You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 20:

Chapter 20:

In the past, He Minglang and Xu Qingya would walk home together, laughing and chatting sweetly. But after the incident with Jiang Feng, the atmosphere between them had changed. The warmth that used to linger between them vanished the moment Xu Qingya decided to reconcile with Jiang Feng in front of everyone.

Now, there was an awkward distance. If He Minglang stayed too close to her, what would people think? His thoughts raced. He chose to put some space between them. If this had been before, Xu Qingya would have understood, but now her mind was consumed with thoughts of Jiang Feng’s rejection.

In her past life, Xu Qingya had been secure in her relationship with He Minglang because Jiang Feng never stopped pursuing her. She never believed Jiang Feng would truly walk away from her, and so, she never felt the sting of loss. But this time, things were different.

Jiang Feng had distanced himself, even going so far as to cut ties with her. At first, she thought it was just a game of playing hard to get. She was confident that Jiang Feng would come running back, but when she extended an olive branch, he rejected her publicly. The sharp pang of loss overwhelmed her.

Her relationship with Jiang Feng had lasted over a decade. Since elementary school, Jiang Feng had been by her side, never leaving her, but now… The sudden panic filled her heart, and being around He Minglang didn’t bring her joy anymore.

“Have you heard about the ‘Family Search’ program, Qingya?” He Minglang asked, trying to break the silence.

“…”

“Qingya?”

“…”

“Qingya, are you even listening?” He Minglang frowned as he turned toward her. Seeing her downcast face, his irritation grew. “Are you thinking about Jiang Feng?”

The mention of Jiang Feng’s name was like a knife. The situation Jiang Feng had created left He Minglang’s usual gentle demeanor replaced with a cold, harsh expression.

“Huh? What did you say?” Xu Qingya snapped out of her thoughts, startled by He Minglang’s sharp look.

“I was just thinking,” He Minglang said, his voice lowering, “since Xiao Feng refuses to talk to us, maybe the program’s staff could help. Wouldn’t it be better to have professionals step in?”

He Minglang’s gaze darkened. “I know Xiao Feng hates me, but I don’t want the situation between him and his family to worsen because of me. I’ve apologized, but he won’t listen. The ‘Family Search’ show has a good reputation. What do you think?”

“Looking for relatives? Oh, I’ve heard of that show,” Xu Qingya said, her face lighting up. “I think it’s a good idea, but Xiaofeng might not want to participate.”

“That’s okay,” He Minglang smiled faintly. “I can talk to Uncle about it. If he agrees to participate, Xiao Feng might see how sincere we are, and it could help change his mind.”

“Yeah, I think so too!” Xu Qingya sighed. “Jiang Uncle really has it rough. I’ll contact the show’s crew.”

He Minglang’s smile widened. “Alright.”

Jiang Feng hadn’t expected things to escalate so quickly. The show’s involvement was happening sooner than in his previous life. It seemed that He Minglang, unable to handle the fallout with Xu Qingya, had rushed to get involved.

When Jiang Feng returned home that evening, he found several staff members with cameras gathered around Song Lin. A woman in a white suit, holding a microphone, smiled sharply as she addressed his mother.

“Miss Song, we are from the ‘Family Search’ program. We’ve received a request from Xu Qingya and Mr. Jiang Jiandang. May I ask if you’re willing to go on the show to have an open discussion with Mr. Jiang Jiandang?”

Song Lin hesitated, unsure how to respond. But before she could answer, the host cut in smoothly, “Don’t worry, our program is completely fair and impartial. Mr. Jiang Jiandang said he regrets his actions over the years. He’s tried to reach out to you, but you refused to meet with him. This is why he’s turned to us. You and Mr. Jiang have been together for decades. If you plan to separate, don’t you think it would be best to do so with dignity and clarity?”

The host spoke quickly, leaving Song Lin unable to get a word in edgewise.

“Mom, who are these people?” Jiang Feng stepped forward, standing protectively in front of his mother. He shot a sharp look at the host.

“What you said is quite interesting. How do you know my mother hasn’t already had a clear conversation with Jiang Jiandang?”
