This Danzo Is Weird!

Chapter 47: 47. The Retreat of Kirigakure

The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had been utterly shattered.

In the original timeline, they were decimated by Might Duy, who opened the Eighth Gate in a furious sacrifice, turning them into nothing more than a tragic memory.

But under the butterfly effect of Danzo's actions, their fate was even worse. They had now been reduced to merely two surviving members—and one of them didn't even have a sword…

As Kirigakure's most elite combat force in this battle, the annihilation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen was impossible to conceal from the rank-and-file soldiers.

Especially with Konoha's spies fanning the flames, rumors and panic had already spread throughout the entire Kirigakure army.

Morale had plummeted.

And in this chaotic atmosphere, the large-scale counterattack led by Minato only further shattered their confidence in victory.

The frontlines between Kirigakure and Konoha had been completely ripped apart by Minato, like a blade slicing through flesh.

"It's the Yellow Flash!"

"Namikaze Minato is here! Retreat! RETREAT!"

Panic-filled cries echoed through the dense forest, but before they could escape, the terrifying whistle of kunai cutting through the air signaled the arrival of a golden blur.

Blades of light flashed.

One by one, Kirigakure's shinobi fell, cut down like crops being harvested.

Watching the enemy forces scatter and flee in all directions, Minato finally halted his assault.

"You're incredibly fast, Minato."

A voice came from beside him—it was Uchiha Fugaku.

After fighting side by side with Minato for some time, Fugaku's initial hostility had completely faded.

Because Minato's combat prowess was simply too overwhelming.

Forget ordinary Kirigakure shinobi—even special jōnin and jōnin risked being killed in a single strike!

And as an Uchiha, Fugaku respected one thing above all—absolute strength.

In response to Fugaku's praise, Minato humbly replied, "This victory wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Uchiha forces under your command."

Then, as if remembering something, he added, "Of course, the Hyuga Clan's Byakugan also played a crucial role."

Just as Minato finished speaking, Hyuga Hizashi arrived at the scene, catching the last part of his sentence. Hearing this recognition, he seemed quite pleased.

"Commander Minato," Hizashi reported, "All remaining Kirigakure forces in the area have been eliminated. Their main army is now rapidly retreating south toward the coastline."

"Well done."

Hizashi's report was exactly as Minato had expected.

Or rather, as Danzo had predicted!

Without the leadership of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, ordinary Kirigakure shinobi stood no chance against Minato's sheer speed.

With his mastery of the Flying Thunder God Technique, Minato was like a dagger that precisely pierced through enemy defenses, crushing their morale and creating the perfect openings for his allies.

Of course, the Uchiha and Hyuga Clans had played vital roles as well.

Given fair treatment and Danzo's rousing speech, the Uchiha had fought like warriors possessed, displaying combat prowess far beyond their previous battles.

As for the Hyuga, their Byakugan perfectly countered Kirigakure's Hiding in the Mist Technique, allowing Konoha's forces to strike first and dominate the battlefield.

Simply put—Konoha was utterly overwhelming Kirigakure on the front lines, forcing them into a desperate retreat!

The tides of battle had completely reversed!

Meanwhile, the Survivors of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen Fall into Despair

"The first line of defense has already been broken?"

Fuguki Suikazan clutched the battle report in disbelief.

Beside him, Biwa Jūzō let out a bitter chuckle, as if recalling something painful. "Isn't it obvious? With that Yellow Flash on the battlefield, no one can stop him!"

Fuguki pressed his fingers against his forehead, his tone heavy with exhaustion. "Then… what do we do next?"

Jūzō shook his head, his eyes filled with uncertainty. "The Mizukage hasn't issued any new orders yet, but I imagine he'll have us retreat for now."

"Retreat, huh…?"

Fuguki glanced toward the harbor behind them, his expression flickering with hesitation.

Would they even get the chance to retreat?

Jūzō sighed. "There's no other option. Morale is already in shambles, and Konoha is relentlessly hunting us down. Unless the Mizukage himself arrives at the front lines, I can't think of any way to turn this battle around."

To be honest, even if the Mizukage did come in person… he wasn't sure they could defeat the Yellow Flash.

Both men fell into a heavy silence, each lost in their own grim thoughts.

But that silence was soon broken.

Two masked figures from Kirigakure's Anbu arrived.

Unlike Konoha's Anbu, whose masks were shaped like animals, Kirigakure's Anbu masks were featureless, marked only by intricate patterns and two thin slits for the eyes. Their eerie design made them seem even more unsettling.

One of the newcomers, a woman with a firm, commanding voice, spoke first:

"By order of the Mizukage, we are here to assist in the retreat of Kirigakure's forces. Both of you are to return to Kirigakure immediately and report in person regarding the destruction of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen."

Her voice carried an air of authority—one that carried a mature, almost domineering presence.

Hearing the word retreat, both Fuguki and Jūzō felt an immense weight lifted from their shoulders.

Finally!

They could finally get out of this nightmare!

The last thing they wanted was another encounter with those monsters from Konoha—whether it was Namikaze Minato or Shimura Danzo.

Seeing their reaction, the masked woman let out a silent, mocking chuckle. Then, without warning, she removed her mask.

A cascade of deep wine-red hair flowed down her back, framing her proud, striking features.

"My name is Terumi Mei."

Her emerald-green eyes gleamed with confidence.

"From this moment on, I am taking command of the Kirigakure forces and overseeing the retreat."

Holding up an official document signed by the Mizukage, Terumi Mei swiftly assumed the role of commander and issued her first orders.

"The evacuation ships have already arrived at the harbor. Organize your men and ensure an orderly retreat—immediately."

Jūzō wasted no time, quickly rising to his feet. He was more than ready to leave this cursed battlefield.

Fuguki, however, lingered for a moment, giving Terumi Mei a deep, searching look before silently turning to leave.

Once the two men were gone, the second Anbu beside Terumi Mei also removed his mask.

He was none other than Ao, Kirigakure's experienced jōnin—infamously known as the Byakugan Hunter.

"Looks like those two really were scared witless by Konoha."

Terumi Mei's lips curled into a faint smirk of disdain as she watched them leave.

But the ever-prudent Ao gave a cautious reminder:

"That young man called Namikaze Minato—the one they call the Yellow Flash—is a master of the Second Hokage's Flying Thunder God Technique. His speed is almost impossible to counter."

"But even more importantly… the one we must truly fear is Shimura Danzo."

At the mention of that name, Ao's expression turned grim.

"That man is insidious and cunning. And worse—he possesses the legendary Wood Release bloodline from Senju Hashirama. He will be a formidable enemy."

Hearing this, Terumi Mei idly twirled a strand of her crimson hair around her fingers, her vivid red lips curving upward.

"The man they call the Darkness of the Shinobi World, huh?"

Her emerald eyes gleamed with intrigue.

"I'll be sure to remember him."
