Chapter 13
Chapter 11 – Komachi, My Komachi
The lingering phantom pain from the shoulder of his right arm served as a grim reminder that he didn’t just dream of having his right hand severed by Lin Qi; it was an irrefutable reality.
To regenerate severed limbs… Does this mean such things really exist…
The right hand… grew back!?
Yukinoshita Yukino gasped in disbelief.
“Reversal Technique,” Lin Qi seemed to read Hachiman’s thoughts and explained to Yukino, “Curse Energy is negative energy that can strengthen the body but cannot regenerate it. Thus, combining negative energies can result in the creation of positive energy to heal oneself.”
“As long as the brain isn’t destroyed or the head isn’t cut off, they can be saved,” Lin Qi grinned, “Even if you were split in half, you wouldn’t die.”
“Really or fake…” Hachiman’s eyes widened slightly, the mere fact of limb regeneration shocked him deeply; could even being cut in half be healed? The Jujutsu Sorcerer path must be truly terrifying.
Seemingly sensing his feelings, Lin Qi shrugged, “It might sound simple, but it’s not easy to accomplish. Only a few Sorcerers can pull it off. But for the Curse Spirits, it’s quite easy.”
“Enough with all that, Yukinoshita is causing trouble,” after saying that, Lin Qi vanished, cutting off Yukino’s voice in the process.
Only then did Hachiman realize the girl in front of him had no black patterns indicative of Lin Qi’s presence on her face; she merely opened her eyes wide.
Once Lin Qi submerged, the teasing expression on Yukino’s face disappeared, replaced by a heavily frowned brow. She looked displeased.
What does that guy think!? To do something so reckless in school, what if others witnessed it? And his insane teaching method, pushing someone to the brink of death to stimulate potential—it’s inhumane!
And after all that, instead of helping, he ran away, leaving Hachiman to clean up the mess, and received no reply despite his internal pleadings.
Silence and emptiness, the ordeal was truly revolting.
The worst part was Lin Qi, even without permission, could take control of her body anytime, claiming he could always return it to her. A lie, designed to lower her guard!
With no power to prevent him, she couldn’t predict what he would do next to her body.
Yukinoshita massaged her temple with a pained expression, then turned to Hachiman apologetically, “I apologize; I never knew my strength increased, nor anticipated Lin Qi doing such a thing to you…”
“Uh, it’s fine, after all, we’re alive and the hand grew back, exactly as it was.” Taken aback by her apology, Hachiman eventually replied, “And this wasn’t your fault, you have nothing to apologize for.”
To imagine Lin Qi apologizing was unthinkable for him.
“But, even though the wound has healed, the pain at the moment of injury was real, wasn’t it?” Yukinoshita recalled his agonized cry vividly, unable to suppress a gentle sigh.
“But perhaps due to it, somehow, I seem to already have grasped how to use Curse Energy,” Hachiman lifted his right fist, focusing the energy on the knuckles as instructed earlier.
Nothing happened.
“Uh? Earlier it worked just like this,” Hachiman blushed, wishing he hadn’t spoken so confidently now.
“It appears something went astray. Lin Qi hasn’t offered any solutions,” Yukinoshita pointed out, fully aware that Hachiman had succeeded before, nearly hit by his energy-filled punch, “Nonetheless, let’s get back to the club.”
But upon returning, Yukinoshita saw her anger was misplaced.
A disarrayed activity classroom greeted them—shattered windows scattered glass fragments; blood stains on the floor; even the walls streaked red.
A lone severed limb lay in the shadows, resembling horror movie set props.
A strong smell of blood permeated the room, making both of them barely able to breathe as they stepped inside the curtained room.
Hachiman’s eyes filled with emotion as he stared blankly at his missing hand, unsure of what expression to put on, “How… should this be handled?”
Yukinoshita was equally surprised, her knowledge in various fields extensive, yet dealing with dismemberment was well beyond her expertise.
While Lin Qi observed, he marveled at his benevolence while forcefully commandeering control over Yukinoshita’s body, igniting a fire to dispose of Hachiman’s limb.
After a snap of her fingers uncontrollably, Yukinoshita regained composure, indignant, “Once again, you took control of my body without asking!”
“Still angry at me after my help? Yukinoshita, you truly have no conscience, oh what a bad person,” Lin Qi’s voice teased from across her face, pretending to be hurt.
“This is all your doing!” Every word Lin Qi spoke sent shivers down Yukinoshita’s spine.
Ignoring her, Lin Qi shifted focus to Hachiman, “Think more of the nature of Curse Energy to understand why it failed previously. Mastering it is no simple task, but better than Yukinoshita, who still hasn’t succeeded.”
Then he dove back, leaving Yukinoshita fuming.
His expert use of sarcasm successfully heightened the girl’s blood pressure. When it came to breaking down Yukinoshita, Lin Qi was unparalleled.
Inaction and boredom led Lin Qi to play with his Host for fun.
“Honestly…” He raised his hands in a mock salute, signaling that things were out of his control.
“I don’t mind,” Yukinoshita sighed, acknowledging his truthfulness, “But, truly?”
Despite appearing indifferent, Hachiman suspected differently.
“Regardless, let’s clean up first. As for the broken window, we’ll use a curtain. I will order the same frame; the exact one will be replaced later this week.”
“Alright.”
Exerting great effort, they cleaned everything up before the security guards chased them away from the school grounds.
“I’m leaving then,” Hachiman bade farewell to Yukinoshita before riding his bike home, experiencing a nostalgic feeling as he arrived.
Upon entering his house, slipping off his shoes, and hearing the bustling sounds of Komachi, he turned around to see his sister with an apron on, preparing dinner, moved to tears.
Ah, it’s my loving sister Komachi!
“Welcome home, why so late?” Komachi responded, her expression conveying disdain but to Hachiman appeared beautiful.
“What happened?” she asked.
“Nothing important… I’m home.”
After a series of events such as being frightened by a Curse Spirit, scaring by Lin Qi, losing his arm, and being thrown out by Yukinoshita, Hachiman managed to crack a smile, relieved, as he faced his sister.
