Chapter 49
In a pitch-black, cramped space, two rough breathing sounds came from the innermost stall of the bathroom. One of the voices, seemingly unable to bear it, let out a soft, whimpering plea, but it was quickly drowned out by the sound of running water.
Jiang Shiyu was pulled into the bathroom in a daze by someone, and as soon as he heard the door slam shut, his body was pressed against the door. Before he could say anything, his lips were sealed by someone else’s, completely silencing him.
The dark, confined space, along with the danger of being discovered at any moment by someone walking in, made him extremely tense and nervous. His mind fluctuated between moments of clarity and confusion, turning into a chaotic mess under the other person’s control.
His lips had long since lost feeling, and his hands were pinned above his head by the tall, dominant boy in front of him. His legs were forced apart, leaving him completely under the boy’s control, unable to move—he could only endure the onslaught.
Shen Li moved away from his lips and slowly trailed downward. The neckline of Jiang Shiyu’s floral shirt was wide, exposing his slender neck. With a series of quick, light kisses, Shen Li trailed down his neck, while one hand slipped inside his shirt after undoing the second and third buttons.
Not knowing what Shen Li touched, Jiang Shiyu suddenly jolted, letting out a soft moan from his throat.
He tilted his head back, tears uncontrollably slipping from the corners of his eyes, wetting the hair above his ears. “No, please, Shen Li.”
Shen Li lifted his head from his collarbone, his voice cold and commanding in the darkness, “Say you want it.”
Jiang Shiyu’s body trembled, sobbing softly, not daring to make too much noise for fear that someone at the door might come in and discover their situation.
Shen Li’s fingers applied more pressure, making him tremble even more violently.
Shen Li leaned in closer, his voice clearer, “Say you want it.”
Jiang Shiyu, crying, opened his mouth, “I want it, ah…”
“Want who?”
“Want, want…”
Rough fingers continued to tease through the fabric. The floral shirt they were wearing was a bit coarse, and Jiang Shiyu’s delicate skin couldn’t withstand such friction.
He started to struggle, but like a small kitten in front of a lion, his struggle was futile. He was quickly overpowered and subdued.
“Say you want Shen Li.”
“I want, I want Shen Li.”
“Jiang Shiyu wants Shen Li.”
Jiang Shiyu, dazed and overwhelmed, could only repeat after Shen Li, “Jiang Shiyu… wants… Shen Li.”
Shen Li let go of him, lowering his head to offer some comfort. “Good.”
When the two of them exited the bathroom, they ran into a pair of boys who were horsing around, nearly bumping into them. However, Shen Li, with his tall and imposing figure, didn’t give way and instead shoved them aside with his shoulder while holding Jiang Shiyu close.
“Watch where you’re going,” one of the boys cursed.
Shen Li stopped, not turning around, but slightly tilting his head, his pitch-black eyes coldly glaring at the other boy.
The boy who had been so aggressive just moments ago instantly froze under Shen Li’s intimidating gaze, falling silent and avoiding his eyes. When he inadvertently glanced at the person he was holding, his breath caught.
What a stunning boy.
The boy, who was mostly hidden in the embrace of the tall boy, had only a delicate chin and a fair neck exposed. In the dim light, his features appeared exquisitely beautiful, like the most delicate and fragile flower blooming quietly in the garden, nestled peacefully against the broad chest.
Shen Li didn’t linger long and quickly led Jiang Shiyu away.
The two who were left behind stood dazed for a moment before one of them snapped out of it.
“Damn, the boy that guy was holding was so good-looking.”
Meanwhile, the two main characters had found a quiet spot by the sea. Shen Li brought over two camping chairs from the bustling crowd, along with some orange soda and snacks.
Jiang Shiyu, having been tormented earlier, still hadn’t recovered. He sat in the camping chair, his waist feeling weak, and the sea breeze brushing against him kept lifting his shirt, causing it to rub against his chest, which was sore and sensitive to any touch.
