The World's most Overpowered Side-Character

Chapter 420: Divine Tree Implant.

"Umbra," Sol narrowed his eyes. "Unlike the Emporium that threatens the livelihood of everyone, Umbra is a threat to the very foundation of life in the Grand Collective in which we reside, and everything that lay beyond its borders."

"He is a lunatic with only destruction on his mind who will stop at nothing to see all life eradicated from the face of existence," Sol answered, and the place went stiff with electric silence.

"He is an evil god serving an even darker entity which goes by Giza; a lifeform which predates the first light and creation itself."

"How could one man possibly stand against a threat of that calibre?"

"This is tedious... they just keep asking," Arla sighed watching Sol slowly lose his patience before the caeras. "If this keeps up, either Master or Milady will blow a fuse."

"He is not alone," Ikaris answered. "And he is not just some man," She shook her head.

"Master Vestic has been burdened to carry us all on his shoulders, quintillions of lives across an expanse so vast the sighe alone would overwhelm you beyond words, it is his destiny to face and defeat the darkness, as the one chosen by the light." Ikaris chimed in drawing all the cameras to herself.

"Will you be asking anyone on earth for assistance, there are a lot of powerful individuals who could possibly-"

"That will not be necessary," Ikaris shook her head. "Do not flatter yourselves, you are all children to be protected, there is nobody on earth capable of aiding in this endeavour."

"Miss, how can you-"

"Earth has barely evolved, you're all simply too weak to be of any help at all." Usami added. "Even as friends, I am unable to stand on the same stage as them, this is for the best, just leave it to us."

"I will make several more statements and have them released to the public in the very short future along with the full information on the Emporium and the Grand Collective, until then," She rested her hand on Sol's arm. "The system will be updated to hold an index with the answers you want."

"Wait-"

Like a clap of thunder, Sol, Ikaris and Usami vanished off the stage.

*Vestic Estates*

"So, you've made up your mind?" Sol turned to Usami as soon as they arrived in his home.

"Yeah, I hate to say it like this but I miss the fighting, I already know I can't really do much with the power I have right now, but even after everything that happened on Arkadia, and what happened with Atlas, I've still been yearning to get back out there, y'know?" She answered, tapping his arm with the back of her hand.

"I understand that feeling very well," Dina nodded, with arla doing the same."

"The spear hero wishes to fight again, I thought you would lay your weapon down for good,"

"So did I," Usami chuckled, raising her hand and showing them her hero crest with a spear through it. "I can't ignore this though, I was blessed with this power for a reason, I wasn't summoned bevause I was in the right place, it was destiny; the demons on Arkadia are long gone, and a lot ot other threats are no more..."

"But being a hero is not a one time or seasonal job," Dina added where her friend left off, raising her crest while Ikaris did the same. "It's a calling that reaches to the depths of your soul and calls you to action constantly."

"That is exactly why I think Eris is no hero, she may have been once, but she broke her own oath and turned her back on her duty." Usami added again. "I want to help, even with everything I have endured... no, rather, its because I know that I can help a lot of others in similar situations to what I was once in."

"Well said," Sol smiled, resting his hand on Arla's and staring at her. "That brings me to the next thing I wanted to address."

"Pardon?"

"You've been waiting, now is the time, Arla." Sol smiled down at her, and at his words the Elf flinched and looked around the room; as she had wanted, everyone was present, they were all ready to witness her ascension from a demigod to Divine.

"I do not have an opponent," She looked at them all once more. "You wanted me to witness your power, I also want to witness it, but before we do this there is one more thing you need to do."

"Your wish is my command, Master," Arla took several steps backwards from Sol and lowered her head in reverence. "What do you desire of me?"

"I don't want something from you, rather, i wish to give you what was yours from the start," Sol held her shoulders and straightened her stance. "Before your ascension to divinity, I'm going to give you a portion of the divine tree, after Ikaris and then Dina, it only makes sense that you recieve yours as well."

"It takes about a month overall for the tree to properly take root and spread without discomfort, and after a year of honong and sharpening your already refined mana control I have no doubt that it will go well,"

"Or at the very least better than my experience," Dina chuckled, rubbing her neck nervously.

"What happened with you?" Usami asked out of curiosity.

"I lost consciousness and had no idea of the amount of pain I went through, hours had gone by and without me even realising it." Dina sighed.

"Let us not forget the smell," Sara made a gesture to cover her nose. "Our bodies are full of impurities, when the impurities we have are challenged by the stainless mana that Master possessed, it the body is purged entirely forcing the muck outwards in whatever way possible.

"I scrubbed myself for hours..." Dina shook her head, rubbing her forehead."

"Ugh, so it is both painful beyond reason and disgusting to boot." Usami assumed.

"Ikaris didn't suffer any such symptoms, but that's probably because she was already a Divine under reconstruction by Master's mana, she didn't even feel pain, it was just a slight discomfort for her.

"That was only due to the strength of my soul, I do not need to tell you, but Arla's constitution right now is much better than yours was when we did it, she will be alright." Ikaris explained.

"Of course, she has been preparing since then." Dina looked at the elf who was still conversing with Sol.

"Let's go," Sol suddenly perked up, gesturing to the stairs.

"Yes..." Arla nervously responded, walking behind him while he ascended the stairs.

"I will accompany them as well," Ikaris turned to the full lounge of guests and took off.
