Adventure Time : A True Journey

Chapter 17: 17 . Different places and the Ninja arts

POV: FINN THE HUMAN

" Good answer Hero! "The Shogun figure satisfied with his answer replied

its imposing voice booming throughout the area of the dojo. Even the wall-hung torches were affected, bursting into an extreme blue light that brightened the area blue and calmed down once again.

Finn nodded in amazement.

And he remembered that anything here was possible. He believed that was so because this world was in the mental realm; he could even say it was a sort of dream realm from what he understood in the whole process.

Wasn't his consciousness leaving his body to enter into the book? That meant this realm, in a sort, was its separated dimension strangely.

Like a miniature dimension within the Nomicon.

A realm where he could do anything without the consequence of dying was truly a dream to his mind!

The possibilities were endless. But, Finn also understood he had to be careful with what he did.

Anything could happen, and he would not let his curiosity lead him to dangerous results.

" Young Hero, once you are done with your daydreaming, I would like to show you the areas you will majorly be training while within the Nomicon. " The shogun said.

Finn quickly regained his composure and nodded hurriedly. Was that a hint of sarcasm he could hear in the shogun's words? How could a talking piece of armor speak so sarcastically?

" Oh right." He recalled he was in a place where logic did not matter.

" lead the way, Nomicon. " He addressed the shogun to take the lead in where they would be going. He was still new to this but he knew all it would take was some getting used to.

The shogun waved Its hand, and Finn believed it was more of it showing off than having to do so. This place easily obeyed mental commands.

The walls of the dojo started peeling away, like pages from a book and then the kanji background once again appeared and started wrapping around them.

It was the same feeling he felt earlier as he passed through the wormhole and Finn was sure if he could get nauseous, he would have.

Their fast stop was in front of a large waterfall leading up to an even higher mountain.

The area was peaceful and extremely beautiful to look at and even the slight gentle breeze and the noise the waterfall made acted as a great enhancement of this beauty.

" Like a place to calm the mind," Finn said.

The surroundings were a mixture of weird, dull clouds, and the sky was simply a kanji sky. No blue anywhere in sight.

There were other surrounding waterfalls and mountains surrounding the place, all leading to the formation of the water body that he was now seeing.

'Perhaps it was a small lake.' Finn thought, admiring the still-clear water.

Could he swim in it, he wondered.

In the water itself, there was dominantly the Koi fish, which, from what he saw, was the only fish in the surrounding water.

" This area is called the calming springs. The first ninjas came here to calm their minds and to relax, but it will be here that you will train your patience and resilience and, most importantly, your haki. " The shogun said.

' Slap '

A koi fish came out of nowhere, and in a surprising turn of events, it landed directly on his face!

Finn was very sure that was intentional; how could it not be when such a thing had happened when he was with this Shogun figure?

Was this a small prank? How surprising. He never knew what he thought would be an uptight Nomicon could do such a thing.

" Well played. " Finn said not hiding his growing plan of payback.

He was petty like that.

The shogun figure ignored him impressively.

It raised its hand again, and the solid ground beneath him changed to liquid, and he dropped into it.

Finn held his breath by instinct but the suffocation he awaited never happened. Instead, he popped out in another area.

This time, it was an open field with what he would say was a mountain and stream further away.

They looked more like background pictures to him.

The shogun figure had appeared beside him without his awareness. And it then proceeded to lift its hand, and a cabinet appeared from the ground.

it was primarily black with a red flame design on its front. The cabinet finally split open with a sort of light show and Finn's eyes went wide in excitement.

" Balls, beautiful balls! " Finn found himself shouting as he rushed towards the cabinet.

In admiration of it all. Wasn't it every man's dream at one point in life to be a ninja? Anyone who said otherwise was a liar.

There was a ball that gave off heat and another that gave off an icy cold. There was even the shock ball he had used earlier, small electric lines zapping through it. A truly magnificent sight.

" COUGH " The shogun figure coughed.

Finn quickly wiped away the drool that left his mouth.

There was no reason to show such a sight, but his desire was not diminished. It was only the fact that the tour was still not over that he let the shogun continue.

" In this area, you will practice and be accustomed to all the different types of ninja balls present. " The shogun told him once he calmed down enough.

" What about target practice." Finn blurted out but his eyes remained with the magnificent cabinet.

The shogun snapped his fingers, and countless figures appeared, looking like statues. But Finn believed if commanded, they would come to life in an instant.

He nodded, showing they should move on, and then it happened again. Like he was suddenly lifted from the ground and pulled at extreme speed towards a high place.

He finally stopped when he landed on one of many huge columns in another different area.

The columns pierced what he believed was the cloud cover reaching high above showing the kanji sky.

Different colored words also appeared on the rock columns in a rotating pattern, and from what Finn could see, they held no meaning. Or he simply could not understand their meaning.

" In this area, you will practice most of the ninja skills as well as different abilities such as flight. "

The ninja, from what Finn remembered, had a lot of skills, flight only being one of them; he was sure he would like that part. The capability of flight. To be free from the confines of the gravity of the earth.

" I can work with that. " Finn said and the shogun nodded.

The shogun then approached and pushed him backward, and Finn could only accept the fact. His body going along with the force of the push.

He did not scream though. He already understood that the Nomicon was a natural troll with how it was behaving.

He finally landed, and this time it was in a sort of forest. Why he wondered whether it was a forest was due to the presence of the weird trees surrounding him.

They truly looked like art styles from Edo Japan, and as Finn had already figured out, the Nomicon was heavily based on Japanese culture and maybe slightly Chinese.

The architecture, the drawing as well as the surrounding made him come to that conclusion.

" Here, you will once again train the Ninja abilities, such as the art of stealth as well as your observation haki. "

The forest had a gentle breeze blowing through it and the figurative leaves swayed gently with the breeze in a calming motion.

A Chinese dragon suddenly appeared once again and swallowed him whole, and Finn could only say it was a strange feeling, like going on a ride at a carnival, but it quickly came to an end when the dragon reached another room and disappeared, leaving him behind.

It was a long corridor with seemingly no end with countless doors with the nine symbols on every one of them.

" This is the hall of the ninja arts. Here there are skills present that will assist you in your journey as a ninja. "

Finn was getting excited. They were getting to the good stuff.

. . . . . . .
