tone.
Hadi: “I teach magic class. Specifically, I teach about the fire element.” She replied with a proud tone.
Hadi had bright red hair that went down to her chest, and her eyes were of the same color. So, her using fire magic, truly suits her. Though, I think that it would have been funny if she used water magic…
Celia: “Oh? Then we might meet later. I joined the magic class, and I plan to learn every element.” I reply with a smile.
Hadi: “Really? I would love to teach such a cute student like you.” She said with a flirty tone.
Celia: “And I would love to have such a beautiful woman like you as my teacher.” I shot back with a flirty tone of my own.
This caused her to turn beet red. Girl… if you can’t take it, then don’t dish it out… I might have flirted with her, but she isn’t really my type. But, she is still cute, so a little flirting with her won’t be that big of a deal, right?
Hadi: “Thank… thank you! Lady Celia, may I perhaps borrow that book of yours? Amelie is a hero of mine, so reading one of her famed books, that would cost you an entire mansion to buy, is a dream of mine.” She asked with an excited tone, while trying to hide her embarrassment from my flirt attack.
Celia: “Well, it was a gift, so I don’t have her permission to share it with anyone.” I reply with a remorseful tone.
Please! Save yourself! If you read this book, your respect for her will be completely blown away, and will never recover! Although useful, the book is filled with so many ramblings, that basically scream that Amelie is lonely, that I felt sad while reading it. And I am not even halfway done with the book…
Ria: “Lady Celia, there shouldn’t be any problem with her borrowing the book, just as long as she returns it.” Ria said with a cheeky tone and expression.
She knows! Ria knows that this book will destroy Hadi’s respect for Amelie! She is actively trying to ruin Amelie’s reputation with her fans! Once Hadi heard Ria, her eyes got all sparkly. I can’t refuse her now… Well, I feel like the rest of the book will just be more rambling, rather than being anything actually helpful…
Celia: “Then, yes, you can borrow it. Just… just don’t be disappointed.” I say with a sigh, before handing her the dangerous, world shattering book…
She thanked me profusely, before running off to gods knows where. Oh, Amelie, don’t blame me for this… Wait, will she even find out about it? Yeah, let’s just throw caution to the wind, and shove this event deep into the back of my mind. I might even forget to get the book back from Hadi…
With my only book stolen from me, I was about to get up from my seat, and get a different one, but Ria stopped me. She said that just to ask her what kind of book that I want, and she would go get it for me. I just asked for a book on the basics of magic.
Amelie’s book had amazing information in it, but it was all master level information. So I couldn’t really get anything out of it with my current knowledge on magic. After waiting for a few minutes, Ria came back with a whole stack of books…
She was holding like, twenty different very thick books. How strong even is this woman? If I tried to do that, I would fail miserably… Once I was out of my shocked state, I looked over the books that she got for me.
The one at the top, which I had to stand on my tippy toes to reach, seemed to be the one that I should start with. Why it was on the top, was most likely because Ria was messing with me, if her laughing at me going tippy toe mode, is anything to go by… With a pout, I start to read the book that I picked up.
*Some Time Later.*
Ria: “Lady Celia, it is time for us to head back to our residence.” She said.
Celia: “Hm? Why?” I ask with a head tilt.
Ria: “It has been eight hours, Lady Celia. The day is over, you need to rest up for tomorrow.” She answered.
Celia: “…”
Eight hours!? It took me that long to read just these books!? No… I think that each one was over 200,000 words, so I actually made good time. But, did I end up skipping all of my classes!?
Ria: “Classes do not start until tomorrow, Lady Celia.” She said with a giggle.
Celia: “Oh, I see. That’s good.” I say with a relieved tone and expression.
After I got up from my seat, I stretched my body out a bit. Since I stayed in one place for so long, I need to work out all of the kinks in my body. Once I heard a few popping sounds from my body, I was ready to leave the library. Ria said that she will put the books away, and I should just go on ahead. Not wanting to upset the powerful maid, I went along with her suggestion.
Now that I am near the front door of the library, looking back at it, I was at awe from how many books must be here. There were well over eight floors in this place. With how long each book is, you would have to read books every day, for maybe a few hundred years, just to read HALF of the books here…
When I opened the door, and walked out of the library, I had a chance encounter with a cute girl, and bumped into her. Not! I am not THAT lucky for such an event to happen. This academy was basically a town, and it was designed as such. While walking back to my academy house, I did actually have a chance encounter. Just not a fluffy one with a cute girl…
