The Path To The Top

Chapter 3: Electro

**After 3 years**

In the middle of a forest, surrounded by trees, Damian and Mirage are training.

Damian's training involves getting used to his four arms, where each arm makes a different shape: the first arm a circle, the second a square, the third a triangle, and the last a diamond. He does these movements for about 5 minutes, alternating them, and after an hour of this, he moves on to the second training where he uses a tree as a punching bag, starting slow and increasing the force of each blow, punching with each arm and then kicking. The training only stops when the tree breaks, and finally, with the broken tree, he lifts it.

Mirage's training is a bit different. He begins with basic jumping exercises where he needs to jump from tree to tree or cross a river by jumping on rocks. After the jumping training, Mirage also does the tree punching, but unlike Damian, Mirage uses not only his fists and legs but also a wooden sword that they both made. He finishes with an hour of weight lifting and another hour of meditation to try to feel the electro.

Lastly, the two do a paired training, which is essentially sparring.

After the training, you can see both of them lying on the ground exhausted, until Damian starts to get up.

Damian: "*pant* Are you *pant* tired, Mira *pant*?"

When Damian finished speaking, he went to help Mirage, who had started to get up.

Mirage: "Are you *pant* talking about *pant* yourself?"

Damian: "No, I'm *pant* talking about you, idiot."

Damian: "Haha, but putting that aside, I think I'm getting used to using all four arms. And you?"

Mirage: "Well, I still haven't managed to use the electro, but I'm getting quite used to the flexibility and speed of the minks."

Damian: "Well, I wish I could help, but I don't know how."

Mirage: "I thought you were the One Piece guy, the one who knew everything."

Damian: "See this, D.E? I try to help, and the guy responds with ignorance."

Damian: "But answering your ignorance, one thing is knowing the theory, another is the practice."

Mirage: "So what's the theory, wise guy?"

Damian: "As far as I remember, they never showed a mink training the electro, so I always thought it was something natural."

Mirage: "Makes sense, sorry about that, Dami."

Damian: "It's cool, Mira, it's not your fault for being so dumb."

Mirage: "Hey!!!"

Damian: "Tcharara"

Mirage: "Hahahah, what was that?"

Damian: "Isn't it obvious? That's my new laugh, patent pending."

Mirage: "*giggles* Don't worry Dami, that one's all yours. *giggles*"

As soon as they finished talking, they looked at the sky and were shocked, staring at each other.

Dami and Mira: "Holy crap!!!"

Mirage: "Dami... We're screwed, aren't we?"

Damian: "Calm down, Mira! There's still time to--"

Before he could finish speaking, Tristan appeared behind them.

Tristan: "Time for what, Damian?"

Dami and Mira: "Ahhhh!!!"

At that exact moment, something interesting happened. While Mirage was screaming, he didn't notice that his body started to glow, shining a bright blue, until a wave of energy emanated from him, throwing both Tristan and Damian into nearby trees.

After realizing what happened, Mirage looked around and saw Damian and Tristan lying on the ground. As he started to run towards them, he noticed his hands were making a crackling sound. When he was about to look at them, he heard Damian shouting while running towards him.

Damian: "Damn wolf and his damn luck, it's like protagonist luck."

Damian: "*sigh* But putting that aside, let's control those sparks."

Mirage: "And how the hell do you expect me to do that!?"

Damian: "Calm down, are you feeling anything different?"

Hearing Damian, Mirage began to focus on his hands and felt a faint tingling.

Mirage: "I think not... Wait, I feel something strange in my hands."

Damian: "Good, that's a good sign, but don't just focus on your hands, follow it to the center."

Following Damian's instructions, Mirage not only felt the tingling in his hands but also in his arms, and he followed it to his own heart.

Mirage: "Okay, what do I do now?"

Damian: "I don't know, dude, do like in the series and try to imagine turning off a faucet."

Mirage: "Okay, I'll see what I can do."

Mirage, trying to stop the electricity, imagined turning off a faucet, and the glow began to fade until...

Mirage: "Dami, look, it's working—ahhhhhhh!"

Damian: "Mirage!!!!!!"

Unfortunately, there was one thing they didn't expect: this technique only works if the user has a vivid imagination, which Mirage lacks, and it requires a certain level of concentration that a child's mind doesn't have, even if they are reincarnated. So, at the moment Mirage spoke to Damian, the energy returned with full force, causing him to overload and pass out.

Seeing Mirage and Tristan on the ground, Damian was worried but after a few moments, he sighed and spoke as he approached Mirage's unconscious body.

Damian: "Mira, you jerk, who's going to help me carry Tristan back to the orphanage?"

And he picked him up with some ease.

Damian: "Mira, you need to eat more."

With Mirage in one of his arms, Damian went over to Tristan.

Damian: "Seriously, Tristan, from a weak spark like that? I guess Pokémon was right, water loses to electricity, tcharara."

After that lame joke, Damian tried to lift Tristan, which was quite difficult since Tristan was several years older and much bigger than them.

Damian: "Wow! What are you eating, Tristan? Cement?"

So Damian adjusted Tristan on his own back and started running towards the orphanage.
