Adventure Time : A True Journey

Chapter 19: 19 Power of the Nomicon, the Teingu and a spec of Conqueror's Haki!!!

POV: Finn The Human

The shogun accumulated red energy in its hand and Finn admired how it was seemingly alive and vibrant, dancing in the darkness like a fire while coloring the surrounding a slight red hue.

The shogun then clenched its fist with the red energy and the surroundings cracked under the force, like breaking glass or shattered glass, like being in a mirror dimension that has fallen apart.

. It was as if the world had collapsed, leaving behind a dark blankness with nothing but him and the shogun within.

And then, the surroundings again rejoined together, like a puzzle was solved and all the broken pieces had come back together to form the full picture.

' I'll never get used to that' Finn thought while shaking his head, trying to get rid of the dizziness he felt.

This time, they were neither in some mysterious high place nor an open field with a beautiful view. They were not even in a building whatsoever.

The best way to explain their surrounding was that they looked cold and damp. And in fact, that thought made sense. Why? They were in a cave at the moment. A very well-lit cave.

The cave itself was not what caught his attention, it was quite boring in fact. What truly attracted the eye were all the roles of paper all over the place, lining the cave walls and also hanging from it. Looking decorative in a sense.

They all had the same kanji word written on them and Finn could be sure from how emphasized the word was, that a great danger was here. Or something of importance was kept here.

" SEAL "

Looking all around the cave, his mind started forming the pattern between each seal placement around the cave until an image formed in his head, the formation that had come from him doing this was a 9, a curved nine he had grown to know was the symbol of the ninja.

Finn started moving following behind the walking Shogun the short distance it had traversed. The journey was silent and somber, the dark mood of the cave affecting them, up until they arrived at the base of a red and black pedestal holding an even more breathtaking object.

" This is the THE EYE OF ETERNITY . . , "

A yellow orb lay rested on the pedestal, both majestic and at the same time breathtaking.

It was like a yellow pearl with a glowing center that almost felt like the sun and each bright spec within it sparkled like stars.

Finn found himself getting lost in the vortex that was the Eye of Eternity, pulling him in and refusing to let go of his gaze.

" . . . A long time ago, there was a demonic bird known as the Teingu, a mystical force that spread destruction throughout the land. "

Finn listened on but his gaze never left the orb and he only felt as if he were seeing the story happen before his eyes, like the orb was showing him the story.

" Back in those days, there was a family of ninjas, a group of powerful and mysterious people who had staked their lives at protecting the peace in those days. "

" The first ninja took immediate action against this new threat and fought the Teingu but was unable to defeat it. . . It was too powerful."

Finn saw the image of a tall figure with dark black feathers and a mask in battle with a smaller figure in a ninja suit.

The battle was long and hard-fought but the ninja figure lost in the end and retreated, injured but still determined.

" Until, after years of research they found the source of its powers: its feathers. And by shear luck, he managed to steal the Teingu's feathers and then infused their powers into his ninja suit. "

It changed to an image of the ninja figure taking on a victorious quest of stealing the feathers of the tall figure and then the ninja figure infusing the powers from the feathers into the ninja suit.

" The feathers gave the suit mysterious powers and forever linked the ninja and the Teingu together, their strengths and weaknesses shared. "

There was the ninja figure displaying great feats, like enhanced strength as well as impressive speed.

"And with this new awesome power, the first ninja managed to defeat the demonic bird and imprison it within the eye of eternity. But that was long in the past. "

Finally, the tall Teingu fell to the ninja's might and was imprisoned in the Eye of Eternities.

The story he was seeing came to an end and his vision finally returned to him.

Finn had been deep into listening to the story and was only broken from his concentration when it was over.

He was mesmerized by what he saw and the emotion he felt from the story as he both watched and listened. Like he was part of the story himself

" But after the interference by the goddess on both the Nomicon and the ninja mask, the eye of eternity now holds the powers of the Tengu for the current user to use. Meaning you Finn the human, would have to channel the power directly from the eye of eternity to have your ninja suit! "

Finn was surprised and happy. The goddess had once again not disappointed when she said he would receive the full ninja package.

Wasn't this an upgrade? His ninja suit would be made from the full power of the Tengu!

Did this mean it would be stronger? He did not know.

But then Finn remembered from the story of the Shogun about the Tengu and the ninja sharing both their strength and weakness and he felt it wasn't that great once again.

Maybe a sort of balancing factor for everything.

" What do I have to do? " Finn asked seriously.

This was it, there was no more turning back.

It was either he accepted what was coming next or he would miss this opportunity. He just knew this somehow.

