American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 223: Chapter 222: Confession to Mother and Daughter

"Impossible!" Astra, standing beside Fiora, shouted in disbelief before Fiora could respond.

"Argo City was destroyed along with Krypton!" she yelled at Su Sheng.

"Is that so?" Su Sheng smirked and motioned them to follow him toward the collection room. Fiora and Astra, both puzzled, trailed after him.

"Take a look at this." Su Sheng gestured toward a shrunken city in a glass case on the shelf.

"Is this... Argo City? A model?" Astra leaned in closer, her eyes widening in shock. "No... I see people inside! This... this is a real, shrunken Argo City?"

Astra could see tiny figures inside, panicked Kryptonians looking up at her like she was a giant looming over their world, her face appearing enormous compared to the entire city.

"Argo City didn't perish with Krypton," Su Sheng explained, his voice calm but filled with weight. "More than 30,000 Kryptonians survived, including your sister, Alura. I found this city by chance and brought it back. You'll be in charge of managing it from now on."

As his words hung in the air, a beam of light shot from the device, shrinking Fiora and Astra instantly.

"I'll bring Supergirl here soon. You know exactly how to explain things to her," Su Sheng said with a smirk before sending the two of them into the miniaturized city.

He didn't concern himself with what would unfold inside Argo City. He knew that seeing Alura again would clear up any doubts for Fiora and Astra. After leaving the Disciple, Su Sheng returned to his apartment, studying Rodsburg's research on Alien Superman and Red Kryptonite. It was clear: Rodsburg was a genius. The formula for cultivating Alien Superman and synthesizing Red Kryptonite was meticulously documented.

Red Kryptonite, once activated, had the capacity to cause Kryptonians to lose their sense of control. Even slight exposure could make them arrogant, while prolonged contact could transform them into embodiments of rage and violence.

Days passed quickly. During this time, Supergirl and her team worked tirelessly to rebuild the DEO, capturing the remaining members of Superman's fallen Justice League and aiding governments in re-establishing their satellite networks. The immediate threat of Superman had faded, though the ramifications still lingered.

Meanwhile, Su Sheng had been monitoring both Earth-1 and Earth-2. Siobhan Smythe, continuing her nightly visits, had shown no signs of transforming into the Silver Banshee despite the increasing sums of money. Her mysterious transformation seemed indefinitely delayed.

Finally, Supergirl reached out to Su Sheng after days of hard work.

At Supergirl's apartment, Su Sheng was surprised to find quite a few familiar faces gathered: Supergirl, Alex, Lucy Lane, Martian Manhunter, and Zod.

"What's this? A tribunal?" Su Sheng teased as he entered.

Supergirl shook her head, pulling him to the living room. "Just tying up a few loose ends."

"The first issue," Su Sheng said, turning to Zod with a smile, "is whether we send Zod home."

Zod nodded. "Now that the crisis with Superman is over, it's time for me to return to my world."

"Fair enough. I'll take you back, no problem." Su Sheng waved his hand, summoning a shockwave wormhole. Zod said his farewells to the others and stepped through without hesitation.

With Zod gone, Su Sheng revealed his true identity and origins to the group.

"Parallel worlds? The ancient god of Krypton?" Even with their collective experience, the group was taken aback by Su Sheng's revelations.

"So, are you an Earthling or a Kryptonian?" Lucy Lane asked, curious.

"An Earthling."

"Then how did you become a god of Krypton?" Lucy continued, still puzzled.

Su Sheng shrugged. "In the grand scheme of things, it's not unusual for people to be mistaken for gods over time. Time travel has a way of doing that."

Though they had more questions, Su Sheng dismissed the group, who reluctantly left.

Once they were alone, Su Sheng wrapped his arms around Kara's waist and smiled. "Are you mad at me?"

"You're the god of Krypton; do I even have the right to be mad?" Kara pouted, though her frustration was evident. "I feel like there's still a lot you're not telling me."

"Are you happy when you're with me?" Su Sheng asked softly.

"Yes," Kara replied after a brief pause.

"Then that's all that matters. As long as you're happy with me, nothing else is important. You might not like everything about me, but that's who I am." He pulled her closer, silencing her with a kiss.

Kara hesitated briefly but soon gave in, and before long, they were entwined in each other's arms. This time, though, Kara was more restrained, careful not to destroy the apartment during their passion.

After a while, Su Sheng brought Kara to the Disciple and shrank her down before sending her into Argo City. He waited outside while Kara reunited with her mother, Alura.

After more than two hours, Supergirl finally emerged from the city, visibly moved. She returned to her normal size, tears of joy streaming down her face as she leapt into Su Sheng's arms.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" Kara exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion. "I saw my mother again. I... I can't believe it."

Overcome with happiness, she kissed him fiercely. But as the moment passed, her face grew serious.

"I want to take them out of there!" Kara declared.

Su Sheng's expression turned stern. "That's not going to happen."

Kara's smile faltered. "Why not?"

"I can compromise with you once, but there won't be a second time," Su Sheng said firmly. "First of all, they can't leave Argo City, but you're free to visit whenever you like. Second, think about it—are you asking to bring your mother out, or all 30,000 Kryptonians? You know what kind of chaos that would cause on Earth."

Kara's excitement dimmed as reality sank in. "I... I understand," she murmured, realizing how unrealistic her request had been.

While bringing her mother out might be possible, introducing 30,000 Kryptonians to Earth would be catastrophic. Humanity, still reeling from Superman's actions, wouldn't accept the presence of so many Kryptonians. Even the DEO and her friends would oppose it.

Kara sighed. "You're right. It was a foolish idea."
