Chapter 22: 21. The Dragokin Slayer (2)
A scorching heat wave shot out like a Lazer towards the dense forest, and a huge shockwave came following after Ethan showed up not far from the impact, covered in dirt and charcoal; he looked up as he wiped his face.
Something big was flying in the sky, and he had to find a way to bring it; his attacks could not reach it, which frustrated him; he kept on running as the solar dragon shot beams of fire at him, if not of his shield who took all the damages, numerous dragons breath would have caused significant damages, but his shield gave up towards the end and he had to leave it behind.
The shield was left on a nearby tree, alone and broken as it would reside there until someone decides to pick it up, but who will be interested in a broken shield?
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The night finally came, and it was time; Ethan, utilizing all his speed stats, ran at absurd speed, chasing after the dragon who was taking refuge at the top of the mountains.
Breathing heavily, he saw the dragon disappearing with the clouds of the mountains, he smiled, tying the chains on his waist, he dragged the two blades and held them firmly.
Dang!
Dang!
With each stroke, he took one step towards the summit...
The solar dragon was busy recuperating, why waiting for dawn to come again, and as the morning stroke of light was coming, he felt an eerie presence not far from his cave, blocking the exit.
The shadow with two eerie blades stared at him with cold scarlet eyes as a creepy cold energy of various fallen beasts emanated from this existence. He hadn't paid attention as it flew high and proud, but his opponent wasn't something to mess with. However, it was too late to regret it.
ROAR!
The beast roared towards Ethan with beaming flames erupting from his mouth, Ethan rushed towards it before it could launch any attack.
Boom!
.
[Dungeon: The giant insect lay]
Boom!
Ethan flew towards the ground, crushing numerous giant flowers in the passage.
Bam!
Ethan stood up, his scarlet eyes glared at the Heavy-plate giant insect dragon, who had a shield twice the resistance of pure diamond.
He spat on the floor and walked towards it, "if I can't strike the outside, " thought Ethan, his voice gradually changing.
{Strike from within}
Younger Ethan looked more mature and responsible as he sat with the soul library reading through memories.
Left, Halo's blade came down, dangling hungrily as if summoned by his master; Ethan started spinning it as it drew circles l, slashing the ground and producing sounds as if coming out of the walls of fallen souls in purgatory.
Ethan walked the Heavy-plate giant insect dragon with a smirk...
*
The Dracotherum's strong horns came at Ethan who grabbed them, his gauntlet screamed in protest as if begging for its user to stop such a risky maneuver, with full strength, Ethan lifted the bull and tossed it in the air, the bull dragon lost its balance and crashed on the grass field lifting up the earth.
Boom!
Ethan hungrily gazed at the bull dragon; he was hungry; it had been a long time since he hadn't chewed on something fleshy ever since he haunted the beast dragons.
Ethan sat on the Dracotherum's head, contemplating his status; a month had passed since he frantically hunted down the prototype dragon, acquiring stats and their rune skills. His stats had breached the hundreds by now, but he knew there were people out there who had thousands of stats.
"I still have 11 months to hunt the remaining dragon in and go after the Lord dragons," He planned; he stood up and walked away from the carcass as he drew enough nutrients from it, leaving this desolate savannah land.
Despite being sometimes called dragons, they were just dragons, a level above the wyvern, they weren't fully developed and could only dream of reaching the Lord level, in this world, even monsters could level up and become stronger, Ethan and those who came back knew this, and to become absolutely strong, they had to target these lords.
At least, the Lords weren't close to the pet of the higher existence... The primordial monsters...
"Who is next?" Asked Ethan, it took a moment but a response followed.
{Abyssal Antlion, the sea desert}
Soon, Ethan was in a strange world where there were giant dunes of sand; it was a desert; the issue was, it was blue, a blue desert, "a beautiful place to die," He said as he took the first step forward.
*
Two months passed by, and Ethan had hunted numerous beasts and dragons as much as possible; soon, three months followed, and he kept on hunting as he grew in strength, speed, dexterity, and stamina.
Bang!
Sss!
The gauntlet finally gave out due to the constant strength exerted towards it, forcing Ethan to unequip them.
Bam!
He walked away leaving the dead gauntlet in the abandoned planes; with Swift and dexterous movement, he ran towards the direction of a cave.
Swoosh!
He landed on a tree branch and looked down; he saw a group of people getting ready to raid a dungeon; he was thrilled; he hadn't encountered a lot of people since he started the hunt. Usually, he avoided them, but this group looked special.
Bringing down his hoodie such as not being recognized, he swiftly came down the giant tree and blended himself with the people moving around.
"They grew in numbers... No, it's a joint unit." Ethan scrutinized the group; some looked organized, others looked rough and wild, and the rest looked to be solitary warriors, a messed-up combination.
Ethan's scarlet eyes turn towards the girl, who is already developing the features of a pretty woman, giving instructions from a top pedestal; he smirks, "She grew strong," Thought Ethan.
Katnese, who had tied her hair to that of a ponytail, gave orders when she felt two gazes at her; one was unpleasant, and the other was...
She turned towards the gaze but saw nobody; she looked around for a moment, "Is there any problem?" Asked a man with a semi-large shield and a great energy sword.
Katnese turns towards Alex, "Oh, no, Sir Alex, just..." She looked back, seeing her reaction, Alex was worried.
"Maybe you need some rest, we still have a day before the raid starts" Advice Alex out of concern, this snapped back Katnese from her unfocused state, "No, sir Alex, I am okay, you should be the one resting, we would be entering a dangerous zone and our leader needs to be well rested," Said Katnese sternly, Alex smiled bitterly.
"Haha, you would sure grow up to be a strict woman, haha," Alex laughed. Katnese did not know what was funny in what he said but ignored him and kept on giving orders. Alex cleared his throat and looked into the giant cave.
[Raid of the Dragon witch]
A dragon of the lowest level, not comparable to that of the true dragons they call the lords, it has a special breath, unlike the others, since it has intellectual capacity and the ability to cast spells, defeating it would grant his opponent a special skill called, [book of talisman] Who had numerous recorded spells within, the user would be able to cast spells after the mana function is unlocked, which would be useful when entering the next realm [Flying continents]
This information was only known to those who reincarnated or the returnees...
Alex turned and glared at the spot where Ethan was supposed to be standing; he frowned, wondering whether another one had shown up; he already took care of two who weren't of the factions of the brilliant light, "is he from seeker or pledge?" He questioned.
