Chapter 7: Chapter-6: Tsunade
As Akira focused on his leaf-cutting exercise, he couldn't help but reflect on the life he'd lived so far. It had been five years since he was reincarnated into the Naruto world. At first, the idea of living in such a dangerous and chaotic world had been overwhelming. With memories of his past life as Anirudh, a dedicated medical professional, he knew how fragile life could be—even more so in a world filled with shinobi, wars, and deadly powers like jutsu and tailed beasts.
But he had been fortunate. Born into a wealthy merchant family, Akira had opportunities many civilian children didn't. His family's wealth provided him access to resources and training that most children could only dream of. The luxury of private tutors, access to rare books, and a stable life shielded him from the hardships faced by many in this world.
Yet Akira knew this privilege wasn't enough to ensure his survival.
Akira (thinking):
"I may be better off than the average kid, but that doesn't mean much in a world where even children are thrown into battle. If I want to survive and protect the people I care about, I need to become strong. Strong enough to rival the shinobi who will shape this world."
His thoughts often drifted to Lady Mochizuki, his mentor and his mother's close friend. A veteran of the First Ninja War and a member of the Senju clan, she was one of the strongest shinobi he had ever met. Akira felt a deep sense of gratitude toward her.
Akira (thinking):
"If it weren't for Lady Mochizuki, I'd still be fumbling around with basic exercises. She's pushed me beyond what I thought I could handle, and every day, I feel myself growing stronger. I owe her so much."
His pink hair was a constant reminder of his unique identity in this world. While it often drew teasing remarks, Akira found it strangely comforting. It connected him to his mother, Umeko, whose vibrant personality and sharp business acumen he admired deeply. His father, Toshiro, a retired shinobi and now a successful merchant, had passed down his Senju lineage but not the skills that typically came with it.
Akira (thinking):
"My father may not have been a strong shinobi, but that doesn't mean I can't make the most of my heritage. Even if I'm only half-Senju, I'll train until I can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the greatest shinobi in history."
Akira's knowledge of the Naruto series was limited to the original anime, which frustrated him. He had no idea how events would unfold or how the world's history aligned with what he remembered.
Akira (thinking):
"All I know is that I was born a few years after the First Ninja War, and the Second Ninja War is still about a decade away. If the author of Naruto really based the timeline on the world wars, then I have about twelve years to prepare before chaos erupts again."
Tsunade frequently came to mind. From the little he remembered of the show, she had been a figure of immense strength and charisma—and admittedly, Akira had a bit of a crush on her.
Akira (thinking):
"She must be around nine years old now, probably close to finishing the academy. Tsunade was always my favorite character. She's cool, beautiful, and, well, let's not even start on her… assets. But this world isn't fiction anymore, and I'm actually living in it. Maybe I'll get to meet her someday."
His resolve strengthened as he thought about what lay ahead. The world was unpredictable, and the path to becoming a strong shinobi was riddled with challenges. Still, he had a plan. He would train relentlessly, learn as much as he could about this world, and forge his own path.
Akira (thinking):
"I've got twelve years to catch up to the level of the legendary Sannin. No shortcuts, no cheats—just hard work. I'll show this world what I'm capable of."
Just as Akira began to refocus on his exercise, a playful voice jolted him from his thoughts
Tsunade:
"Hey, pinky! Are you sure you're not practicing flower arrangement instead of ninja training?"
Startled, Akira turned to see a young blond girl standing at the edge of the training field, smirking. She was around nine years old, her confident stance and mischievous grin unmistakable.
Akira (annoyed):
"What did you just call me?"
Tsunade (grinning):
"Pinky! What else would I call someone with such pretty, pink hair? Are you sure you're not supposed to be a girl?"
Akira sighed, brushing off her comment. He had heard this joke far too many times, but coming from her, it felt different.
Akira (smirking back):
"Well, at least I don't look like I've rolled around in the sun all day, Blondie."
Tsunade blinked, then burst into laughter.
Tsunade:
"Good one! I like you. You've got some fire, Pinky."
Tsunade stepped closer, her eyes scanning Akira's training setup.
Tsunade:
"Wind chakra, huh? Not bad for a kid. But I'm not here to just chat. Let's see if you're as good at fighting as you are at talking back. How about a spar?"
Akira (nervous):
"Wait, you're Tsunade, right? Aren't you already at the academy? You're way ahead of me."
Tsunade (grinning confidently):
"Of course I am. But you've got that Senju blood in you, don't you? Let's see if it's worth anything."
Akira couldn't back down now. He knew sparring with her would be a challenge, but he also saw it as an opportunity to test himself.
Akira (nodding):
"Alright, let's do this. But don't hold back, Blondie."
Tsunade (smirking):
"Don't worry, Pinky. I never do."
The Sparring Match
They moved to the center of the field. Tsunade took a loose, confident stance, while Akira mirrored her, focusing on keeping his chakra steady.
Tsunade darted forward with incredible speed, aiming a punch at Akira's midsection.
• Akira barely managed to sidestep, feeling the shockwave of her fist hitting the ground behind him.
• She followed up with a sweeping kick, forcing Akira to backflip out of her range.
Akira (thinking):
"Her strength is insane! If one of those hits lands, I'm done for."
Akira quickly channeled chakra to his feet and dashed in, attempting to catch her off guard.
• He threw a series of quick punches, but Tsunade effortlessly blocked each one, her smirk never fading.
• Pivoting on his heel, Akira used a spinning kick aimed at her side, but she caught his leg mid-air and flipped him onto the ground.
Tsunade (laughing):
"Is that all you've got, Pinky? You've got the moves, but no power behind them!"
Akira's Strategy
Determined not to give up, Akira shifted his strategy.
• Remembering his wind chakra, he quickly infused it into his movements, increasing his speed.
• He began circling Tsunade, staying just out of her reach and looking for an opening.
Tsunade (grinning):
"Running in circles won't save you!"
• As she lunged forward, Akira used her momentum against her, sidestepping and landing a light kick to her back.
Akira (smirking):
"Gotcha!"
The Finish
Tsunade quickly recovered, her grin turning into a more serious expression.
Tsunade:
"Not bad, but playtime's over."
She unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks, forcing Akira on the defensive. Despite his best efforts, her overwhelming strength and experience finally got the better of him. She landed a soft but firm punch to his chest, sending him skidding back.
Akira sat on the ground, catching his breath as Tsunade offered him a hand.
Tsunade (smirking):
"You're not bad, Pinky. I mean, for someone who's still learning the basics. Keep working on that wind chakra of yours—it's got potential."
Akira (panting):
"Thanks… Blondie. I'll beat you someday, just wait."
Tsunade (laughing):
"I'll be waiting. But for now, you've got a long way to go. And maybe… you're not so bad after all."
As she walked away, Akira couldn't help but smile. Despite her teasing, he knew he had made an impression—and maybe even a friend.
