Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Part 1 – Hello, I Am the Old Man
Amidst the wreckage engulfed by raging flames and countless corpses with horrifying death scenes, the long memories flickered chaotically in his mind.
In a sea of blood that seemed boundless, a black-haired youth was sitting on a White Bone Throne made from colossal bones, his gaze bewildered.
“Ryomen Sukuna, the king of curses and a malevolent villain from a thousand years ago… Transferring into such a being, one can’t tell if this should be regarded as lucky or unlucky.”
After digesting Lín Qí a bit about two-sided Sukuna’s memories, understanding the present state of affairs, Lín Qí propped his chin with his hand and sighed with mixed feelings.
Was he lucky? It appeared that he inadvertently replaced Sukuna, which could be seen as ridding humanity of a great calamity; but was it unfortunate? Now, he might have transformed into a super villain everyone would hate.
“However, Sukuna seems strong, so there shouldn’t be much of an issue.” Lín Qí rearranged himself comfortably on the White Bone Throne and stated with indifference.
He had always been laid-back, even about his own death and the incident of crossing over. Besides being influenced by Sukuna’s memories, it was mostly due to his personality.
Since he’s already here, right?
Thus, without any sorrow for Sukuna who was replaced, Lín Qí—the internet celebrity from the Middle Kingdom who has done a great job driving dump trucks—crossed over to another world!
As expected for a cross-over, he inevitably carried a certain golden trump card.
“System, I know you’re here.”
“ror! Failed to identify host!”
“Huh?”
Where is my system? Which platform was it manufactured on? Such a waste?
After only a second of surprise, Lín Qí dismissed the matter. Regardless, now that he was in this world, even without the cheat code, it was meaningless because he was the actual cheat.
“If what I feel is correct, this place should be my realm of birth. Let’s go check it out.”
Lín Qí thought, and with a single thought, his presence vanished from the realm and his consciousness entered an unfamiliar space.
Opening eyes.
The lighting was dim, curtains had been drawn to block the moonlight, yet Lín Qí could see everything clearly around him.
It apparently was a girl’s room, and he noticed he was lying on a bed, small panda plushies scattered around.
Standing up…
“Hey, why can’t I move?” Lín Qí puzzled, attempted to scratch his head, but his arm did not cooperate as wished.
Oddly, although unable to control his body, his mouth could freely move within it.
So without any other actions possible, Lín Qí used his mouth to slide around, and then returned to the realm to fall into a daze.
…
As morning’s first light touched skyscrapers on the horizon, the regular biological clock woke Yuki no Shizuka who went directly to the bathroom in her white halter top nightgown to wash up after getting up from bed.
In the mirror, a lovely, petite girl with smooth black hair reaching her waist could be seen. Due to just waking up, her usually neat hair looked tousled. Her cerulean blue eyes were deep and mysterious.
Then she saw in the mirror, above the cute, perfect face, two thin lines emerging under her eyes creating a gap.
“A rather cute little girl, must really make your mouth water… wait, wrong, I’m not like Sukuna, I’m not evil,” the lines opened to reveal two orbs, followed by a mouth forming.
“Why was I unable to move? Oh, turns out I don’t own this body.”
“Huh?”
Smack—a toothbrush slipped from Yuki no Shizuka’s hand and dropped on the sink with a clatter.
“It definitely got sealed… But to be able to contain someone of Sukuna’s level inside you and remain calm, girl, who are you exactly?”
The mouth went on blabbing incomprehensible words making the girl feel agitated… wait, that wasn’t the issue.
“Hmm? Why don’t you say anything?” noticing the lack of response, Lín Qí stared at her through the mirror.
Yuki no Shizuka raised her trembling hands slowly, touching the mouth now planted on her cheek.
She felt a chilling, slick sensation, as the mouth moved to the other side of her face. “Calm down, please speak normally.”
“No!!!”
Finally unable to contain herself, Yuki no Shizuka screamed in fear. Luckily the high-end apartment had good soundproofing; otherwise, complaints would surely pour in.
Sharing sensations with the girl, Lín Qí watched silently through the mirror.
An awkward silence filled the air.
A moment later.
“Who, what are you?” the girl, trying to keep her composure, asked coldly, her voice still shaky and hands gripping the edge of the sink tightly.
“Huh? Weren’t you the one who sealed me inside you?” As Lín Qí questioned doubtfully, the voice echoed from the extra mouth added to Yuki no Shizuka’s cheek. The manner with which the mouth moved and spoke was very unnerving.
“I don’t understand whatever it is that you’re saying.”
Lín Qí sensed genuine confusion and undeniable terror, she wasn’t lying.
But that just made more questions arise.
“Unaware? Could it be someone else?” Pausing to think, Lin Qi shrugged off the worry. “Forget about it. Knowing who did this wouldn’t help anyway.”
“Excuse me, can you try to explain properly?” Facing the mouth again talking to itself without any hostile intentions, Shizuka gathered the courage left to ask, “I find it troublesome when something appears on my face uninvited.”
“Alright then, I am called Lín Qí, you may also call me two-sided Sukuna. I’m over a thousand years old, don’t live in a defined place, single. My vocation is a curse master. At all hours killing people and burning villages, nothing nice to my name. Don’t smoke, drink occasionally, eat as needed, sleep enough, and before bedtime eat a young woman, casually destroy a few villages as morning exercise.”
Each sentence Lín Qí said made the girl’s face pale a fraction more, her body start to tremble.
“To sum up, I had no choice before, but now I wish to be a good person.” His tone sincere, but his host didn’t seem to believe him.
“So, why are you appearing in me?” Shizuka’s trembling voice inquired.
“Don’t know, upon waking, I found myself sealed within you.” Lín Qí tried to do a dismissing gesture with his hands, but failed—he could only blink to express helplessness. “Don’t worry, I can’t do much to you right now.”
Silent, Lín Qí choked back tears while Shizuka, wise-minded as she was, froze, her thoughts collapsing into nothingness.
