American Comics: The Strongest Villain

Chapter 222: Chapter 220: Kryptonite in Human Form, That's How It Hangs!

"Where did you find it?" Supergirl asked, disbelief evident in her voice as she held the Big Elsa flower.

Su Sheng chuckled and lightly scratched her cheek. "I didn't just find the flower, there's more to it than that. It's a bit complicated, but I'll explain later. For now, I need to deal with something with Superman."

"What are you doing?" Supergirl asked, still dazed by everything that had unfolded.

"Rod Technologies," Su Sheng replied. "I asked them to help study some Kryptonian technology, and now I need to get it back."

"Kryptonian technology? Why would you let them study that?" Supergirl froze, a wave of concern washing over her.

Su Sheng smiled as he saw her confusion. "What do you think? Do you believe I'd do something harmful? You know my true identity now—you should understand that I don't need Kryptonian tech to accomplish most of what I want. I did it for fun... and for other reasons. Take Zod, for example. He's from another world."

"You brought him here?" Supergirl asked in disbelief. Zod, standing nearby, was equally shocked.

Su Sheng gave a knowing smile. "That's right. I brought him here."

Zod, still processing this revelation, couldn't help but ask, "If you believe Superman is such a threat, why don't you just deal with him yourself?"

Su Sheng glanced at Supergirl. "Could I kill Superman?"

Supergirl froze, her emotions in turmoil. Despite being opposed to Superman now, the thought of killing him was something she couldn't bring herself to accept. She remained silent, but the answer was clear to everyone.

The unspoken truth dawned on the others: Su Sheng was holding back because of his feelings for Supergirl. It wasn't that he couldn't defeat Superman; it was that he didn't want to do it in a way that would hurt her.

Su Sheng turned to leave. "Put your doubts aside. I'll be back soon."

Supergirl stepped forward. "I'm coming with you."

Su Sheng smiled at her determination. "Alright."

Together, they left the base. Once outside, Su Sheng floated into the air, glancing over at Supergirl with a playful grin. "Want to race?"

Supergirl blinked, then smiled. "Okay."

Boom!

Supergirl shot into the sky, flying at top speed. Su Sheng chuckled and quickly followed. The two raced across the sky, their speeds perfectly matched, darting between clouds as they headed for Metropolis.

Before long, they arrived in the heart of the city, where the former City Hall had been transformed into the Hall of Justice.

Boom! Boom!

Both landed at almost the same time.

"You let me win," Supergirl remarked, turning toward Su Sheng. "Even though I haven't heard of the Holy Spirit before, if you're really some ancient Kryptonian god, you can't be that slow."

Su Sheng grinned. "You're my girlfriend. I'm allowed to let you win."

Supergirl's expression softened, but she was still grappling with the flood of revelations. If it hadn't been for the Big Elsa flower, she wasn't sure how she would have reacted to everything.

As soon as they landed, several figures flew out from the Hall of Justice. Superman, along with Fiora, Astra, and Norn, approached them.

"What are you doing here?" Superman asked coldly, directing his question at Su Sheng, not Supergirl.

Su Sheng shrugged with a smirk. "I came to pick a fight."

He pointed at Astra, motioning for her to step forward. "You. Come here and take your beating."

The entire group's expressions darkened.

"Why?" Superman asked, stepping in front of Astra to shield her.

Su Sheng waved dismissively. "Do you really not know why? Let me vent some anger, and while you're at it, return what doesn't belong to you. That's all."

"What if I refuse?" Superman's tone was firm, his eyes narrowing.

Su Sheng grinned wider. "Then it just means you'll get beaten even worse."

With that, Su Sheng's fist glowed with the energy of green kryptonite, and he swung it toward Superman.

His punch wasn't particularly fast, but Superman couldn't dodge it. The blow landed squarely on his chest, sending him flying backward and smashing into the steps of the Hall of Justice. His chest visibly caved in from the impact.

"You... how... this is kryptonite, but..." Superman gasped, coughing up blood as he stared at Su Sheng in disbelief. He felt the kryptonite's effects during the punch, but there had been nothing on Su Sheng's fist. Even more confusing, the other Kryptonians weren't affected.

Su Sheng's smile widened. The kryptonite energy spread throughout his body, and in an instant, Fiora, Astra, and Norn collapsed to the ground in pain, weakened by the sudden exposure.

"This... this is impossible!" Fiora gasped, looking at her anti-kryptonite suit. "Our equipment is still operational... how can this affect us?"

Su Sheng stepped forward, speaking calmly. "That kind of equipment has its limits. If the kryptonite energy is strong enough, it'll overwhelm the protection."

He walked over to Superman, who was still sprawled on the ground, and stepped on his chest before turning his attention to Astra.

With one swift motion, Su Sheng kicked Astra to the ground.

"Auntie!" Supergirl cried out, rushing to Su Sheng's side. "Don't hurt her!"

Su Sheng looked at her coolly. "Don't be so soft-hearted."

Supergirl hesitated but pressed on. "I know we don't see things the same way. I understand why you hid your true self from me, and I won't ask you to change how you operate. But she's still my aunt."

"Auntie, hand over what you've taken," Supergirl pleaded. "Otherwise, I don't know how long I can hold him back."

"I... I don't know where it is!" Astra responded weakly.

"Auntie!" Supergirl became frantic.

"She's telling the truth," Fiora interjected. "It wasn't Astra who did this. It was Norn. Only he knows where it is!"
