You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 37 - You Are Not as Good as Teacher Steve II

“Let’s go.” In the cafe, Wang Yuanchen put down his mobile phone and stood up expressionlessly.

Liu Chunchun was relieved because if he continued to stare, he felt like he would probably go blind, and he also had an urgent need to urinate.

“What did Han Zhuo do?” Shi Tian asked enthusiastically.

“You should ask yourself what you did.” Wang Yuanchen took Liu Chunchun’s hand and left the coffee shop without looking back.

Shi Tian’s cell phone also rang at this time.

He pressed the call button and listened to the noisy voice coming from the other side, but no one could tell what the expression was on his face.

“It was indeed Zhao Xiaojuan who killed Mr. Huang,” the pursuers reported truthfully. “It was an extraordinary and terrifying force, and the damage was quite astonishing.”

.

“Wait, why don’t you go back and dispose of the body?” Bai Xi’s voice was soft and hoarse in the car, and his eyes were a little red. It could be seen that he was really frightened.

“Shi Tian will take care of these matters, and even if the police find out first, after doing the autopsy, they will know that these people do not belong to the earth,” Han Zhuo replied. “As long as there are no human casualties, the police will never investigate these matters. On the contrary, they will help cover it up.”

Bai Xi nodded. “Okay.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll be home soon.” Han Zhuo hugged him tightly. “Don’t think about what happened just now. It’ll be fine.”

Bai Xi closed his eyes, but his body was still shaking uncontrollably. Huang Jingyuan’s death state and the terrifying numb touch on his right hand were all stimulating his nerves. As soon as the car stopped, Bai Xi stumbled toward the roadside, knelt on the edge of the flower bed, and vomited.

Passers-by looked at him strangely. Han Zhuo took off his windbreaker and gently wrapped it around him. “It’s okay, it’s okay,” he said soothingly.

Wu Zigang went to the convenience store to buy Bai Xi a bottle of hot drink and then asked, “Do you need a sedative?”

“No need.” Han Zhuo stood up with Bai Xi in his arms. “That’s it for today. If you have anything else to do, we’ll talk about it tomorrow.”

Wu Zigang nodded and watched them enter the building.

.

The two returned to a high-rise apartment on Xinghai Road. Bai Xi began to take off the windbreaker as soon as he entered the door and then said to Han Zhuo, “Burn it.”

Han Zhuo nodded. “Okay.”

Bai Xi closed the bathroom door vigorously and turned on the faucet with his left hand. He didn’t even have time to adjust the hot water first; he couldn’t wait to stand under the shower head and let the cold, biting water pour down from head to toe.

Han Zhuo stayed outside the door, listening to the constant sound of water. After more than an hour, Bai Xi opened the door, wrapped in a bathrobe. His short black hair was messy and dripping with water. There was lingering confusion and fear in his red eyes, and his lips were pale and cold. Even though the bathroom was filled with hot steam, it didn’t seem to bring any warmth to him.

“Xiao Bai,” Han Zhuo called tentatively.

“You go take a shower!” Bai Xi instinctively took a step back. He didn’t want to be tainted with any smell of killing.

“Okay, I’ll go take a shower. Just stand here obediently.” Han Zhuo raised his hands and warned, “Don’t go anywhere.”

Bai Xi ignored him and turned back to the bathroom, continuing to wash his hands frantically under the faucet—almost as if self-abusing.

Han Zhuo finished his shower as quickly as possible. When he came back, Bai Xi’s hands were already red from rubbing, but he still didn’t stop.

“Shall we go out first?” Han Zhuo’s tone was gentle, and his movements were soft, trying to appear as non-threatening as possible. He quietly turned off the faucet, then took the soft rabbit towel next to him and wrapped Bai Xi’s hands in it.

Bai Xi said nothing.

“It’s okay.” Han Zhuo held his shoulders, took him from the bathroom to the bedroom, and let him lie down on the soft quilt.

“I… I’m fine.” Bai Xi swallowed, trying to relieve his anxiety. “Just leave me alone to calm down. I’ll be fine after a while.”

“I know you are fine, and when you calm down, you will find that you have actually done a very brave thing.” Han Zhuo dried Bai Xi’s hair little by little. “But it doesn’t matter. Let’s not think about these things now. Can we talk about something else?”

Bai Xi still held his own right hand tightly.

Han Zhuo held up his wrist, opened his fingers one by one with gentle force, then lowered his head and kissed his palm. “Would this be better?”

Bai Xi shook his head.

“Then what do you want me to do?” Han Zhuo sat closer to him.

