A Un-quirked Detective

Chapter 4: Walk and Talk

Noya couldn't go all the way to Izuku's house on his motorcycle, less he risks it being taken away by a police officer.

So he parked in front of a camera to deter people stealing it and took the key with him. He's done it before, so he knows that someone shouldn't take it.

Luckly it wasn't too far of a walk from there to Izuku's house, if it wasn't Noya might have to risk getting his motorcycle stolen.

Unlike his own neighborhood, Izuku's was calm, silent, and was much nicer than his in every way.

A walk here was so calming, if he tried to go on a walk in his own neighborhood, he would probably get shot or something.

"Noya!" Izuku said calling out from the top of his apartment.

Izuku was wearing a backpack and walking down to where Noya was.

"Izuku!" Noya yelled back, "How have you been doing?" Noya asked walking up to him.

"Fine, schools ending so homework is increasing," Izuku admitted, "But it's not a problem!" he then said with a a smile.

"That's good, but may I ask a question?" Noya asked looking at Izuku.

"Is something wrong?" Izuku said nervous.

"It's about an hour after school so why do you still have your backpack on?" Noya asked.

"That's because," Izuku tried to say.

"And your knees," Noya pointed out, "They're shaking," he said.

"You see," Izuku said trying to stop Noya.

"Izuku," Noya said.

"Yes?" Izuku replied.

"What's in your bag?" Noya asked.

"Nothing!" Izuku responded, "Just stuff you know," he said trying his best.

"Whatever is in that bag I'm not carrying back when you eventually get carried away and get too tired to hold it," Noya told Izuku, "Again."

"Um," Izuku said, "Hypothetically, if I had something that I care about in this bag that I'm using to exercise that I don't want to get lost," he pondered., "Could you hypothetically reconsider?"

"If it's something that important you should probably leave it at home," Noya asked, "And why would you try to exercise with something important?" Noya then asked.

"I was thinking if I put my All Might merch in here it be lighter," Izuku said, "Because he lifts my spirit up, I thought his face in my bag would lift my body up," Izuku admitted embarrassed.

"Man, what number are you on for your new workouts?" Noya asked.

"I don't exactly know," Izuku said looking away.

"You can't lie to me," Noya told him, "Also the answer is twenty-five," Noya said causing Izuku to get even more embarrassed.

"I'll go put this back," Izuku said going to run back up to her apartment.

"Good idea," Noya replied watching Izuku run up to his apartment.

"How's your detective business?" Izuku asked walking next to Noya.

"So far so good," Noya replied, "You actually called me after a case, paying rent tonight!" he said with a wide grin on his face.

"What was it about?" Izuku then asked curious about what his friend was doing.

"Nothing much, just a robbery," Noya responded, "How has school been going?" Noya wondered.

"Good!" Izuku said back, "Kachan has been not so nice, but other than that good," Izuku said.

"Bakugo's doing things again is he?" Noya said, "Maybe I should go and teach him a lesson," Noya pondered.

"Maybe you go back to school to finish your assignments," Izuku replied.

"Don't need to," Noya retorted, "I have the necessary grades to pass without doing any other assignments," Noya said proud, "Also I think our teacher will murder me if I come back now after missing all those days."

"He's been skipping your name when he calls role," Izuku commented.

"Makes sense," Noya replies, "Still want to go to UA?" Noya asks.

"Absolutely," Izuku firmly replies.

"There are other hero high schools you can go to you know?" Noya told him, "You don't have to go to the best one," Noya said trying to convince Izuku.

"But I want to be the best Hero I can be," Izuku replied.

"The best hero you CAN be," Noya retorts, "There's a line and it's at UA," Noya tries to explain.

"Noya please," Izuku pleaded, "Me going to UA and becoming a great Hero is my dream," Izuku said.

"Not exactly," Noya said, "Your dream is to become a hero, like All Might, which goes well with your very helpful nature," Noya pointed out.

"Please stop telling me my own motives," Izuku responded, "It's a little weird," he told Noya.

"That's the truest thing you've told me all day," Noya responded with a laugh.

"Do you think I could train at the same place you do?" Izuku asked.

"No, you know Bunko only trains me because I live in that cursed city," Noya answered.

"Makes sense," Izuku said, "Oh!" Izuku then exclaimed, "Look!" he said pointing at a bush on the opposite side of the road they were walking on.

"I remember that bush," Noya responded, "I pulled you out of it when you started to train and collapsed into the bush out of exhaustion, also when I first met you," Noya reminisced.

"Yeah," Izuku sighed.

"You were five," Noya pointed out.

"Why were you in this neighborhood?" Izuku asked.

"This place is right next to a fast-food restaurant, the garbage cans here are a half-eaten paradise," Noya said putting his hands out.

"Anyways, do you think we should head back?" Izuku asked him.

"You're the one who wanted to walk, you make the decision," Noya replied.

"Well, I just, I don't want to intrude, I was thinking about homework, mom may get worried, and," Izuku said starting his muttering.

"I'm fine with whatever you want to do," Noya shrugged, interrupting Izuku.

"Oh, ok," Izuku said slowing down, "Yes, I think we should," Izuku tried to say before getting interrupted by an explosion in front of them kicking up a lot of dust.

"BE AFRIAD," a man said within the dust cloud, "TIS I DESTROCTO!" he said as the dust settled around him.

The villain's body was covered in dark blue, with orange line starting at his feet and going up to his hands, and a purple helmet was on his head.

"GIVE TO ME YOUR BELONGINGS AND YOU WILL LEAVE UNHARMED," Destrocto said laughing manically.

Izuku was stunned into silence not sure what to do. What was this villains quirk? Would he really leave them unharmed? Are the police already on their way?

"Sure," Noya said beginning to take off his coat.

"AH A PERSON WITH BRAINS," Destrocto shouted grabbing the coat, "NOW FOR THE OTHER," he started to say, "Hold on, what is this?" Destrocto said holding up Noya's coat.

"That's my coat," Noya responded.

Destrocto looked at Noya, then back at the coat. He was about to say the coat was like a garbage bag but on closer examination Destrocto wasn't even sure you could call it that.

It looked like it had been sown together quite a few times, and the sows were extremely crummy. Destrocto almost felt bad, before he realized.

"THIS IS DECENT NEIGHBORHOOD!" Destrocto yelled, "THIS IS A TRICK, ISN'T IT?" he asked pointing at Noya.

"I don't live here," Noya responded, "I live in Shiwa Mitsu," he said back.

Shiwa Mitsu was a nickname for the city Noya lived in, the actual name of the city is unknown.

It was hard to keep public records when any offices in the city get robbed within seconds of things being put in there.

"No way!" Destrocto responds, "Me too!" he said excitedly, "I tried to be a villain there but there was too much composition you know?" he said looking at Noya.

"I can guess," Noya replied, "Since were from the same place mind giving me my coat back?" he then asked.

"Of course," Destrocto said handing Noya back his coat, "I know what it's like to live there, so I'll leave you and your friend be," he said looking at Izuku who was too stunted to do anything.

"Thanks for that," Noya responded.

With a hop and a wave Destrocto was gone from the scene leaving Noya and Izuku.

"Well," Izuku said coming out of his trance, "At least he was nice," Izuku pointed out.

"Give me a moment," Noya said putting on his coat, "Yep."

"Yep what?" Izuku asked.

"He took my wallet," Noya said, "Lucky for me I left my paycheck at home in a safe," Noya said.

"I'm still going to call the police," Izuku said pulling out his phone.

"Good idea," Noya commented.
