You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 65 - Old Photos II

“So, you wanted to kiss me so much?” Han Zhuo tightened his arms around Bai Xi’s waist, sucked hard on his chest through his shirt, and teased in a low voice. “But not now, honey, we have to hurry. Get down to business.”

Bai Xi’s face suddenly burned, but it was obvious that he couldn’t get angry, because just a few seconds later, the two of them appeared in the Zhou family’s living room.

“Hiss…” Mr. Han took a breath of air.

Bai Xi took back his feet and felt a little better.

“Who is it?” A panicked voice came from the bedroom, and then a petite woman emerged.

“Mrs. Zhou,” Bai Xi greeted quickly with a smile. “It’s us.”

“…I just received a call from Ah Yong.” After seeing who it was, the uneasiness on Mrs. Zhou’s face faded a little. She twisted her clothes and said, “But I didn’t expect that you would come here so soon.”

“I have nothing to do, so let’s have a meal.” Bai Xi continued to smile with a sincere face and asked proactively, “What are you doing?”

“I’m packing Jingjing’s things, some diaries and photos.” Mrs. Zhou turned around and took out a file box from the bedroom. “Ah Yong said this was the doctor’s suggestion and asked me to find some things that she likes and cherishes very much to take to the hospital.”

“These are photos from when we were in college.” Bai Xi helped her lay them out on the table and looked at them one by one. “This is the library; this is the sports meeting… Huh? This is me, but it’s a pity that the photo is blurry.”

“She was taking pictures of this boy,” Mrs. Zhou pointed to Liu Chunchun next to Bai Xi. “There are many photos at home. Jingjing liked him very much at that time, and maybe she still likes him now too.”

Bai Xi was also surprised when he saw so many photos for the first time. Although almost everyone in the school knew that Zhou Jing had been pursuing Liu Chunchun, most of them were just gossiping. Even a few people in the dormitory covered their good brother to escape with laughter. Bai Xi had thought it was just an episode in college life, but he never expected that Zhou Jing had liked Liu Chunchun so seriously.

Most of the photos in the album were of Liu Chunchun, along with clipped interviews from the school newspaper and group assignments they had done together. Although this unrequited love had been fruitless, with Liu Chunchun having firmly rejected Zhou Jing, she still hadn’t thrown away these things. Instead, she had kept them well.

“How is he doing recently?” Mrs. Zhou asked again. “Has he fallen in love? What kind of girl does he like?”

“Chunchun?” Bai Xi said. “He has never been in love, and he’s never said what kind of girl he likes.” In his senior year, he had been infatuated with a beautiful news anchor for a few months, but he was soon distracted by the square dance aunt as a substitute, which showed that it wasn’t true love.

Mrs. Zhou hesitated. “If he doesn’t have a girlfriend yet, can you invite him to the hospital to check on Jingjing? I mean, just tell him that Jingjing is sick and don’t let him see her. That way, the secret won’t be exposed, but just have him say a few words through the door to encourage her to get well. Is that okay?”

“This…” Bai Xi thought for a while. “Chunchun returned to his hometown recently. When he comes back, I’ll ask him first. You can also discuss it with Uncle Zhou, and then we can talk about this matter.”

“Okay,” Mrs. Zhou nodded quickly. In fact, the idea had come to her suddenly, but after all, people with superpowers had a special status, so she needed to obtain her husband’s consent first.

.

In a small northeastern town, Liu Chunchun was taking Mr. Wang to a birthday banquet. The Liu family had many descendants, and the old man’s eightieth birthday was a big event. The relatives and friends who rushed back filled half the hotel lobby, making it noisy and filled with the aroma of wine and food.

With the sound ringing in his ears, Liu Chunchun felt a little nervous amidst the roars of laughter from his uncles and realized that he had made a mistake. He should have guessed in advance that Mr. Wang wouldn’t like such a tacky and boring occasion. Not flipping the table was already considered a big show of respect, but he had actually brought the person here.

Wang Yuanchen sat aside, and as expected, he didn’t eat any food. This table was full of children, and he didn’t have the courage to put his chopsticks into the dishes that were served with pickled vegetables as soon as they arrived. But even if he didn’t want to eat, he still kept holding the chopsticks in his hands. As soon as he put them down, a strange old aunt would appear behind him, place her hands on his shoulders, and ask Xiao Wang with concern, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable? Why don’t you eat?”

That was truly soul crushing.