Seeing his pouty, kitten-like expression, Shen Li turned his chair around and patted his own thigh.
“Lie down.”
Jiang Shiyu gave him a suspicious look, as if asking what he was up to now.
Shen Li chuckled helplessly. In Jiang Shiyu’s mind, he was already a villain.
“Isn’t your waist sore? Lying on my lap will make it better.”
Jiang Shiyu’s eyes widened in anger. “Who made it sore in the first place?”
Shen Li leaned in and kissed his puffed-up cheek, each kiss deflating his little pufferfish until he was fully deflated, leaving him completely deflated and dejected.
It always ends like this—whenever Shen Li kisses him, he can’t keep up his angry act for more than a few seconds before completely giving in. It’s so frustrating.
Shen Li gently pressed on his waist, and with that, Jiang Shiyu’s upper body instantly went limp, allowing himself to be embraced and laid down on Shen Li’s lap.
He wiggled his head from side to side, complaining, “It’s hard and uncomfortable. It makes my waist feel even more sore.”
Shen Li then placed one hand under his head, cradling his face. “Is this better, my noble little prince?”
Jiang Shiyu’s cheeks felt warm. Shen Li was such a troublemaker, always coming up with these strange nicknames.
Waves crashed against the rocks on the shore, and not far away, the lively and noisy crowd could be heard. They leaned against a tree adorned with strings of lights, quietly listening to the sound of the sea, feeling an immense sense of peace.
“That last round of the game, where we had to guess two flavors of candy… You did that on purpose, didn’t you? Kissing me so intensely,” Jiang Shiyu suddenly asked.
Shen Li, who had been unconsciously tapping his fingers on the chair, paused for a few seconds before responding naturally, “Yes.”
The person lying on his lap, who had been lying on his side, suddenly flipped over to lie on his back, facing him. From this low angle, it’s said that people tend to look uglier when viewed from below.
But even from this angle, Shen Li still looked handsome, with his sharp features and distinguished appearance.
Jiang Shiyu chuckled softly, feeling a warmth swell in his chest.
Under the streetlamp, after Shen Li asked that question, Jiang Shiyu was momentarily stunned. He hadn’t expected him to figure it out like that. Left with no choice, he confessed about the guy who had lost the game and asked him for his WeChat number as a punishment.
At that time, Shen Li’s expression hadn’t changed much, he simply asked softly, “Baby, will you play a few more rounds with me?”
Even though Jiang Shiyu was annoyed by Zhou Zheng and his friends, he couldn’t refuse Shen Li’s request and nodded in agreement.
On the way back, Shen Li took his hand and held it, flashing a comforting smile, saying, “It’s okay, leave it to me.”
Looking back now, it seemed that everything had been planned. He had forgotten that Shen Li was an expert at hiding his emotions. At the time, Jiang Shiyu simply thought he wanted to play the game a little longer because he found it fun.
In truth, his intention was to assert his dominance and leave Zhou Zheng with no room for fantasy.
Jiang Shiyu might not have noticed, but Shen Li had seen it clearly. When they left, Zhou Zheng’s face was already looking quite sour. He hadn’t told his friends that Jiang Shiyu had refused to give his WeChat number, but Shen Li had publicly declared their relationship, making him lose face.
Jiang Shiyu smiled brightly, his long eyelashes fluttering like a happy little fool, but his expression quickly changed. He furrowed his brow and lightly slapped Shen Li on the chin.
“You’re not allowed to do that to me in public anymore. What if someone had walked in and seen us?”
Shen Li, caught off guard by the slap, wondered if he had learned how to change expressions in a split second. His little face was already showing another expression.
“Didn’t you like it? You seemed more sensitive than usual. You were trembling at the slightest touch, curling up in my arms.”
Jiang Shiyu was no match for this old rascal, blushing deeply at his teasing. He quickly covered his mouth with both hands, trying to defend himself, “That’s not true! You’re not allowed to say that! You’re also not allowed to do that next time, you’re so annoying.”
