American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 224: Chapter 221: Witty Supergirl

"Norn?" Su Sheng turned to look at Norn beside him, a sly smile creeping onto his face.

"Fiora, hand over what I want, no matter what method you use. Otherwise..." Su Sheng's voice trailed off as he glanced around, his tone deceptively light. "I might just kill all of you."

"Alright," Fiora responded gravely.

The moment she spoke, she realized the kryptonite's effect had dissipated. She stood up and headed toward Norn. But Norn, refusing to back down, shouted in defiance. "Are you crazy? Do you honestly think he's going to kill us? If he wanted to, he'd have done it already!"

Fiora's eyes narrowed. "Exactly. If he really wanted to, he would have done it long ago. That's why I believe him."

Among the group, Fiora understood Su Sheng the best, especially since Zod's arrival. She had a sense of Su Sheng's real motives. He wasn't here for mindless destruction or random violence—he was here for a larger purpose, treating the world like a game board. He'd brought Fiora and Superman to turn the Earth into a second Krypton, but then brought Zod in to assist Supergirl. It was all a delicate balance. To him, they were just pawns in a cosmic chess game.

But if one pawn got out of line, Su Sheng would have no problem wiping the board clean.

"I don't want him to have to act, so I'll do it myself," Fiora said firmly, gripping Norn by the arm. "Tell me where the things are."

"I won't tell you!" Norn spat back defiantly.

Fiora narrowed her eyes. "I have ways to make you talk." She dragged Norn into the Hall of Justice, and moments later, Norn's screams filled the air.

Supergirl turned to Su Sheng, her face troubled. "Did you bring her here, too?"

Su Sheng nodded lightly. "I did."

"What are you planning, exactly?" Supergirl asked, still trying to understand his actions. "Do you really want to turn Earth into a second Krypton? Then why bring Zod here to help us?"

Su Sheng smiled. "You don't need to understand everything. Just remember one thing: you're my girlfriend."

Supergirl raised an eyebrow. "And if I wasn't, would you just do whatever you wanted?"

Su Sheng paused, then nodded and shook his head simultaneously. If Supergirl weren't here, things would be different—more chaotic, less entertaining. She was part of the fun, part of the reason he stayed so long.

Suddenly, Boom! Supergirl shot into the sky.

Su Sheng blinked, momentarily confused. He didn't follow her, and moments later, he heard a loud roar. Looking up, he saw a massive spaceship slowly rising into the sky. It was Rodsburg—Supergirl had pushed the entire ship into the air, moving it swiftly away from Earth.

Su Sheng clapped his hands, impressed. "Smart move!"

While everyone else had been weakened by the kryptonite, Supergirl had taken the chance to move Rodsburg off the planet. As long as it was far enough away, the entire 'cleaning plan'—the plan to reshape the world into a second Krypton—would fail.

"I thought she was just a naive girl, but she took the opportunity perfectly," Su Sheng said, glancing at Astra, whose face showed a mix of emotions. There was no anger, only a strange sense of relief. Superman, on the other hand, looked furious.

Half an hour later, Supergirl returned, landing softly on the ground. She looked around, noticing that Metropolis had returned to normal, and a small smile formed on her lips. She then walked over to Superman.

"I don't want to hurt you," she said, her voice calm but resolute. "I know Lois's death changed you, but that's no excuse to hurt the Earth and its people. So, I'm going to have to lock you up. I hope you'll take the time to reflect."

Su Sheng's eyes narrowed as he watched. Was this it? The battle between Supergirl and a corrupted Superman, the birth of the Injustice League—was it really ending here, with Superman captured so easily? It felt like something was missing, like there should have been a final explosion, a climax that never came.

"Kara, you're just lucky," Superman said, his voice seething with anger. "You're lucky to have Su Sheng as your boyfriend. Without him, you wouldn't have stopped me. You wouldn't have stopped my justice! If Su Sheng had died instead of Lois, you would be just as extreme as me!"

Supergirl turned to look at Su Sheng, her eyes filled with unspoken questions.

Su Sheng chuckled after a moment. "Alright, alright. You're the first person to ever make me compromise."

Supergirl smiled brightly. "That's because you're my boyfriend."

Just as their conversation ended, a few figures flew toward them. It was Zod, Martian Manhunter, and Alex, who had arrived with a supply of kryptonite handcuffs and restraint devices.

"I've got the information," Fiora said, emerging from the Hall of Justice with Norn. She glanced at the handcuffed Superman before looking to Su Sheng. "So... is it all over?"

Su Sheng shrugged. "Looks like it."

He turned to Supergirl. "You can handle the rest. I'll take Astra, Fiora, and my belongings, and I'll be back to see you later."

"Okay," Supergirl nodded, ready to finish what had been started.

With Superman captured and the Metropolis crisis averted, news of the victory spread like wildfire. The world rejoiced, celebrating the end of what had seemed like an inevitable apocalypse.

Supergirl and her team systematically captured Superman's followers and sent them to the DEO's prison. Although some had escaped, it was only a matter of time before they were caught. Meanwhile, Su Sheng, having obtained what he came for, returned to his ship with Fiora and Astra.

Fiora looked at Su Sheng and asked, "What are you planning to do with us?"

Su Sheng smiled. "While Earth won't become a second Krypton, you can help me run a Kryptonian city—Argo City."

PS: It seems like most of you aren't fans of the Injustice storyline, so I'll wrap up Kara's arc here. Once her world is tied up, we'll head back to Earth to prepare for Suicide Squad and Justice League!