“Have you ever, do you know anyone with superpowers?” Bai Xi tried his best to adjust the order of his words. “Can you erase memories?”

Han Zhuo laughed softly. “Erase memories?”

“You’re still laughing!” Bai Xi choked on his words and coughed for a long time.

“Let’s not discuss whether there is such a thing. Even if there is, are you sure you want to erase this memory?” Han Zhuo continued to hold his right hand. “We discussed this topic last night. You might kill someone, and such things are likely to continue in the future. So do you want to erase the memory every time and be immersed in this unprecedented panic every time, or do you want to be like me and gradually become numb and accustomed to killing and death?”

“I don’t want either way.” Bai Xi answered truthfully.

“Then don’t think about it now.” Han Zhuo pressed on his red eyes. “Do you want to rest now, or eat something first?”

Bai Xi hiccupped and leaned over to hug him, just like when he was a child and had to hug a big bear after watching a horror movie to sleep. “Don’t leave yet.”

Han Zhuo leaned against the bed and pulled the quilt to cover the two of them. “Okay, I won’t leave.”

The room was bright and the quilt was warm.

Bai Xi buried his face deeply in Han Zhuo’s arms. The sweet smell of shower gel filled his nose. The warmth from Han Zhuo’s body was transmitted through his pajamas, and the strong arms around his waist made the world feel safer.

After a while, Bai Xi raised his head and looked at him.

“Want to listen to a bedtime story?” Mr. Han smiled. “I can tell you about the three little pigs and the daughter of the sea.”

“Were you like me when you first…?” Bai Xi automatically silenced the word “kill.”

“Me, the first time?” Han Zhuo supported his head with one hand and leaned next to him. “It sounds like there’s some ambiguity?”

Bai Xi kicked him under the quilt.

“I wasn’t,” Han Zhuo smiled. “I was very calm at the time and knew what I was doing, so for a long time afterward, I wondered whether I was a natural-born killer.”

“You are not,” Bai Xi thought for a while and said seriously. “You are a good person.”

.

The mobile phone on the bedside table suddenly rang, and Bai Xi was startled again.

“It’s Daisy.” Han Zhuo said, “You go to sleep by yourself first. I’ll be back soon.”

Bai Xi sat on the bed and watched him standing on the balcony to answer the phone.

“Xiao Bai? Killed Huang Jingyuan?” Daisy was unexpectedly shocked.

“I was also surprised, because according to the previous plan, he only needed to stay quietly in my arms and attract Huang Jingyuan to come over.” Han Zhuo sighed. “But the speed of his attack was very fast. I suspect it even exceeded his thinking. It was fast and quite lethal.”

“What a powerful and arrogant little guy.” Daisy praised briefly. “So, you are celebrating now?”

“No.” Han Zhuo replied, “He was frightened and was trembling the whole time. He is still hiding in bed.”

Daisy: “…”

“Where is Zhao Xiaojuan?” Han Zhuo asked again.

“She is completely safe,” Daisy said. “There are at least twenty handsome, tall, and powerful male nurses in your aunt’s hospital. I am sure she will soon fall in love with it.”

Han Zhuo smiled and shook his head. “Okay, then I wish you a happy holiday.”

“Be careful of Shi Tian.” Daisy reminded again. “Because you killed Huang Jingyuan.”

“It wasn’t me, it was his wife,” Han Zhuo corrected. “In this matter, we are completely passive victims. So even if he doesn’t come to me, I will take the initiative to go to him in a week.”

Bai Xi sat on the bed surrounded by the quilt, holding a water glass in both hands, swallowing the warm honey water in one sip.

After Han Zhuo finished the phone call, he went to the bathroom to wash his hands before returning to the bedroom. “What’s the matter? Your throat doesn’t feel good?”

“It’s not that my throat is uncomfortable,” Bai Xi sniffed. “It’s my whole body feels uncomfortable.” It was stiff, cold, and trembling. It would require at least ten days of recovery.

Han Zhuo smiled and watched patiently as Bai Xi drank a glass of water at a snail’s pace. “Do you want more?”

Bai Xi shook his head.

Han Zhuo lifted the quilt and laid next to him again. “Then do you want to hug me?”

“No more.” Bai Xi retracted his chin into the quilt and said in a hoarse voice, “You are not as good as Teacher Steve.”

Han Zhuo frowned, feeling really unhappy. “Who is Teacher Steve?”

“It’s my bear.” Bai Xi stretched out his hand and gestured. “It’s so big.”

Bear? Mr. Han’s eyebrows suddenly relaxed. “Okay, I can tolerate myself losing to it.”
