Chapter 3: Chapter 3: His Name is Optimus Prime
Under the stunned eyes of the crowd, the massive machine began to take form. The sharp, metallic clang of shifting parts drowned out all other sounds, leaving only the sight of the colossal metal-being rising.
Onlookers gawked, struggling to comprehend the impossible transformation occurring before them.
From the wreckage of a pickup truck, a towering figure of gleaming steel emerged, fully formed and standing tall. It wasn't just a machine; it was alive.
"His name is Optimus Prime," Downey's voice crackled through the radio of the truck, his tone filled with both rage and grief. "I gave him that name. Unlike you, Abomination, Optimus Prime has a soul. He is alive through me."
Inside the cab of the truck, Downey sat, bruised and battered, clutching the radio mic in his hands.
His mysterious power, which he called The Spark, coursed through him, giving life to the machine now standing in front of the monstrous Abomination.
Next to him sat the stranger who had saved him, barely conscious and bleeding, but refusing to leave Downey's side.
Downey's mind was focused entirely on Optimus Prime, his newfound ability to control machines pulsing through him like fire.
He had used The Spark to transform the wrecked truck into a towering warrior, and now Optimus Prime stood between him and the creature that had destroyed everything he loved.
Abomination turned from his fight with Hulk, eyeing the giant robot with amusement. "What are you supposed to be?" he sneered, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Some kind of experimental toy?"
The monster's confidence was absolute. After all, he had easily overpowered Hulk, and now this giant metal figure stood before him like a mere distraction.
Downey's voice came through the radio again, cold and resolute. "I am Optimus Prime, the destroyer of beasts like you. You will pay for the lives you've taken."
Abomination chuckled, dismissive of the challenge. "You think this metal toy will stop me? I am invincible! Pain, fear, suffering—they mean nothing to me. Bow down, and I might let you live!"
Downey ignored the taunts. He glanced at the injured man next to him, the one who had carried him from the battlefield. "Stay down," he muttered quietly. "This ends here."
Optimus Prime began to move, each step heavy and deliberate. Its massive frame cast long shadows across the parking lot, the ground cracking beneath its weight.
The machine raised its right arm, gears and metal plates shifting to form a long, sharp blade. Downey, controlling every motion from the truck, was filled with an icy determination. Abomination had to be stopped.
Hulk, still recovering from the tranquilizers that had dampened his strength, stood back, watching.
His rage simmered just below the surface, but he seemed to sense something in the metal giant. He wasn't the only threat to Abomination anymore.
"Come on, then!" Abomination bellowed, spreading his arms wide. "Let's see what you've got!"
Optimus Prime charged forward with a roar that sounded almost mechanical, its blade gleaming in the dim light.
Abomination braced himself, but the sheer speed and force of the attack took him by surprise.
The blade pierced through Abomination's chest, cutting through his tough hide. Blood sprayed into the air, and Abomination howled in pain and fury.
"You... you dare?" Abomination growled, clutching the blade embedded in his chest. His grotesque muscles bulged as he grabbed the arm of Optimus Prime and, with a mighty heave, ripped the robot's right arm clean off, sending sparks flying.
Inside the truck, Downey winced as he felt the feedback of the damage through his connection with The Spark, but he held firm.
Optimus Prime staggered, but it wasn't defeated. Even with one arm lost, the giant machine continued to fight, its eyes glowing with a fierce light.
Abomination roared, lunging again. He swung at Optimus Prime with all his strength, determined to tear the machine apart piece by piece.
But this time, Prime dodged, stepping aside with surprising agility. As Abomination stumbled forward, Prime drove its remaining arm into the beast's back, sending a shockwave of energy through the monster's body.
"I will destroy you!" Downey's voice crackled through the radio, echoing around the battlefield.
"You killed my family, destroyed my home, and left me with nothing. Now, you will pay with your life."
Abomination snarled in defiance, but he was weakening. The fight had taken its toll, and the damage inflicted by Optimus Prime had begun to slow him down. His movements became sluggish, his attacks less coordinated.
But the monster wasn't finished. In a last, desperate move, Abomination turned his attention to the truck.
He realized that Downey was controlling the machine from inside. With a roar, he lunged toward the vehicle, intending to crush Downey and end the fight once and for all.
But before he could reach the truck, Hulk charged forward with a thunderous roar, slamming into Abomination with the full force of his rage.
The impact sent shockwaves through the ground as the two titans collided, their fists flying in a flurry of devastating blows.
"Hulk..." Downey's voice came through the radio again, quieter this time but filled with icy resolve. "We finish this together."
As Hulk and Abomination clashed, Optimus Prime stood tall, damaged but still ready to fight.
With a final surge of energy, Downey willed the giant robot to rejoin the fray, its remaining arm raised in defiance.
Together, Hulk and Prime would bring down the monster that had torn so many lives apart.
Abomination, now trapped between the unstoppable force of Hulk's fury and the relentless determination of Optimus Prime, let out one final scream of defiance.
But it was too late. The combined power of Hulk and Prime was more than even he could withstand.
"I am Optimus Prime," he whispered through the radio, his voice barely audible. "And I will never bow to monsters."
