Vidar: The God Of Strength

"Does he know CPR because I totally know CPR", I hear as I wake up from the worst trip from the Bifrost I've ever had. As I open my eyes the first thing I see a brunette woman with glasses standing over me with a man standing near a strange metal contraption and another woman standing over my brother. 

"Thor? Are you alright?", I ask my brother but he seems to ignore me as he gets up and yells for his hammer. 

"Heimdall? I know you can hear me, open the Bifrost!", Thor yells giving up on calling his hammer. While Thor is trying to gain his bearing, I turn to the inhabitants of this realm and question them.

"Which realm is this? Alfheim? Nornheim?", I say as calm as I can as I see the strangely dressed people grow nervous with Thor's incessant yelling. 

"New Mexico. What's wrong with your friend there", the man says cautiously. 

"Our father has banished us from our realm", I respond dejectedly. I don't want to admit that Odin has banished us but it's necessary to start with at least a little truth to gain enough information about our situation. 

"Daddy issues, huh?", the woman I first saw said with a visibly calmer expression and a smile. 

"Your names?", I inquire simultaneously ignoring what the woman has just said. 

"I'm Darcy, that's my assistant Jane, and that's Erik. Do you guys want us to take you to the hospital or something", the woman, no, Darcy said back as Erik and Jane did an awkward one-handed wave. 

"Hospital?", I inquired. Asgard has no mention of a hospital, whatever that is. 

"One, I'm not your assistant Darcy and two, a hospital can help you two get through whatever it is you're going through", the other woman said, now named Jane. 

"I thank you but-", I started but Thor interrupted in his near hysteria. 

"We have no need for your magics, strange witches. As king I demand you tell us where we are"

I hear Darcy exclaim in confusion "Witches?" before I excuse myself and pull Thor aside and try to get him to calm down. 

"Brother, we gain nothing from scaring these people and they could be dangerous. I know you can feel the weakness infesting our bodies, Odin must have sealed our powers.", I say after recognizing that my powers were almost completely gone. I could still feel my energy but it was heavily restricted. 

"Then what do you suggest?", Thor said with an eyebrow raise and a glance towards the elves? What were they? 

"We go along with what they have to say and try to gain our strength back."

"And how do we do that"

"I don't know but our first step should be to go with them"

Thor agreed and we both went back to Darcy, Jane, and Erik. 

"Before we come with all, I have one question. What species are you all?", I asked them hoping to finally put to rest where we were. 

"Um, Humans. I guess?", Darcy responded back looking as confused as I was.

'Midgard? Why would Father send us to Midgard? There must be something here that me and Thor don't know about if he banished us to a place like Midgard.' 

Thor laughed and said "Midgard? Ha! Then there's nothing to worry about brother! Nothing here could harm us!", and with that all of us entered the truck (as they call it). And although Jane seemed to be more interested in the floor, she entered with the rest and the "truck" started to move. 

"Interesting magics you human have created since I have been here last", Thor said as he gestured around the truck as I nodded my head in agreement. 

"Yeah, sure, anyway, what you two's name?", The man named Erik asked, seemingly only now finding his voice.

Thor responded first saying, "Thor, crown prince of Asgard, son of Odin Allfather, and the God of Thunder" and I responded soon after introducing myself as "Vidar, the God of Strength". 

The passengers of the truck stayed silent for a beat before Erik disbelievingly said "...Right?", and continued to drive to this aforementioned "hospital". 

When we were there I saw what could only be described as a large mass of white gunk with bright white, red, and blue light all around. We entered and spoke to a woman with the word "Jessica" on her shirt and the humans started to talk to her. 

"Name?", the lady asked and Thor responded with a "Thor Odinson" that was laced with pride after the humans told her we were both to be checked into the hospital. 

The lady pressed some buttons on a device that made strange nice sounds before turning to me and asking my name as well in which I responded with "Vidar Odinson".

"Wait, you guys are brothers? Your father must have some real good genetics."

"What? I'm not wrong.", Darcy with a grin on her face towards Jane after she shot Darcy a look. 

"We are Gods", said Thor with pride. 

"Right. Ma'am, the blonde one was hit by a car, could he get a check-up or anything.", Erik said exasperatedly. 

Me and Thor came out of a room after a man in a blue outfit shined a light in our eyes, asked us questions, tried to jam a pointed needle into our arms (which we both did not like) and then promptly sent us on our way to look at another person. 

