Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Entering the Secret Realm:
The First Realm had little spiritual Qi, so he couldn’t advance his cultivation here at all. All he could do was continuously refine his state of mind and temper his physical body.
[Host will probably enter the Second Realm a little later than the male and female leads. This is the optimal approach because the Heavenly Dao is also a type of program, and it has designated the protagonist as the most talented and fortunate.]
“Understood,” Gu Feng replied as he directly closed the conversation with the system.
Three days passed, which felt like a moment to a cultivator.
When the flying boat appeared above a stretch of red clouds, Liu Fengqing halted the vessel.
“We’ve arrived.”
Gu Feng led the disciples of Zhengyuan Sect off the boat. As he stepped into the cloud, what should have been a red cloud beneath his feet turned into a multi-colored auspicious cloud.
“Haha, it seems the Zhengyuan Sect has gained a young genius!” A hearty laugh echoed from a distance.
Shortly after, a group of people appeared on a nearby hill. They were members of other sects that had arrived early. The one who spoke was a robust man with a full beard and piercing eyes. He stared at Gu Feng, continuously praising him, “A boy treading on auspicious clouds—this boy has a heavenly destiny.”
“Young man, are you a disciple of Zhengyuan Sect?”
Gu Feng nodded.
As his feet touched the ground, the large colorful cloud gradually dispersed. Gu Feng remained calm, knowing full well who this man was.
The bearded man with a scar on his face was a powerful yet unrefined alchemist. He was none other than Feng Wangu, the third elder of the third great sect, the Eternal Sect.
“Feng Wangu, this is my disciple. You shouldn’t have any thoughts on him.” Liu Fengqing unceremoniously stepped between them.
Gu Feng also smiled faintly at Feng Wangu.
“Heh, so what if he’s your disciple? People strive to move upward, just as water flows downward. Young man, being my disciple is far better than being this cold-faced man’s disciple.”
Feng Wangu showed no restraint and instead began to boast. “I’m an alchemist, already at the third level of alchemy,” he said, holding up three fingers toward Gu Feng. “The pills that are worth a fortune outside? With me, you can eat them like candy!”
Liu Fengqing thought back to the Spirit-Gathering Pill that Gu Feng had casually refined and then looked at Feng Wangu’s boasting, struggling to suppress his laughter.
“Wow! Ye Fan also has an auspicious cloud!” A cry of amazement diverted their attention.
Ye Fan walked forward, with a faintly shimmering multi-colored cloud forming under his feet.
Although it wasn’t as dazzling as Gu Feng’s, it was still far superior to the red clouds under the other disciples’ feet.
“The Lingyun Sect also has a good prospect!” Feng Wangu remarked with a smile. But with Gu Feng’s brilliance overshadowing everyone, this disciple seemed just like any other ordinary genius.
“Since everyone is here, let’s prepare to let them enter the secret realm.” Feng Wangu said, waving his hand.
The elders from the other sects, who had brought their disciples, stepped forward. They threw their jade tokens into the air, and a massive vortex rose from the clouds.
The wind howled, and colorful rays of light flew about as golden light spread outward. Liu Fengqing shouted, “Quickly, enter! The secret realm will close a quarter of an hour after it opens. It won’t reopen for another month, so seize this opportunity!”
A long sword flew out—no one knew which sect’s disciple had entered first.
“Let’s go.” Gu Feng called to the disciples behind him, leading the way as they flew forward.
With him guiding, the disciples behind him avoided the fierce wind.
Seeing the group from Zhengyuan Sect successfully enter the secret realm, Feng Wangu stroked his beard with some envy. “Liu Daoyou, where did you find such a promising disciple?”
“Enduring the gales at the entrance to the secret realm is not something just anyone can do.”
As he finished speaking, several disciples from other sects had their flying swords blown off course by the wind.
Some even almost fell. They had to expend their spiritual Qi to resist the fierce wind. Before even entering the secret realm, they had already used up a significant portion of their spiritual power.
“Haha, I’m just as surprised!” Liu Fengqing said, looking at the entrance to the secret realm.
Gu Feng and the others were no longer visible, but the shock in his heart was something no one else knew. Entering the secret realm wasn’t that simple.
First, one’s body and soul must be one. In simple terms, those who had taken over someone else’s body couldn’t enter.
Second, one had to be under a hundred years old. Gu Feng had entered, and what did that mean? It meant he had truly brought back an unparalleled genius for the sect!
He had investigated and confirmed that Gu Feng was indeed a native of the Lingyuan Continent—a disciple more powerful than himself. If they could keep him, he would be the key to the sect’s rise.
He didn’t think the Zhengyuan Sect had anything that could entice Gu Feng. If there was something, it would be sentiment. Only feelings were something a person cannot abandon, no matter what.
From that moment on, Liu Fengqing decided that the entire sect would follow Gu Feng’s lead.
Meanwhile, inside the secret realm, the group had crashed into a mass of black clouds, and everyone lost their five senses, stumbling around in confusion. Soon after, they descended from the clouds.
Those who reacted quickly summoned their flying swords to glide through the air.
But when they landed, they found that the people around them had disappeared.
“Senior Brother!” Bai Yuxiao shouted loudly as soon as he landed, but he had fallen into a dense forest. There wasn’t a soul in sight—not even a bird.
As for Gu Feng, he landed in a swamp.
Foul-smelling bubbles rose from the muddy water, and two identical-looking women were cleaning the slime off their bodies. The only difference between them was that one had a tear mole at the corner of her eye.
“This is disgusting! How unlucky to land here.” One of the women complained.
These two were exceptionally beautiful, even by the standards of the cultivation world.
Despite having identical faces, one had a bright and lively demeanor, while the other was gentle and sweet. And just the same, they were both ‘good sisters’ of the original novel’s protagonist, Ye Fan.
