Chapter 54

You guys probably know that Enson doesn’t have a good reputation in Japan either.

I’m not sure why, but they seem to despise it even more than us.

There were apparently a lot of people waiting for an opportunity, and when this scandal broke out, they decided to do the same 2500 pulls test on the game recently embroiled in controversy. The results were hilarious!

For Girls’ Memorial, the announced pickup rate of 1.5% was precisely met, and for Reverse Arcadia, the rate was even higher at nearly 1.5%, exceeding the limited Henrietta pickup rate of 1%.

To all those who were claiming Enson was manipulating probabilities or whatever, take that!

– Haha. I believed them this whole time.

– How could a director who apologizes sincerely and confidently in front of users be committing fraud?

– Haha, true.

– With all the bashing on Enson gone, it feels so refreshing.

012. They were enthusiastically trashing the game because it’s from the older brother’s country, but it turns out that the older brother’s country’s games are actually honest. www

018. Japan, the inferior island nation, admits defeat. www

033. Where did all those right-wing netizens who loudly declared that every Enson game must be a scam go? www

056. This is the worst.

094. From today, the mobile gaming industry is conquered. The older brother of Korea is above in gaming.

====

The reaction is similar to when Korea’s national team beats Japan’s in an international competition. Haha!

Seems like they truly believed Enson was also manipulating the probabilities.

When they actually tested it, the results showed that Enson’s games were clean, so now they’ve turned to self-loathing. Haha!

Even though I’m not one to indulge in nationalist pride over such matters, why are Enson guys like this? Have they really pulled themselves together?

– Seriously, the times have changed. Haha.

– Were all Japanese mobile games caught in a scandal?

– No, not all of them, but quite a few popular ones have.

– Official announcements haven’t been made yet, but many well-known games are apparently involved…

[Title: Breaking news) Ceiling discovered in Reverse Arcadia?]

[Summary image of Reverse Arcadia’s Ceiling System]

I haven’t fully understood it myself, but I’ll explain it roughly for those who don’t know Japanese.

As everyone knows, Reverse Arcadia officially doesn’t have a ceiling system.

However, while testing this time, it was noticed that they seem to have secretly implemented an unusual system.

As you all know, a one-truck in Reverse Arcadia consists of 50 pulls, right?

According to Japanese testers, it appears that the probability of getting a 3-star character increases after 50 pulls, seemingly by chance.

For example, the basic 3-star probability in Reverse Arcadia is 2%, but after 50 pulls, the probability increases by 2% per pull.

Divide 100 by 2, and you get 50, so regardless of how unlucky you are, you should get at least one 3-star character by your 99th pull.

What’s more surprising is that even if you hit a “pick pierce” at your 99th pull, a limited pickup character is guaranteed in the 200+ pulls.

[Official Gacha Statistical Data Image for Reverse Arcadia]

Looking at the statistics, you’ll notice that there are no pick pierces past the 201st pull.

This means that if you get a 3-star character over 200 pulls, it will definitely be Henrietta, the current limited pickup character.

I don’t know why Enson GT and Jihojin didn’t disclose this system. Is it something like a strength gimmick?

– Why did this guy hide such a thing?

– Really? Such a system existed? Haha.

– No wonder everyone who pulled over 200 in Reverse Gacha reached success.

– If this is true, then Ho-jin is truly a god. Dang.

A drastically different community atmosphere compared to a few days ago when the fire started.

With the Japanese data being so clear, it was impossible to bash, and the heated public opinion was quickly quelled.

Although I personally didn’t give it much thought—since we never manipulated probabilities, it was quite a natural outcome.

But somehow, it felt like something was missing if we were to end it just like that.

Even if we did nothing, Saingames was bound to suffer image damage, and our game would benefit in reverse, but…

The opportunity seemed too big, and it felt like settling for too little in return.

Isn’t there some way we could take advantage of this? While monitoring the community, my smartphone rang.

The caller was as expected—Tanaka.

Good timing, I was just about to call him.

“Hello, Department Head, I’m just checking in to see if everything’s okay.”

“This side is fine, just normal. How are things on the Japanese side?”

“This side is in chaos. The situation is escalating to legal disputes over violations of prize labeling laws, so everyone is in a nervous mood. How about Korea?”