The two of them playfully bickered in their quiet corner for a while before the bonfire party slowly began. People gathered around the blazing fire, and across the road, many from the nearby town, young and old alike, came to watch, making the beach bustling with activity.
When Jiang Shiyu and Shen Li approached, the bonfire was already surrounded by four or five circles of people. At the center were locals, dressed in traditional attire, performing local dances. Shirtless men were running around the fire with torches, and professionals stood at the four corners, holding flaming rods, performing fire-breathing tricks, as flames shot high from their mouths, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
As the scene grew more lively, the crowd thickened, pushing Jiang Shiyu and Shen Li outward. Standing among the crowd, Jiang Shiyu kept stretching on tiptoe to see the performance. Watching his head bobbing up and down like a mole in a whack-a-mole game, Shen Li bent down, wrapped his arms around his knees, and lifted him up.
Caught off guard, Jiang Shiyu hurriedly turned to wrap his arms around his neck.
“What are you doing?”
“Weren’t you trying to watch? I’m holding you up so you can see everything.”
Jiang Shiyu glanced around, seeing that no one was paying attention to them, and leaned in to whisper, “Put me down quickly, only kids get carried like this.”
Shen Li’s eyes softened with a smile, the firelight reflecting a warm, gentle gaze as he looked at Jiang Shiyu, “You’re just a kid to me.”
With that, he lifted him even higher. “Now you can see everything.”
Jiang Shiyu, unable to break free, had no choice but to watch the entire performance while being held up by Shen Li. Luckily, among the many couples around them, it wasn’t unusual for the guys to lift their girlfriends for a better view, so he wasn’t the only one being carried.
After the performance ended, it was time for the group dance around the bonfire. With so many visitors, people had to raise their hands and volunteer to join the dance. Jiang Shiyu was excited, his eyes shining brightly.
“Do you want to join them?”
Shen Li asked.
He hesitated for a moment but then nodded.
“Raise your hand.”
Jiang Shiyu immediately raised his hand high. Being held by Shen Li, he was already taller than most, and the organizer in the center quickly noticed him, selecting him to join the dance. He was so happy that he couldn’t stop smiling, pulling Shen Li along as they squeezed through the crowd into the open area. Around them were others who had volunteered to join the dance.
Everyone exchanged eager and excited glances.
Once enough people had gathered, a man and woman in traditional attire began arranging the participants into formation and teaching them the dance moves.
The steps were familiar from television: holding hands, raising them high, stepping back, lowering them, and then jumping and kicking to the sides. It was simple, but when everyone joined in around the bonfire, it looked very impressive.
As the music started, everyone began to dance with the traditionally dressed men and women leading the way. Jiang Shiyu was initially a bit shy, holding back his movements. Next to him was a young girl, who, though her moves were clumsy, danced joyfully, swaying her hips and shaking her head with enthusiasm.
Seeing Jiang Shiyu’s reserved dancing, she shouted out to him, “Don’t be afraid! Just dance! No one knows you here, so let loose and have fun!”
Her energy was contagious, and he gradually loosened up, jumping forward with the music, feeling the heat of the bonfire. The flames reflected in everyone’s eyes and lit up their faces.
The more he got into the music and the environment, the brighter his smile became. His round eyes sparkled with joy, and he grinned, showing a neat row of small teeth as he beamed at Shen Li. Seeing this side of Jiang Shiyu, Shen Li felt that this trip was more than worth it.
Ever since he had known Jiang Shiyu, he had always been frail, prone to illnesses, and seemed like a weak little kitten. He couldn’t run or jump without getting out of breath, and his physical condition limited his actions and suppressed his emotions, making him appear cold and aloof, often out of place in the lively scenes around him.
But now, he was full of life and energy, his eyes burning bright. He was no longer the delicate little prince living in a glass house but a small rose that he had carefully nurtured and brought to bloom.
