Chapter 8
Chapter 8: You Bastard, I Think You Just Don’t Keep Your Word:
Xiao Cheng’s left eye slowly turned dark red, and under Liu Yanran’s mother’s shocked gaze, the inner pupil transformed into the strange kaleidoscope Sharingan known as “Amaterasu.”
“What the hell?” Xiao Cheng thought to himself. All it took was a kiss to trigger such a powerful reward! If he managed to extort more from her, would the rewards be unimaginable?
His thoughts raced with the possibilities, but he quickly snapped out of it. As much as the temptation was there, going too far could backfire. He needed to tread carefully—he had already come out on top.
The woman finally snapped back to reality. Using her transferred power, she forcefully separated herself from Xiao Cheng, breaking the moment. A strand of silver thread, symbolic of their brief contact, hung in the air before vanishing. She stood, glaring at him with tear-filled eyes, her body shaking with anger.
“You shameless bastard! You said it was just a kiss on the cheek, but you…” The women spat, her voice trembling with rage.
But despite her anger, her words carried no real threat.
Xiao Cheng couldn’t help but chuckle, his tone dripping with mockery. “Come on, Aunt. You called me a low-class, shameless man—did you really think I’d keep my word?”
He continued with a smirk, “And honestly, how could any man resist when faced with someone as beautiful as you? Control is a hard thing to keep in such moments.”
As he spoke, he reached out to wipe the tears from her face. Before he could touch her, she slapped his hand away.
“Don’t touch me again, you bastard!” She snapped, her voice laced with anger and humiliation.
If it had just been a kiss on the cheek, she might have been able to accept it. But now… her tongue still tingled from his kiss. This was the lowest point of her life, a moment of utter humiliation. How could she face her husband after this? Even though she hadn’t given herself to him fully, she felt unclean, tainted.
And worst of all, the boy in front of her was her daughter’s classmate. If her daughter found out… how could she ever look her in the eyes again?
“Aunt, there’s no need to get so worked up,” Xiao Cheng said casually. “It’s just a kiss. No one will ever know unless you tell them.”
He was unfazed by her outburst, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
“No one will know?” She repeated, her voice thick with disbelief. “Do you think I’m like those women you play around with? My own husband hasn’t kissed me like that in years, and you…”
Xiao Cheng shrugged, crossing his arms. “So what now, Aunt? I mean, I can make it up to you. How about a little compensation?”
“You… Forget it,” she said bitterly, her voice barely a whisper. “I’ll just consider myself bitten by a dog. But you better remember your promise. If you try to blackmail me again, I swear, I’ll hunt you down no matter where you hide!”
Xiao Cheng smiled, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t worry, Aunt. I won’t go back on my word. But there is one more thing I need to clarify.”
“What is it?” she asked warily, a bad feeling creeping up her spine. Knowing Xiao Cheng, this wasn’t going to be good.
“I promised not to send the photos and videos to the mayor’s office,” Xiao Cheng explained, “but I didn’t say anything about not giving them to anyone else.”
His words, along with the playful smirk on his face, sent a surge of fury through her. She could barely contain the urge to lash out.
“You… You despicable, shameless little punk! Are you trying to play me?” She shouted, her voice shaking with anger.
“Play you? Aunt, I kept my promise, didn’t I?” Xiao Cheng grinned. “I never said anything about the mayor’s office—only that I wouldn’t send the video there. I did what I said.”
“You bastard! You’re just a liar!” She cried, her voice breaking with emotion. Tears welled up in her eyes again as she realized she had been duped from the very beginning.
From the start, Xiao Cheng had never intended to let her or her family off the hook. She had shown him the greatest restraint, even at the cost of nearly betraying her husband, and in return, he had taken advantage of her vulnerability.
“Aunt, don’t be unreasonable now. Our agreement was crystal clear. No photos or videos to the mayor’s office. That’s what I said,” Xiao Cheng said, his voice calm and matter-of-fact. “But did you really think one little kiss would make me give up something as valuable as those photos and videos?”
He leaned back, arms crossed, watching her with an amused smile. “Tell you what. How about this? If you give me ten kisses in the future, I’ll promise not to use the video to threaten you anymore. Sound fair?”
His words were filled with confidence. He could have demanded more, but he knew pushing too far might make her refuse altogether. Ten kisses seemed just the right number to get what he wanted without overplaying his hand.
For a moment, the young woman’s eyes blazed with fury. Her power surged through her, making her long hair and purple dress flutter wildly in the air. Her beauty was both ethereal and dangerous.
“You little bastard,” she whispered, her voice shaking with rage. “Do you really think I won’t kill you right here?”
Xiao Cheng’s body tensed, though he kept his expression relaxed. He couldn’t afford to underestimate her power now. “Oh? So Aunt’s finally done caring about her daughter and husband’s safety?”
The tension between them hung in the air. He might have pushed her too far, but Xiao Cheng was ready for whatever came next.
