Chapter 24: Third Layer True Element
The lady who was now running the exchange counter saw me standing there thinking about the options. Then when I looked up her spirits perked up a little.
"Has Junior come to a decision?" She asked, with a pleasant smile on her face.
"Yes! Senior I'd like to exchange for a spear Artifact of the saint level and a bottle of these Condensed Thunder Pills." I said.
She looked up to see the points I had available and sure enough it was barely enough to manage the exchange.
"Alright, here are your Condensed Thunder Pills. I hope Junior will be careful with those. Don't overdo it, you understand?" She said, handing over the bottle of pills.
"I understand Senior, I will naturally not do anything more than I can handle." I said, putting the pills away.
"Good now as far as your artifact goes, I have a token that will allow you to come and claim it once it is ready. I know the refiner personally a saint grade weapon artifact is a cinch for them. So I'll see if he can accidently bump it up a little for you. Are there any requests about the spear?" She said then rolled right into a question.
"I would prefer it to be aligned with lightning if possible. I would highly prefer that over a higher grade artifact. Aside from this… I'd like to leave it to the refiner to decide the rest. Though I do grow quite fast so perhaps make it so the length could grow a little over time. Though I could always just get it reforged. Let's leave it up to the refiner." I said, mulling it over. I hadn't realized she would ask me so many questions about something so simple.
"Then here is your claim token. When the Artifact is ready the token will change from this red color to a green color. Once this happens feel free to visit the Refiners Hall and look for the Deacon that manages the area." She said, handing me the red claim token.
"Thank you Senior, I have nothing else so I will follow the Deacons words and return to a cave room to cultivate." I said respectfully before leaving.
After I was out of the area the other slightly younger counter manager looked at the one I was just talking to.
"So, he was a cute Junior wasn't he. I wonder what he will look like in a few years." she said.
"Junior Sister is right. I'm almost jealous of the younger generation's girls. They all have the chance for that. I overheard him say before that he was the Dao Lords son." the woman I had talked to earlier said.
"WHAT! If that's the case it might be for the best we aren't in their generation. The competition is going to be quite fierce between those young women." the other woman said, breathing out a sigh of relief.
"Perhaps you are right. They will all try their best to outdo the other. Hopefully the drama isn't going to be too bad." The first woman said again.
Back to me I was now in the cave room that had clearly been built with… well me in mind. There was a room jade that sensed the condition of the one in the cave. If there was an emergency then the cave would activate a restrictive array to force the cultivation back under control thus sparing the life of the person. Though it was a nice touch that person would have a hell of a time recovering from such a thing, as such they would be forced to leave the cave room.
My eyes were more pleased by the idea that the roof of the room opens up to a direct path to the sky allowing for cultivators to go up a whole major realm in a relatively safe environment. Using this I could stay in this room as long as I liked but it was better not to shut myself out from everything all the time.
I took out my bottle of pills, popped the top and swallowed all 10 of them that were inside. Sadly these weren't nearly as good as I had hoped they would be. In fact they were quite pathetically weak. However, that was just because I had overhyped them in my mind. Not because they were actually pathetic. I continued the refining process for a few days just to make sure I got all of the benefits from them. After which I spent a great deal of energy to purge the impurities that had come along with the pills.
I was getting close to the third layer. In fact I was about to reach it. So I waited there for a moment. Almost as if flipping a switch the energy in my body surged. But this wasn't… the only difference. No! "THIS! This is a Knowledge Sea!" I shouted out loud. Though not a soul could hear it even if they wanted to. This was a space under a restriction after all. But this was excellent news for me. If I hadn't been invincible to those in my realm before… Well I'd certainly be now. At the very least this level of difference would persist for a few major realms, hopefully.
I pulled out my Hammer Artifact and began the refinement process. This was to make the weapon even more my own. This was going to be the fall back weapon for when fights would get real difficult. My plan was that in that event I would whip this out and proceed to end the fight in a single blow from this hammer. Even if I was one wielding it if the target was below the origin realm they wouldn't be able to resist. This was why I didn't want to bring this one out unless it was absolutely essential. Too big of a target on my back from being careless would be too annoying.
I spent a month getting used to the hammer just to confirm my suspicions about it. And came to the conclusion to never bring it out till I reach the Origin King Realm. I would need to be in that realm at the earliest. Just so I would have the strength to fend off the rouge Emperors around Void World.
Now I dealt with the hammer first to avoid any other questions as to why I had purchased a spear. If my fighting style came out to have too much in the way of the spear. There would be questions. However the Hammer Dao is easy to hide since it is possible to mistake it for basic martial arts when the wielder does not have one with them. Also… It's supposed to be my trump card for the time being. I'd rather focus on that while I have the chance.
