Chapter 25: Red Queen Command

I turned to face Alice and Medic, my expression steeling as I adopted a stance of casual arrogance. My voice sliced through the air, sharp and commanding. 'I can make the impossible possible. I am Supreme.' I let the words roll off my tongue, emulating the grandiose declarations of fellow travelers in the novel, always eager to leave an impression.

Kaplan remained in a state of shock, so I took decisive action and fired a warning shot to jolt him back to reality. His eyes widened, and he abruptly came to his senses. 'I'll do it,' he declared a newfound resolve in his voice.

Kaplan swiftly turned to his computer and began meticulously altering Red Queen's program. The screen flickered as Red Queen's digital avatar materialized, her voice echoing through the room. ''You are a mutant with superpowers,'' she stated, her tone analytical. '' Are you also a biological weapon of the Umbrella Corporation? "

I turned to face Red Queen, my gaze unwavering. 'I am not some expendable biological weapon of the Umbrella Corporation,' I declared, my voice firm. 'You will soon discover who I am when I reprogram you to follow my commands.'

Alice and Medic stood nearby, their faces etched with shock and fear. I approached them, softening my voice and looking each of them in the eye. ''Alice, Medic,'' I said gently, ''no matter who I am or what my purpose is, I promise you this: I have no intention of hurting either of you. You don't have to be afraid of me.''

I accessed the system storage and retrieved a bottle of water, offering it to Alice and Medic as a small token of reassurance.

Alice and Medic stared in disbelief as the bottle of water materialized from thin air. Tentatively, they reached out, their hands wrapping around the bottle to confirm its reality. They looked back at me, their eyes wide with a mix of awe and apprehension, as if they were seeing a monster for the first time.

Meanwhile, Kaplan was engrossed in reprogramming Red Queen. After a few moments, he announced, ''It's done.'' He turned to me and said, ''You can enter your commands for Red Queen now.''

I stepped forward and issued my directives:

First command - 'Red Queen, you will always follow my orders.'

Second Command - 'You will always prioritize my interests.'

Third Command - 'In case of any conflict between the first two commands, you will always follow the first one.'

Each command was delivered with precision and authority, ensuring that the Red Queen understood her new protocols.

After assimilating my commands, Red Queen responded, 'Yes, boss.' I couldn't shake off the lingering doubt—had Kaplan embedded some backdoor access for himself within Red Queen's programming?

I couldn't afford to take that risk, not when I needed Red Queen fully operational in the real world. I glanced at Kaplan, briefly entertaining the thought of eliminating him on the spot. But with Alice and Medic present, I had to be patient. I decided to bide my time and wait for the opportune moment to strike.

Turning to Alice, Medic, and Kaplan, I said, ''Alright, let's move out. We've got what we came for.''

As we stepped back into the hallway, we found Spence waiting for us on the other side. Alice didn't utter a word; she simply strode up to him and began to pummel him with a flurry of blows. Kaplan, seemingly eager to release his own frustrations, joined in, delivering a series of harsh strikes.

Watching Spence take a beating at Alice's hands brought me a sense of satisfaction. But suddenly, Spence managed to draw a pistol from behind his back—one of the weapons from the fallen soldiers in the hallway. He leveled it at us, a cold smile playing on his lips.

''So, you found out everything,'' he said, his voice dripping with a mix of resentment and desperation. He turned his gaze to Alice, his eyes gleaming with a twisted hope. ''We could still get out of here, Alice. There's a lot of money waiting for us out there.''

It dawned on me that Spence had somehow regained all his memories. Perhaps the sudden shift in events—a butterfly effect of sorts—had triggered his recall. I didn't care if he remembered it now or later.

Alice glared at Spence, her voice trembling with rage. "You bastard! You're still trying to weasel your way out of this. You killed all of them—for money!"

Spence met her gaze, his expression a mix of defiance and desperation. "They offered me a fortune for the T-virus," he spat. "I would have been rich by now if Red Queen hadn't released the nerve gas "

As Spence finished speaking, he leveled his gun at Alice and backed away from the group. His eyes narrowed as he declared, "Now, all of you have to die here." Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger, firing a shot directly at Alice.

Instinctively, I used my telekinesis to freeze the bullet in mid-air, mere inches from Alice's face. She stood there, stunned, her eyes wide with disbelief that the bullet hadn't struck her.

I walked over to Alice, maintaining my focus on the suspended bullet. With a flick of my wrist, I redirected the bullet, sending it straight through Spence's leg. He cried out in pain and crumpled to the ground, his weapon clattering to the floor.

Using my telekinesis again, I lifted the gun and placed it firmly in Alice's hand. "Finish him," I said, my voice steady and resolute. The decision was hers to make, and I ensured she had the means to carry it out.

Alice stared at the gun in her hand, her expression resolute. She nodded at me, acknowledging the unspoken understanding between us. With determined steps, she approached Spence, who lay writhing on the ground.

Seeing Alice advance, Spence's eyes widened in panic. "No, Alice, you can't do this," he pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation.

Alice didn't falter. She raised the gun and, without a word, emptied the clip into Spence, ending his life with a series of sharp, echoing shots.

I walked up to Alice, wrapping her in a comforting embrace. "Are you okay?" I asked softly, my voice filled with concern. I gently brushed her hair back from her face, tucking the stray strands behind her ears. My gaze was tender and reassuring, offering silent support in the aftermath of the ordeal.

Alice looked at me and said " I am okay " I let go of her and stood aside.

I paused to consider the situation, then froze time, seizing the opportunity to act swiftly. I rushed back to the room housing Red Queen's motherboard, extracting it with precision. Additionally, I discovered an array of servers and data belonging to Red Queen, which I promptly transferred to the system storage.

Returning to Alice and the others, I resumed the flow of time. Almost immediately, the lights flickered and died, and the system initiated a reboot. When the lights came back on, one thing was certain: Red Queen was no more, her motherboard now securely in my possession.