"Seems like there's nothing wrong with you both", Jane said to us as we entered the room they were waiting in. 

"Except there is something very wrong. Like, brain wise", Darcy said with lifted eyebrows and a quick voice. 

"Darcy..", Jane said with a tone that reminded me of my mother and in response Darcy quickly raised her hands and shrugged. 

"Do you have any family that we can call or bring you to?", Erik asked. 

"Is there any way for you to get us to Asgard?", I asked the group, who shook their head.

"Then no."

"The Mighty Thor will explore this planet himself then. You humans love me after all.", Thor said. 

After a moment, Darcy brought up an idea, "Maybe they can stay with us, just until they sober up and maybe they can even help with your research". 

"A fantastic idea", and it was, the humans would know the terrain better than us both. While I was sharing my support of the idea, Erik felt the opposite, calling us both dangerous at a volume that he assumed we could not hear. Jane seemed to be the leader of their party because as she agreed and put her foot down, Erik also reluctantly agreed to bring us with. 

Thor seemed to stay quiet, simply going with the motions and Darcy was strangely happy to see her friends' agreement with her plan. As we were leaving the foul smelling hospital, Darcy came up to me. 

"So... does the God of Strength have a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend? I don't judge.", Darcy asked her question with a grin that made me smile. 

"No, this God of Strength does not have a partner. Not now, at least.", I said with an exaggerated flourish. I had had... entanglements before but never with a person I had actually cared about beyond their presence in my bed and neither did they care for me more than my presence in their bed but that was just the way our culture worked in Asgard. 

Darcy simply smiled back without saying anything on our way to Janes' lab. 

While the humans were looking at colorful pictures me and my brother talked about our plans. 

"It's simple brother. I simply need to get Mjolnir back and everything'll work out from there.", Thor said with an infuriating amount of confidence. 

"And where is the hammer?", I asked back with a heat that surprised even myself. 

"That I do not know. But have no worries brother, the humans will come across the hammer and be so dazzled by it that it will make waves across the entirety of Midgard, just as it once did." 

"And if you can't pick it up? You heard what father said about being worthy right? And with the way he sent us out of Asgard I don't think we're very worthy. We disappointed father. We really messed up this time."

Thor grabs my shoulders and says, "Father will realize that we were simply doing what was best for Asgard and will welcome us back into Asgard with open arms and a massive feast"

I doubted it but I acquiesced to his incessant optimism and nodded my head while Darcy, Jean, and Erik walked up to us hurriedly. 

"Explain!", Jane said with passion while shoving a paper with bright colors on it in front of our faces. 

"Explain what?", I said with a single raised eyebrow.

"The lensing around these edges are characteristic of an Einstein-Rosen bridge and the stars don't match the star alignment seen this time of year. And unless Ursa Minor decided to take a day off, these are someone else's constellation. That someone being you. So, explain. Where did you come from?", Jane said quickly. 

"Yeah, what she said", Darcy said with a finger point and nod of her head that I found very amusing. 

Thor decided to take point in our explanation. 

"We are Asgardians, protectors of the Nine Realms."

"But that's impossible", Erik said while Jane stayed silent in thought. 

"Easy fix, show us some lightning or a feat of strength", Darcy said quickly. She was more excited than the time Thor found out Mjolnir could fly. 

"I would, except our powers have been sealed by the Allfather himself." Thor said while looking embarrassed and rubbing the back of his head. 

"I can. Just give something impressively heavy to pick up.", I quickly said at Darcy's disbelieving face. I wanted her to believe me. I wanted to impress her for some weird reason. Probably just to create an adoring audience, seems Loki was right. Thor is rubbing off on me more than I want to admit. 

The group of humans look around for a heavy object and Darcy points at the white truck that we drove here in. 

"Ah ha! That's perfect. Lift up that truck and color me a true believer."

"There's no way he'll be able to lift that! That truck is around 10,000 pounds!"

I silently make my way over to the truck, place my hands on the bottom, and begin to lift. Surprisingly, I struggle.

'Come on, come on, come on!', unbeknownst to the onlookers, a faint red glow begins to cover my body. The truck begins to rise until I'm standing at full height with the truck at my fingertips. I turn and look at the group. Thor is standing with a proud smile while the rest are flabbergasted, with their eyes bulging and their jaws lowered. 

"Holy shit!", Darcy yells with a large smile. 

I focus on her and I smile.
