Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Thor vs. Wonder Woman
---
The Setup
As the teams regrouped after the tense battle between Batman and Captain America, Nick Fury's voice rang out, cutting through the growing silence. "Next fight: Thor and Wonder Woman. Let's see what happens when gods collide."
Thor strode forward confidently, Mjolnir resting easily in his hand. His cape billowed behind him as his gaze locked onto Wonder Woman. "Diana of Themyscira," Thor said with a grin. "I have heard tales of your strength. Let us see if the legends are true."
Wonder Woman stepped forward, her posture calm but resolute. Her golden armor gleamed in the sunlight, her lasso of truth hanging at her side, and her shield resting on her arm. "Thor, son of Odin," she replied. "I look forward to testing your mettle. But I warn you—I do not hold back."
The two warriors faced each other in the clearing beneath the World Tree, their presence radiating power that even the non-powered members of their teams could feel.

Nick Fury POV
Fury stood to the side, arms crossed, his gaze flicking between the two combatants. "Alright," he said. "Same rules as before. No killing, no crippling, and try not to destroy everything. Begin!"
---
Thor was the first to move, swinging Mjolnir in a wide arc. The hammer crackled with electricity as it tore through the air, aiming straight for Diana. Wonder Woman raised her shield and braced herself, the impact ringing out like thunder and forcing her to take a step back.
"You are strong," Thor said, his voice booming, "but can you handle the wrath of Asgard?"
Wonder Woman lowered her shield, her eyes narrowing. "Let's find out."
She surged forward with incredible speed, her sword slicing through the air. Thor met her head-on, deflecting her strike with Mjolnir. Sparks flew as their weapons clashed, the sheer force of their blows sending shockwaves through the clearing.
---
Thor swung Mjolnir in a tight circle, aiming for Diana's midsection. Wonder Woman ducked under the swing and countered with a powerful kick that caught Thor in the chest, sending him stumbling back.
Thor grinned, wiping his mouth. "Impressive. It has been too long since I faced a true warrior."
He raised Mjolnir to the sky, summoning a bolt of lightning. The energy surged through the hammer as Thor hurled it at Diana. She stood her ground, raising her bracelets just in time to deflect the hammer. The impact sent her skidding back, but she recovered quickly.
"You'll have to do better than that," Wonder Woman said, her voice steady.
---
The fight became a blur of motion, each combatant pushing the other to their limits. Thor's swings with Mjolnir were precise and devastating, each one threatening to shatter the ground beneath them. Diana's movements were fluid and calculated, her shield and sword working in tandem to block and counter.
At one point, Diana wrapped Thor's arm with her lasso of truth, pulling him off balance. She used the opening to deliver a powerful shield bash to his side, sending him crashing into a nearby tree.
Thor groaned as he got to his feet, his grin undiminished. "You are truly worthy, Diana."
"And so are you," Wonder Woman replied, readying her sword again.
---
Thor summoned Mjolnir back to his hand and leapt into the air, descending with a thunderous strike that cracked the ground. Wonder Woman rolled out of the way, her reflexes unmatched. She lunged forward, using her sword to disarm Thor momentarily, sending Mjolnir flying a few feet away.
Thor, unperturbed, clenched his fists and unleashed a powerful burst of lightning from his hands. The electricity arced toward Diana, who raised her bracelets to absorb the energy. She gritted her teeth as the lightning crackled around her, then redirected it back toward Thor.
The bolt struck Thor in the chest, sending him sprawling. He laughed as he got back to his feet, his hands still crackling with electricity. "I have not had such fun in centuries!"
---
The final exchange was brutal and fast. Thor swung Mjolnir in a devastating arc, while Wonder Woman used her shield to block and her sword to counter. They moved like dancers, their strikes shaking the very ground beneath them.
At last, Diana found an opening. She used her lasso to trip Thor, pulling him to his knees. She placed the edge of her sword against his neck, her breathing steady despite the intense battle.
"Yield," she said firmly.
Thor froze for a moment before chuckling. "Very well. I yield."
Diana stepped back, lowering her sword as Thor got to his feet. He extended a hand to her, his grin wide. "You are a true warrior, Diana of Themyscira. I am honored to have faced you."
Wonder Woman shook his hand. "And you, Thor, are a formidable opponent. This was a fight I will not forget."

The Aftermath
As the two warriors returned to their teams, the tension in the air seemed to ease slightly. The respect between Thor and Wonder Woman was palpable, and it had a ripple effect on both teams.
"That was incredible," Steve Rogers said, nodding to Thor. "You held your own."
"And yet she bested me," Thor said with a laugh. "A glorious defeat!"
Tony Stark smirked. "Well, at least we know you can't win every fight, big guy."
On the Justice League side, Superman approached Wonder Woman. "You fought well."
Diana nodded. "So did he. I believe we can trust them."
Batman, standing nearby, remained silent, his sharp eyes still watching every move the Avengers made.
Nick Fury stepped forward. "Alright, we've seen two fights. Let's keep this going. Next up: Iron Man and Cyborg."

Daniel POV
From his cosmic perch, Daniel leaned back, thoroughly entertained. "Thor and Diana were evenly matched. Exactly what I hoped for."
The Ancient One stood beside him, her expression calm. "Their respect for each other is a step toward unity."
Daniel nodded. "Unity through strength. Let's see if the others can learn the same lesson."