" All you need to do is accept the power of the Teingu. For it to dwell within you and for its great power to mold itself into a suitable suit for your use. " The shogun said.

Immediately, the Eye of Eternity combusted into a great burst of flame pushing the darkness away. Its once yellow core with yellow specs had been replaced with a great crimson, a sort of malicious color that spread throughout the whole cave.

The flame was huge and destructive, reaching the upper part of the cave walls, maybe scorching it. It was a fiery mixture of orange and red and with the sheer might it gave off, Finn could feel the latent destructive potential it held.

Finn's eyes never left the huge flame.

The reason for this was due to him being challenged at this very moment. And his body could only freeze at the sudden presence watching him.

From the flame, he had perceived a presence watching him, scanning him, and judging him.

Finn was even sure he had seen a pair of demonic eyes gazing at him.

Funnily enough, he felt curiosity in those eyes.

But Finn maintained the abrupt stare, showing no semblance of backing down.

He believed this was a sort of trial by the demonic bird itself or maybe what was left of it. It did not matter. But Finn was very sure that this was what he needed to do. To showcase his own will to the bird, and his resolve to achieve his goals.

And what were his goals, was it not obvious? To be the best there was!

Leo would never say he was a normal guy, and in fact, he believed himself to be exceptional. To do what he had done in his world not only needed talent but also the will to achieve the impossible no matter the circumstances.

And it was with this stubborn will that he refused to have any less in this new life of his, he would either be the best or nothing. There was no in-between.

He had already been given an opportunity with this new life of his in this dangerous new world and he understood that only the strong could live comfortably.

Finn felt the pressure increase, or was he simply nervous? But his stance had never been firmer, and oddly, a sort of defiance was rising within him, wishing to be let loose. Bubbling like a slowly erupting volcano.

And to show the Tengu that there was no one more worthy than him.

" Yield you stupid bird! "

Finn raged out loud and he felt like the defiance had burst from his body like a wave of his will crashing against the raging flame.

Surprisingly, the clash only lasted a moment and he noticed the demonic eyes had flinched or was it his imagination?

Even the pressure that was increasingly making it harder to breathe disappeared completely and the once mighty flame that rose high and mightily quieted down, slowly reducing in size until it was palm-sized.

More gentle and docile.

" You've done well Finn. And you have shown great potential, even being able to make use of Conqueror's Haki at this young age! "

So that was it! That was what made the Teingu back down.

" You have shown you not only possess the talent but also the will for greatness. And it would be my honor to help mold that greatness. "

The shogun said and portrayed itself on its knees, but it was speaking this time with a sort of reverence Leo was quick to recognize.

Wasn't this like back on his earth when people became too obsessed with him? They even started to ask him to do weird things.

" Be assured Finn, you will become the greatest hero the lands have ever known. That I PROMISE YOU !"

Finn felt a shiver run down his being, and weariness immediately rose in him. How was that possible, did he not luck a body?

And why did the words the Shogun spoke make him feel a certain fear rise in him, was this his instinct telling him the future was not going to be easy?

Finn glanced at the docile flame that was waving silently on the pedestal and then at the kneeling Shogun, who was now acting more like some sort of monk as it continuously mumbled to itself.

His fist clenched strongly and Finn could only hope things wouldn't be too bad.

But hadn't he also just used Conqueror's Haki at ten years old?

. . . . . . . . . . . END . . . . . . . . . . .

After countless days of disappearing, the author suddenly appeared, bringing an end to the cliffhanger with him. And peace returned to the world.

Sorry guys for the long disappearance. I had college and all that other stuff, but now I'm back but still partially. What I have managed to do is stockpile a couple of chapters which I will be releasing through out this month.

This chapter marks an end to the introduction to the Nomicon or most parts within it and some of its functions. But future chapters will still explore the Nomicon and all it's mystical abilities.

The next chapters will mostly deal with some adventures, meeting new characters, training, slice-of-life aspects, and even more info dumps. Like for real, the only reason I made Finn start of as a ten year old was for the training aspect, meeting new characters and forming bonds early on.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!! Treat this story as a slice of life majorly because that is what I'm trying to go for with this book.

And once again, if you're willing to support, go by my patron and do so where you will be able to get about 5-6 chapters early which I will release before this week ends and if you're feeling extremely generous, drop by my ko-fi and drop a donation.

My posting will now be two chapter per week, despite my busy schedule and real life stuff, I've managed to stockpile a couple of chapters, so definitely check out my patron for reading ahead.

Normal release will be on Monday and Friday

Thank you all for reading and for the continuous support
