Chapter 513: Chapter 513: A New Servant: The Flame Dragon Princess
After a round of "friendly" negotiations, the three deities and the Titan reached an agreement. They signed a contract that limited the use of the Stellar Orbital Cannon, a forbidden weapon.
The Titan promised that unless absolutely necessary, the Emperor of Machines would never be the first to use the Stellar Orbital Cannon to attack the realms of the deities in the world of Erathia. What constituted a necessary moment would be at the Titan's discretion.
This contract, whether signed or not, made little difference. It had no binding power on the Titan. However, for the weaker deities, this almost meaningless contract provided some psychological comfort. At least it indicated that as long as they did not provoke the Titan, they wouldn't indiscriminately unleash the cannon to massacre the gods.
Even for such a loosely bound contract, the deities offered many rare resources to the Titan to ensure that the Emperor of Machines happily signed the contract witnessed by the will of the world.
...
"I have never offended you. Please spare my life, great Lord of Synapse," pleaded the red-haired pirate queen, kneeling at Muria's feet. She was a woman with long, waist-length hair that resembled blazing flames. It was hard to imagine how much hardship she had endured to become a legendary pirate queen who dominated the seas. "I am willing to offer you all my wealth as compensation for my offense."
"Hmm!" Muria's nostrils flared as he curiously studied the female pirate queen before him. A slight, amused smile appeared on his face as he shook his head. "Not enough."
"What must I do for you to spare me?" she asked.
"I want you!" Muria replied with a smile, stating his demand.
"I..." Upon hearing Muria's request, the red-haired pirate queen immediately looked up, her face showing a mix of embarrassment and hesitation as she gazed at the black-haired, golden-eyed youth before her.
"Don't overthink it. I only want you to serve me. Your looks don't interest me," Muria said with a casual smile, looking at the voluptuous pirate queen kneeling at his feet.
This pirate queen, with a hint of red dragon blood in her veins, had remarkable beauty. However, compared to the exceptional beings like the silver moon elf Hessel and the red dragon Cynthia by Muria's side, she was inferior. Muria showed no interest in her.
Hearing Muria's words, which didn't seem to be insincere, the red-haired pirate queen's face turned alternately pale and flushed with embarrassment. She lowered her head to hide her discomfort, wishing she could dig a hole in the deck and jump into it.
"Have you thought it over? Are you willing to pledge your loyalty to me?" Muria pressed. A willing servant, especially a legendary one, was far more valuable than one reduced to a power source.
"I agree!" The Flame Dragon Princess, Serfilia, known as the red-haired pirate queen, gritted her teeth and uttered these words. She now cursed the giant pirate king who had invited her to join the attack on Synapse. Without even setting sail, she had been sold out, leading to her facing this undeserved disaster.
"Good. Sign the contract," Muria said, producing a servitude contract. The terms were very "lenient": Serfilia would serve Muria unconditionally for three hundred years, obeying all orders that didn't endanger her life.
The contract's witness was the impartial Dawn God, Lathander. According to Casio, this deity had a rather good relationship with the Titans, which is why Muria chose him as the witness.
Under the pressure of Muria's draconic aura, the legendary pirate queen, Serfilia, the Flame Dragon Princess, chose to bow to circumstances. After their close combat, she had felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness, unable to overcome Muria in any aspect, be it technique or physical prowess. Her red dragon bloodline seemed laughable in comparison. Moreover, she sensed that the youth before her hadn't even been using his full strength; his human form was merely a disguise, and his true power would be far more terrifying if fully revealed.
"Very good. You are wise," Muria nodded in satisfaction after seeing the pirate queen leave her soul imprint on the contract. He had not pushed things to the limit.
Three hundred years was neither too long nor too short for a legendary being with a lifespan of over a thousand years. It left some hope for the future.
After all, the pirates' plans to raid Synapse had not yet moved beyond the planning stage; they hadn't even begun to execute their scheme. This was why Serfilia was filled with such resentment.
Muria continued his campaign, leading his giants to decimate the forces in the surrounding seas of Synapse. Any power that had once attacked Synapse was crushed. Their legendary leaders were sealed and used as power sources. As for their subordinates, those Muria found agreeable were kept as slave warriors for Synapse. Those he found unworthy were returned to nature.
One particular blue-skinned pirate king sold out the four other legendary pirates he was associated with to gain a chance to survive.
Serfilia, the Flame Dragon Princess, was among these unfortunate victims. For her, it was akin to a sudden catastrophe. She had merely accepted an invitation from a colleague for a big job, only to find herself inexplicably turned into Synapse's pawn.
However, Serfilia was still the luckiest among them. The other three pirate kings were directly crippled and sealed by Muria. Their appearances were so bizarre that Muria could not tolerate such oddities among his subordinates.
Piracy, an almost boundless free profession, attracted a variety of races. Humans constituted a significant portion, but many others participated.
The three pirate kings, none of whom were human, had extraordinarily peculiar forms. The most representative among them was a figure with a face covered in squid tentacles. This legendary pirate gave Muria a slimy, wet feeling, which he found extremely disgusting. Muria had to take a moment to restrain his urge to kill him on the spot when they met.
After three days and nights of battling or, rather, crushing his foes on the ocean, Muria returned to Synapse with his team. He had avenged all grievances. The forces opposing Synapse were merely small-time powers with legendary figures at most.
The truly powerful entities wouldn't dare provoke Muria at this juncture. Who would want to antagonize the Titan race now? Thus, Muria's opponents were mostly low-level legendaries. The strongest among them, whom Muria valued and forcibly recruited, was the third-tier legendary Flame Dragon Princess.
"Mia, have you organized the spoils from this campaign?" Muria asked lazily, seated on a throne crafted entirely from fire elemental crystals, inlaid with lightning and wind elemental crystals.
"Yes, it's all organized."
"Report it."
"This campaign yielded six first-tier legendary captives, two second-tier legendaries, and three legendary corpses. We captured a total of forty-two Soul Intent-level individuals, three hundred and seventy-nine at the Gold level, and over two hundred thousand below the Gold level.
As for the loot, we collected 13,700 ounces of adamantine, 96,300 ounces of mithril... This was a glorious victory."