“Here… well, it flared up a few days ago and it did spread over here, but it calmed down quickly. The Japanese data proved effective.”

“Ah, I see. That data must have spread to Korea too. I was also impressed. Testing 2500 pulls and aggregating them into sample data is… wow.”

“Exactly.”

“Anyway, we’re innocent, so I think we can just wait for this to blow over quietly.”

“That’s why I’m suggesting we do something more than just waiting.”

Taken aback by the proposal, I explained my plan to Tanaka.

“So, summarizing your idea, you’re saying we should use the current good atmosphere to strike the biggest blow to Saingames through a live broadcast, right?”

“That’s right. This situation is purely beneficial to us, and it would be a shame to let it end here.”

“Hmm… The plan itself seems good, but are you sure it’s alright? Live broadcasts have risks like broadcast accidents, and unlike recordings, there are many things you must consider, especially for a beginner.”

“That’s fine. I have relevant experience.”

The statement wasn’t a lie.

Even before the regression, I had live broadcasting experience, albeit back in a different era.

At the time, while working for ND Soft, I acted as the face of the company, participating in live broadcasts to communicate with users.

“I see, if Department Head says it’s fine, then… Since various preparations are needed for a live broadcast, I’ll contact you again in a few days.”

“Thank you.”

After ending the call with Tanaka, I sighed involuntarily.

It’s been a few years… No, counting since the regression, it’s been almost seven years, hasn’t it?

It was my first live broadcast in seven years, but instead of worrying, I was only preoccupied with thoughts on how to deal the biggest blow to Saingames.

***

Three days later.

Tanaka and I visited the live studio located at Enson Korea’s headquarters.

The unexpected reason for coming together with Tanaka was that he himself was the employee from SFLAG who came to offer help.

When I asked why he came personally instead of sending an employee as promised, he apologized with a look of embarrassment, saying:

“My successor, who was supposed to come here, contracted gastroenteritis…”

Despite my initial query, having Tanaka rather than some random employee felt more trustworthy, so it almost felt like a gain.

Thus, the preparations for the broadcast with Tanaka went smoother than expected.

The official Reverse Arcadia account on the streaming site was already set up before we arrived.

Also, managers began entering the chat room to ensure the chat remained of a high quality.

“Most disturbances will be resolved by the managers so there shouldn’t be much difficulty during the broadcast.”

Tanaka likely prepared this to prevent me from facing disruptions during the live broadcast, but…

Honestly, it didn’t seem very useful.

Compared to the days when I received death threats and curses due to excessive monetization, the current users’ chat was relatively simple and manageable.

Anyway, after finishing the preparations with Tanaka’s help, we moved onto the rehearsal.

However, the issue arose from the studio’s staff, who, due to their lack of live broadcast experience, were occasionally fumbling through their tasks.

It’s understandable, the live broadcasting industry hadn’t taken off by 2015, unlike the 2020s pre-regression.

Nevertheless, thanks to the efforts of Tanaka and the studio staff, the preparations were completed and the rehearsal began in earnest.

“Hello everyone, this is Director Jihojin from Reverse Arcadia.”

After greeting the users, I began the broadcast, occasionally glancing at the chat window on the laptop while referring to the script.

I was multitasking after a long break, and my brain wasn’t quite keeping up.

After 30 minutes of intense rehearsal, I exited the studio to find Tanaka waiting for me at the door.

“Good job.”

“Thanks. How was the rehearsal?”

“Excellent. There were slight hesitations when interacting with users, but with more rehearsal, this can be resolved.”

Relieved by Tanaka’s feedback that there were no major issues…

“We’ll proceed with the live broadcast as scheduled two days from now.”

“That sounds good.”

With that, Tanaka prepared for yet another rehearsal.

Watching him, I had a sudden thought and asked Tanaka.

“How about providing rewards during this live broadcast, similar to the ones offered during the opening commemorative video?”

Upon hearing my question, Tanaka paused momentarily and nodded.

“Good idea. Are you planning to determine the rewards via roulette again?”

“Likely.”

“Understood… And, Department Head.”

Tanaka interrupted me with a stern face.

“Don’t manipulate the roulette this time like last time.”

His resolute expression left me no choice but to nod…

Although, I was going to do it anyway.
