Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Simulated Universe + Minecraft

While Fu Zhu was mining cobblestone, he didn't pause his plan to fish for an Enchanted Book with Mending.

"Xing, my dear sister, could you do me a favor?"

"What is it?" Xing guarded herself warily. "You wouldn't even admit I was your sister when introducing me earlier, and now suddenly it's 'dear sister'? You must be up to something!"

"How could that be!" Fu Zhu's smile was absolutely radiant. He walked over, quite forcefully pried Xing's hand open, and stuffed the Fishing Rod into it.

"Help your bro out. Fish a book out of the water for me. If you catch the specific one I need, I can grant you one small request that's within my power. How about it?"

"Really?" Xing looked at the Fishing Rod in her hand, half-believing, half-doubting.

Fu Zhu nodded. "Mhm. Even if you ask me to build a statue of you made of pure gold, it wouldn't be a problem."

He was quite confident in his building abilities; a statue would just require some time.

Upon hearing this, Xing's eyes instantly lit up. Nobody could refuse a statue made of pure gold, especially when the statue was of themselves!

"My dear brother, leave it to me! Whatever book you need, I'll fish it right up!"

Nearby, March 7th was also visibly eager to try, constantly raising her hand and asking, "Fu Zhu, can I join in too?"

"Sure," Fu Zhu didn't refuse. Having an extra person fishing couldn't hurt. He casually plucked three strands of hair from Xing's head, instantly crafted another Fishing Rod on the spot, and handed it to March 7th.

March 7th took the Fishing Rod and giggled. "This young lady wants a pretty statue too! I'm going to take lots and lots of pictures with it!"

Asta felt a flicker of temptation as well. Of course, she didn't lack a statue; she fantasized about having Fu Zhu build an entire planet just for her. However, Herta had roped her into helping study the cobblestone, so she couldn't participate.

Several hours passed in a flash.

Fu Zhu had already mined a full inventory's worth of cobblestone, while Herta's research still yielded no results.

The fishing duo, on the other hand, had a bountiful harvest—of sorts. Xing's feet were surrounded by a sea of flopping pufferfish. She herself occasionally coughed up blood, her face deathly pale, with faint dark circles visible under her eyes.

In contrast, March 7th had specifically requested a new empty bucket from Asta, which was now brimming with all sorts of fish—both freshwater and saltwater species resided within. Heavens knew how astonished she looked when she first saw freshwater and saltwater fish appearing simultaneously in the swimming pool.

Fu Zhu observed them for a while. Seeing that they genuinely couldn't seem to fish up the Enchanted Book, he shook his head helplessly. After all, Mending was a Treasure Enchantment. The probability of finding it on fishing rods or bows was already low, let alone finding a specific book enchanted with Mending.

"If it's not working out, maybe we should just call it quits for now, next time we can..."

Before Fu Zhu could finish his sentence, Xing suddenly yanked her Fishing Rod. A book, glowing with a faint purple sheen, leaped out of the pool and landed right at her feet.

Seeing this, Fu Zhu immediately strode over, sucked the book into his inventory, then took it out for inspection. Emblazoned on the book was indeed the Mending enchantment!

"Holy crap, you actually fished it up?" Fu Zhu looked at the smug-faced Xing with some astonishment. But then, glancing at the uniform collection of pufferfish surrounding her feet, he felt a sense of resignation. Anyone who could only catch pufferfish while fishing was either cursed with terrible luck or an RNGesus disciple!

"Bro, is this the book you wanted?"

"Mhm. Go on, tell me what you want."

Xing was about to immediately ask Fu Zhu to build her the pure gold statue, but on second thought—with her brother possessing such powerful abilities, would she ever lack money in the future? This wish absolutely couldn't be wasted here!

"Let me think about it first! I'll tell you when I've decided!"

"Fine by me." Anyway, Fu Zhu didn't currently have enough materials to build her a pure gold statue, so postponing the request was acceptable.

Now that he had Mending, he just needed to find an Anvil, apply the enchantment to the blade of the Godfall Sword, and he could restore the sword to its former glory. However, for him at this stage, acquiring an Anvil was a bit of a luxury. He would likely have to wait until the Astral Express traveled to a more "normal" planet before he had the chance to craft one.

March 7th pulled out her phone to check the time. They had already spent nearly eight hours in the natatorium. Himeko had even called several times during that period to check on their situation.

"Fu Zhu, Xing, it's getting late. Should we head back first?"

Fu Zhu nodded. He was also curious to see what the Astral Express, his future residence, looked like. Besides, he hadn't set a respawn point yet. Although he wasn't sure if he could even respawn, he definitely needed to set a respawn point, just in case. What if he was operating in Survival Mode?

"Wait a moment, you're leaving?" Herta, who had been engrossed in studying the cobblestone, heard that Fu Zhu and the others were about to depart and immediately stood up, looking their way.

Fu Zhu nodded and asked, "Yeah. Herta, is there something else you need?"

Herta pinched her chin, pondering for a moment. A bold idea spontaneously sprang to life. She knew very well that she couldn't keep Fu Zhu detained at the Herta Space Station purely for her research purposes, yet her curiosity about MC technology was immense. So, why not create something within the space station that would allow her to continuously study MC technology?

For instance, what if she combined the Simulated Universe with MC technology? Use the Simulated Universe to simulate Fu Zhu's homeland—perhaps she could even observe the development history of MC technology!

With this thought, Herta immediately flashed a sweet smile, sidled up to Fu Zhu, and began lightly tugging at the corner of his clothes, swaying back and forth slightly.

"Mr. Fu Zhu, I have a project... I wonder if you might be willing to cooperate?"

"A project?" Fu Zhu eyed Herta suspiciously, sensing she might have ulterior motives towards him.

Herta raised her hand and snapped her fingers. Asta, standing nearby, immediately understood the signal, retrieved a check from her pocket, placed it respectfully in Herta's hand, and Herta then presented it to Fu Zhu.

"You can fill in any number you like; consider it a token of my sincerity. I am currently planning a project called the Simulated Universe. I hope to incorporate the MC technology from your homeland into it. Who knows, we might even be able to simulate the past and future of MC technology."

"Oh?" Fu Zhu's interest was piqued. He was genuinely curious about the extent to which Herta's proposed Simulated Universe could simulate reality. Could it possibly even simulate MC mods? If so, wouldn't that mean he could potentially skip the arduous process of accumulating Achievement Points to purchase mods and simply freeload them within the Simulated Universe?

"What do you need me to provide?" Fu Zhu readily agreed, not forgetting to accept the offered check. He had just arrived in this world and was currently dirt poor; nobody turns down money.

Herta's gaze drifted to the two cobblestone blocks sitting nearby. When talking about MC technology, its most iconic feature was undoubtedly its unique, blocky nature.

"I observed earlier that you possess an ability to shrink these cubic forms. I require these two cobblestones to serve as the foundational base for the Simulated Universe!"
