Chapter 39 - The Various Usage of Almighty Mr. Han I
“Can I know your name?” Bai Xi asked.
“Linda.” The bartender added sugar to the whiskey and looked at him with a wink and a smile. “Not everyone could know my name, but you can, because it’s obvious that you really have no interest in me.”
The sugar was slowly roasted by the alcohol lamp until it melted. Bai Xi said: “It turns out that making a glass of wine requires such tedious steps.”
“Of course, so the first person who is willing to mix this drink for you must love you very much.” Linda lit the whiskey in the glass, “Who is he?”
Han Zhuo happened to come in from outside the door.
“How’s it going?” Bai Xi hurriedly got down from the high chair.
“He has left.” Han Zhuo simply answered the question and then changed the topic, “It’s snowing outside. Do you want to go to the glass restaurant we discussed tonight? The view will definitely be pretty.”
“Okay.” Bai Xi nodded in agreement, pulling him to sit at the bar, “Would you like something to drink?”
“Hot water, thank you.” Han Zhuo took off his scarf, “I have to drive later.”
Linda curled her lips slightly and put a large cup of hot tea in front of him: “So you abide by human laws?”
“I don’t want to cause trouble.” Han Zhuo replied. He watched Linda top up the coffee with cream, and then asked Bai Xi, “Which wine did you order?”
“It’s Irish coffee.” Linda pushed the glass over, “Wish you enjoy it, sweetheart.”
It should have been a special wine glass for Irish coffee. It had a round shape and exquisite gold lines, and the amount of each ingredient was accurately marked. Bai Xi took a careful sip. The slightly hot coffee and the cold cream melted together, bringing a smooth and sweet taste. The wine taste was very strong, stronger than any cup he had drunk in the office before.
This was a seemingly flawless cocktail, but after Linda went to the kitchen, Bai Xi still whispered to Mr. Han: “I think the one you gave me tasted better.”
“But Linda is one of the best bartenders in the world.” Han Zhuo said with a smile, “You will really dampen her enthusiasm.”
“I didn’t tell her face to face.” Bai Xi pushed the glass in front of him, “Would you like a drink? We can take a taxi to the restaurant in the evening.”
Han Zhuo nodded, picked up the slightly cold coffee, and drank it in one gulp. He then went into the bar and helped Bai Xi make a new cocktail – there was no roasting or melting process, just a few simple mixes. The raw materials were added together, and even the cup was the most ordinary coffee cup.
But it was Bai Xi’s favorite flavor.
He smiled and said: “It tastes good.”
After a while, he couldn’t help but ask: “Aren’t you going to tell me what you said to Shi Tian?”
“The rest is all nonsense. There is only one thing that is beyond my expectation.” Han Zhuo wiped the bar clean. “Qian Ning, who was shot in the head by me, was resurrected in Shi Tian’s laboratory. At present, it looks like…a zombie.”
Bai Xi was a little creeped out.
“He must have been transformed and taken some kind of medicine before he was alive. Shi Tian said that it might be the scientific research project carried out by the third laboratory.” Han Zhuo continued.
Bai Xi frowned slightly when he heard this. If this was really the case, then the credibility of “dreams and humanity” that Wu Zigang had always advertised was quite worrying. After all, it sounded crazy to bring the dead back to life, and it being a zombie-like life didn’t sound like a positive sign.
“We do need to discuss this issue with him face to face, but that is what we should do tomorrow.” Mr. Han smiled, “There is only one task tonight, enjoy the candlelight dinner. This can also be regarded as a reward for all your recent excellent performance.”
“Mr. Han,” Linda just happened to come out with a plate of onion rings. She was sucking her fingers while eating, “please allow me to educate you. Normal people will choose to go to a lively food stall to celebrate, or at least one who can make loud noises. Happy people want a place to drink, not a candlelight dinner covered with roses and champagne.”
Bai Xi: “…”
“It has nothing to do with the champagne or candles. Xiao Bai simply likes the rooftop restaurant and watching the night view of the city through the glass.” Han Zhuo took two beautiful gems on the counter and said, “This is for the bill. I think we should leave.”
“Don’t you need to make a reservation for the glass restaurant in advance?” Linda asked loudly from behind. “After all, there are many couples going there every day, and the seats must be full every night.” She deliberately emphasized the word “couple,” making it sound like she wanted to let the tone hit the ground hard.
“Don’t listen to her nonsense.” Han Zhuo opened the car door, “She really can’t wait for the world to be in chaos.”
Bai Xi fastened his seat belt.
“Or do you actually want to go to a lively place?” Seeing that he didn’t speak, Han Zhuo tried again.
“I still want to go to the glass restaurant,” Bai Xi said and then reminded, “By the way, you drink alcohol just now. Although you are not drunk, you will be caught as drunk driving by the traffic police. You can’t explain to them that you can control it because you are alien.”
Mr. Han: “…”
The air in the car was quiet.
