For over a month, Yang Yu persisted relentlessly. Every day, at the same time and place, he showed up at the café, teasing Ding Dian with unwavering determination. He had no intention of stopping until he got what he wanted.
As time passed, Ding Dian’s attitude toward him changed drastically.
At first, she treated him with cold indifference. Then, they started chatting and laughing. Now, they occasionally went out for meals and movies together.

“Yu Fei! Do you even remember the last time we had dinner or watched a movie together? You’re always busy, busy, busy! Are you really that swamped, or is there another woman?” Ding Dian pouted over the phone.
“Baby, our company just secured a huge contract—it’s worth half a year’s revenue! But don’t worry, I’ll be done in a few days, and then I’ll take you on a vacation. Anywhere you want, around the world if you like,” Yu Fei coaxed with a chuckle.
“You said it! I want a world tour!” she demanded happily.
“Of course! As soon as I wrap this up, I’ll take you anywhere you want. As long as my baby’s happy, I’m happy,” Yu Fei assured her.
“That’s more like it! Hmph! Just so you know, a rich second-generation heir has been chasing me like crazy lately,” she said smugly.
“I trust my precious Ding Dian completely. Besides, with me—handsome, talented, and self-made—only a fool would choose some spoiled brat who does nothing but chase women. Right, baby?” Yu Fei replied confidently.
“Hmph, fine, I’ll let you off the hook this time. But you better finish soon! That guy is getting on my nerves,” Ding Dian huffed.
“Yes, ma’am! Your wish is my command,” Yu Fei laughed.
“Alright, I won’t disturb you anymore. Take care of yourself and don’t overwork,” she reminded him.
“I’ve been working day and night with Meng Yun. We’re basically living at the office. Just give me three more days, and I promise we’ll go on that trip,” he assured her.
“You said it! I’ll be waiting! Now, go work. Bye!” Ding Dian giggled before hanging up.
Five Days Later…
“Yu Fei, you bastard! You said three days! It’s been five! I haven’t even seen your shadow, and you haven’t called once! Are you rebelling?!” Ding Dian yelled over the phone.
“Dian, listen! I was done, I swear! But then another urgent order came in, and the client needed it ASAP. We had no choice but to keep working. It’s too much money to turn down! You know our company is stuck in the middle of the industry—these two deals could take us to the next level. I’m doing this for our future!” Yu Fei explained hurriedly.
“How much longer? It’s been ten days! Do you even miss me?” she asked, her voice laced with grievance.
“This job pays a fortune and won’t take much longer—just a day or two at most. This is like winning the lottery!” Yu Fei assured her.
For the next few days, their company was flooded with clients. Orders poured in, and money rolled in effortlessly.
Meng Yun and Yu Fei were exhausted but ecstatic.
But while Yu Fei was buried in work, Ding Dian grew increasingly frustrated with his broken promises. They fought over the phone repeatedly.
Ding Dian felt neglected. Yu Fei, overwhelmed by work, had no patience left to console her. Their fights escalated to the point where Yu Fei stopped answering her calls altogether.
Meanwhile, Yang Yu stayed by Ding Dian’s side, comforting and entertaining her. Their bond grew stronger.
