Chapter 12: Ancient Temple Leg Technique
Late at night, Yuyin couldn’t sleep, tossing and turning.
This wasn’t due to insomnia, but because the soundproofing in this house was terrible. The neighbors were making a ruckus, shouting and causing a commotion, making it impossible for Yuyin to sleep.
This kind of high-density rental housing was like this; she couldn’t stop others from living their lives, could she?
Yuyin simply continued to wander in the God-Eating Chess.
“Eh? The little ghost fighters have revived?”
It had only been about two hours; their revival was indeed quick.
Five little ghosts continued to beat their drums, their steps strange and their spirits high as they entered the forest. This time, it seemed they were heading straight for the place where they had been killed.
Were they seeking revenge? Yuyin felt excited.
Sure enough, near the place where they had been killed, they discovered a burly and slightly bloated green-faced one-eyed ghost monk resting against a large tree. When Yuyin looked over, ancient characters appeared above the ghost monk’s head: “Breaking the Precept, Green Once.”
“Has a name? Seems a bit powerful…”
The little ghosts immediately recognized their enemy and rushed forward, shouting and attacking.
However, the breaking-the-precept green monk stood up, pulling out a heavy tin staff. As he swung it, a gust of wind blew, sending several little ghosts tumbling to the ground.
“Truly powerful.”
Yet the little ghosts were fearless; after all, they could revive. Who was afraid of whom? They recklessly surrounded the breaking-the-precept green monk.
Although he was surrounded on all sides and seemed to be in danger of being overwhelmed, the breaking-the-precept green monk suddenly leaped up, his massive body spinning gracefully in the air, lifting his thick leg beneath his robe.
Boom!
With one foot down, a visible white shockwave sent three little ghosts flying.
“What a powerful leg!” Yuyin couldn’t help but be amazed, her chest involuntarily rising and falling deeply as she lay in bed.
The breaking-the-precept green monk wielded the heavy tin staff with sheer strength, which didn’t shake Yuyin too much, but that kick seemed to resonate with her very soul.
The breaking-the-precept green monk landed and kicked at the little ghost that had jumped up from behind him, thud! Another heavy kick sent the little ghost crashing into the tree, breaking its spine and killing it.
Yuyin was completely captivated, thinking that with her height and long legs, her leg strength was also considerable for a woman. If she could learn this leg technique… after all, Yuyin was capable of occasionally kicking out a “world wave,” so she had a foundation.
Yuyin’s consciousness flew closer, wanting to see the ghost monk’s leg technique more clearly.
At that moment, the ancient will spoke up.
“Have you discovered a new technique? Would you like to record it?”
Yes, of course.
Yuyin instinctively replied while observing the breaking-the-precept green monk fighting the little ghosts with his tin staff and leg techniques.
Yuyin noticed that in her consciousness, she could vaguely see golden leg technique movements gradually emerging, as if they were the afterimages of the breaking-the-precept green monk’s leg techniques.
However, these afterimages were of a female figure dressed in revealing monk attire with long hair, whose figure was very similar to her own.
“Leg technique recorded. In the future, if you wish to recall the Ancient Temple Leg Technique, you can enter visualization,” the ancient will said.
In the end, this rebellious monk was too powerful; the little ghosts were completely annihilated, while he appeared only lightly injured.
However, Yuyin was very satisfied; this ancient temple’s leg technique had already been recorded.
She began to visualize, the golden ** shadow could slowly perform each movement one by one, or execute several leg techniques in one go, such as jumping splits, back kicks, etc… Moreover, Yuyin felt that when this woman executed this leg technique, she was even more agile and swift than the rebellious monk, her skills were exquisite. Clearly, in terms of the same leg technique, the proficiency of this shadow was much higher than that of the rebellious monk.
“Good…” Yuyin’s chest rose and fell with excitement, and she couldn’t sleep anymore, “If you won’t let me sleep, I won’t let you sleep either.”
Feeling the visualization, Yuyin immediately got up, realizing she was only wearing a tank top and underwear. She thought for a moment and decided to put on a pair of black stockings, then she went barefoot and began practicing the leg technique in her room.
Although the room was small and had few items, Yuyin was light and agile, just enough for her to perform.
Yuyin felt that after her source energy value increased, her body was lighter than before, her movements were powerful and swift, and her stamina seemed to be more abundant.
She practiced for two hours until someone downstairs started shouting, forcing Yuyin to stop.
She was drenched in fragrant sweat, feeling very refreshed. Although she couldn’t say she had mastered the foot technique, she had memorized the moves and could execute them smoothly. However, there wasn’t much power behind them. Yuyin felt that to truly grasp the essence of this leg technique and unleash its power, she would need more time.
At this moment, it was late at night, and the couple next door had also stopped their antics. After taking a shower, Yuyin planned to sleep.
Seeing the empty window outside, she couldn’t help but blush.
“Oh no, I forgot to close the curtains.”
Not only was she exposed in just her underwear, but if someone saw her practicing leg techniques in her room… that would be even more embarrassing!
Suddenly, a wave of light passed by.
Night Spirit?
Yuyin followed the light to the window.
In the deep night, in the alley, a woman dressed elegantly was carrying a bamboo basket, radiating a ghostly glow, stepping on a cloud, gracefully floating away towards the starry sky.
This was Yuyin’s first time seeing a humanoid Night Spirit.
“So beautiful, like a fairy…” Yuyin leaned on the windowsill, feeling a sense of longing.
Tonight, it seemed there were no other spirits around; she only saw this fairy. Yuyin thought, hoping she could bring herself good luck.
……
The next morning, Yuyin was unexpectedly awakened by the couple next door’s antics. Really, was there no end to it?
Might as well go to school early for morning practice; lying here was annoying.
Yuyin opened her plastic wardrobe, her gaze falling on the white dress she wore when she first arrived in this world, in the bridal sedan. It felt like it could be used in any era; this dress was definitely unusual and needed to be well preserved.
She checked the God-Eating Chess and then prepared to go for a run at school.
Ding.
As Yuyin’s consciousness entered the God-Eating Chess, immediately, five altars jumped out, presenting themselves before her.
On these five altars stood chess pieces, clearly three of which she had bought empty yesterday.
Among these five altars, two were for the little ghosts, one was the little snake with wings she had seen before, one was a white ape, which she ignored, and the last one made Yuyin gasp in surprise.
It was a graceful woman, holding a bamboo basket, dressed in a pastel robe.
This… wasn’t this the fairy she had seen last night? There was even a female chess piece?
The altar beneath the fairy revealed some text.
“Medicine Girl, One Star, Rank Green”
“2 Soul Charm Value can attempt to charm her,” the voice whispered in Yuyin’s ear.
