Chapter 12
Chapter 12
“Huh?”
Before his brain could catch up, his entire right arm was severed at the root, falling to the ground like a piece of rotten flesh, leaving behind an even cut surface that continued to ooze blood.
What just happened?
Hachiman Hikigaya stared down blankly at the arm lying on the floor. He hadn’t yet reacted to what had happened when the delayed, severe pain surged over him like a tide.
“Ah? Ah… Ahhhhh!!”
Tears escaped uncontrollably from his eyes. The pain from last year when he was hit by a black luxury car and lost a leg had already exceeded the limits of a typical high school boy’s endurance. His face twisted in agony, his remaining left hand wanting to press the wound but afraid to touch it, only able to clutch at his collar tightly, veins bulging on his hand and forehead.
“What did you do!?” Snow之下雪乃’s black patterns vanished from her face like melting ice. This was the first time she forcefully regained control of her body. She walked hurriedly forward, having never faced such a bloody scene before; her intelligent brain was now empty.
“Right, hemostasis… we need to stop the bleeding!”
Snow之下雪乃’s trembling hands shook, looking around desperately for something in the activity classroom to use as a temporary bandage. However, although her mind wanted to stop Hachiman’s bleeding, her body remained frozen.
Hachiman Hikigaya was still wailing, his lifeless eyes narrowing as blood vessels filled his eyeballs. He collapsed against the wall, trying hard to suppress the urge to roll around on the ground.
“Clinic! Hachiman, wait for me here! Hang on!” Snow之下雪乃 bit her lip fiercely, tears welling in her eyes.
I shouldn’t have listened to that guy! I’m so stupid! I knew Lin Qi was a villain who did evil deeds a thousand years ago, yet I still passed control of my body to him.
When she had just started high school, her own car had pushed Hachiman Hikigaya into the hospital. And today, after two years, it was still because of her releasing Lin Qi that caused Hachiman to lose his arm.
It’s all my fault!
Regret, anger, fear, despair – strong negative emotions arose within the hearts of both members of the Service Club, transforming into curse energy flowing through their bodies.
“Not allowed.”
Suddenly, a mouth opened on the smooth forehead of the girl, Lin Qi speaking with a mix of amusement and a strict, unyielding demeanor, “You should have felt it already, the curse energy born from intense negative emotions, controlled by your consciousness.”
“Why are you saying this now!?” Snow之下雪乃 didn’t even bother to reprimand him, turning and walking away.
But she noticed her legs weren’t under her control; they were as if nailed down, still standing in place.
Can’t move? What’s happened? Has Lin Qi taken control of my body?
Ignoring the frantic struggle for control from Snow之下雪乃, Lin Qi stared intently at Hachiman Hikigaya, gritting his teeth and breathing heavily, “What’s wrong? Haven’t you said you’d go through fire and water without hesitation?”
“Just one arm lost. When fighting cursed spirits, don’t you have to risk your life?” The girl’s forehead cracked open, revealing a wicked smile, “If you can’t control curse energy, then you deserve to die here.”
As if death itself whispered to his ear, Hachiman Hikigaya felt a chill, even the pain from his severed arm felt numbed.
How terrifying. If I can’t do it, then this person would really let me bleed out to death.
The reason he felt cold wasn’t just because of Lin Qi’s threatening words, but also because of continuous blood loss robbing him of body heat, leaving a pool of crimson blood beneath him and a strong stench of blood filling the small activity classroom.
Strong will to survive gradually made Hachiman Hikigaya calm down. Adrenaline rapidly secreted, soaking his back in cold sweat, simultaneously alleviating the pain from his severed arm. He sensed the curse energy that Lin Qi spoke of, coursing through his body.
As an ordinary person who has never encountered curses, Hachiman Hikigaya didn’t know how to control this curse energy. Instead, relying on instinct, he naturally grasped it in his hand like picking up a bottle of water.
In the next moment, the substance-like curse energy rose up in the form of flames on his remaining left fist, darker in color than the flame itself, similar to the puddle of blood beneath him.
“Ha, you can do it if you try!” Lin Qi laughed loudly, “Now, attack me with this curse energy!”
Attack? How? Isn’t the pacing too fast?
While inwardly complaining about Lin Qi’s Spartan teaching style, Hachiman leaned on the wall and stood up.
In short, the only attack I can make now is punching.
After pondering for a moment, he clenched his teeth, staggering towards Snow之下雪乃 and swinging his fist, which was imbued with the curse energy.
“Hold on, what…!?” Snow之下雪乃 found she could control her body again, but Hachiman Hikigaya’s sinister figure was already coming at her.
Stepping back twice and realizing there was no way to avoid him, she subconsciously used the family martial arts to block Hachiman’s punch, throwing him away.
However, in that instant she threw Hachiman Hikigaya away, Snow之下雪乃 realized something was amiss.
My strength is too great!
The sound of shattering glass followed, a figure flying directly out of the window of the special building from the fourth floor and crashing down.
Huh?
After being blocked by Snow之下雪乃, Hachiman Hikigaya hadn’t yet processed it when everything began spinning. By the time he regained his senses, he found himself in mid-air.
Eh? Am I dying? Dying not from blood loss but from falling?
He gazed at the sky painted red by the sunset, his mind blank, feeling no reality of impending death.
The next second, he saw another figure leap out of the windows of the Service Club and rapidly approaching.
Is this real? This is the fourth floor of the special building?
Lin Qi controlling Snow之下雪乃’s body grabbed Hachiman Hikigaya, who was still in a daze, pulling him down to the ground steadily.
Subconsciously extending both hands to hold the ground, the sense of security grounded him. It seemed as if his deadfish eyes released a heavy breath of relief. Falling twelve meters from the fourth floor was still too thrilling for a high school student.
Wait, hold on…
“My right arm is still here?”
Hachiman Hikigaya stared blankly at his intact right arm, instinctively clenching and unclenching it, as if the severed arm was just a nightmare.
…
After school, and becoming a jujutsu sorcerer.
