The Overlord Descends

"Are you sure about what you said?" In a place, underground a voice was heard addressing a question to someone. The person in question was Ouranos and he was doubtful of what he just heard.

"Yes, Ouranos-sama that's what I saw. We have to hurry up and hold the Denatus and inform the Gods of what is happening. I would like if you to bring up the idea of an alliance. When you do I think it would be a good idea to nominate Ainz Ooal Gown as the leader." A robed person was standing in front of Ouranos as he gave his ideas.

"Mhm, It would be a good idea to suggest an alliance but why do you think that we should nominate Ainz Ooal Gown as the leader of the alliance? Those gods wouldn't like it because he is a newcomer. They would never follow another god who just recently came."

"Well for starters he already has an alliance with lady Hephaestus, Lord Miach, and Goibnui. I don't know if he has a connection with other gods but just having connections with the two major blacksmith familia in Orario gives him a chance."

"But who knows if they would really support him," Ouranos answered and it was true because nobody really knew what was the treaty they had. The only thing they knew was that they had formed an alliance just for researching the methods of the weapon they found because not even they could find how it was made.

"That's true but I also heard some information from the Loki Familia. It seems that they were rescued by Ainz's children when the first dungeon break happened. It is also said that they were on the 50th floor when it happened. Don't you feel something weird? I also overheard someone from the Loki Familia saying that Ainz came here in the first place because he knew something was about to happen and that was the reason that he sent his children to explore the dungeon when they arrived. They didn't even register nor were they seen or heard of when where they first appeared. Not even Ganesha-sama has information of him and he was in charge of checking the gates on the walls."

"Huh, I hadn't heard about any of that. If you say it like that, then indeed he has an alliance with almost all the bigshots in Orario. He is indeed suitable for the leadership position. But how did he know about what would happen in Orario? Is he one of the Gods that can see the future? We need to find more information about what is happening from him if that's the case. I would like to hold the Denatus today but it's already late so I can't do it without notice. I will announce moments from now, that we will hold the Denatus tomorrow. I think the Gods will understand the urgency because we have never rescheduled the Denatus before." Ouranos put a thoughtful face as he planned what he would do next he then turned to Fels and beckoned him over.

"Can you take a letter to Ainz? It will be a formal invitation as it is his first time going to a meeting like this." He then took a letter that he had already written for Ainz.

Fels took the letter that had a red seal on it as he thought why his god had already written the letter when the Denatus was supposed to be held after some time. Still, he didn't question his god and began to leave with rapid steps.

He began to walk for a while until he came in front of a steel door he opened it and began walking inside. The paths he took were all tunnels he knew like the back of his palms.

After some twists and turns, he came to a dead-end but it didn't seem like that for him as he pushed a small hidden button and the walls in front of him opened. He came out into a desolate place where no person was seen and he began to walk like nothing had happened as the walls had already closed without a sound.

walking for a while he began to see lights on the streets but there was almost no person seen walking. It was a desolate street one could say if one didn't know better they would think that it was dangerous that's why there was no one.

He came in front of a ginormous gate that held a logo that represented Ainz's Familia.

"Is Ainz Ooal Gown-sama available at the moment?" Fels politely asked the gatekeeper as he felt that the latter was stronger than him.

"Ainz-sama Is not available at the moment but was there anything you need with urgency if that's so we would try to contact him immediately. If that's not the case then you can leave a message to his most trusted subordinates." The burly Gatekeeper responded.

"It's not urgent but I would like to get in contact with his subordinate if possible then."

Tuk,

a small noise was heard as the gatekeeper opened the gate that looked very heavy for a person to move alone.

The gatekeeper invited him inside and a maid appeared to guide him out of nowhere. He couldn't even detect when the person arrived.

Going inside he was surprised as all the floor was paved giving a beautiful view. They crossed some gardens and fountains and finally reached the mansion. They brought him to a room but he couldn't calm down as he was surprised because of what he saw on the way. He could feel that the place was filled with all manners of magical items as he himself was an item maker.

Everything inside the mansion was magical, sculptures of monsters(demons) and gods to paintings, the ceiling had some lamps and those too felt like magical items, There were flags that felt magical. There was not a single thing that had not felt magical. He then wondered what sort of God and people could make all those things.

As he sat in the cushion that was located in the room he felt that his skeletal head would explode because even in this room the cushion, desk, and chairs felt as if they had magic inside them.

After some seconds a figure came in. It was someone he had heard about. He was wearing the red suit in which he was described. He also had a tail that seemed made from metal.

"To what do I owe you the visit?" The person in front of Fels asked.

"Ouranos-sama sent me to give this to your god as he wants him to participate in the upcoming Denatus that will be held tomorrow." Fels took out the letter and gave it to Demiurge.

"I will give it to him when he reaches here." Demiurge stretched his hand as he took the letter.

"Okay then, that's all I needed to do so I'm going," Fels said goodbye as he took his leave.

Although he wanted to stay a bit more to analyze the magic items inside the room he had a busy schedule now that things were happening.

He was escorted out by the same made that brought him inside.

after coming out of the yard he saw a small broken church in front and he felt an aura from a god coming from it. He knew who it was and took his leave without looking in the direction he had just come out.

"Ainz-Sama It seems that you were invited to a Denatus held by a God. They sent this letter to you." Demiurge passed the letter to Ainz.

Ainz took the letter as he opened it and read what was inside.

'It seems that I was formally invited to a Denatus. When is it going to be held though? It doesn't even have the date. Should I take something as a gift?' Ainz thought as he read the letter.

Ainz lifted his face and looked at Demiurge and asked "did they give you when is it that's going to be held?"

"Yes, Ainz-sama, He told me that the Denatus is going to be held tomorrow," Demiurge answered as he wondered why Ainz asked him that question.

'Could it be that they didn't even include the date when it's going to be held?' Demiurge thought but he didn't think that someone would that stupid. But then again during the years, they had already encountered people that were extremely stupid. just to be sure he asked a question.

"Ainz-sama, does it write where it would be held?"

"Mhm, It will be held in the tower, on the 30th floor"

'They at least wrote the reception where it will be held. But how can you forget the time it will be held? or did they not write it because of the messenger they sent?' Demiurge left it at that as he didn't want to waste time thinking useless things.

"How is Cocytus's expedition going? Any problems so far?" Ainz asked

"There haven't been any problems so far, right no he is going to explore the 60th floor and then he will return to Nazarick."

"That's good. It seems that there was another dungeon outbreak today. Maybe that's the reason the Denatus will be held earlier." Ainz whispered. He had heard that there is a Denatus every 3 months and there was a bit more time left before it was held. Ainz came to the conclusion that because there were dungeon breaks more frequently the Denuatus would be pushed for tomorrow.

"Inform me when Cocytus is back. Also, did you make an eyeball corpse record his expedition?" Ainz couldn't watch the expedition live because he had a meeting with some gods that was beneficial if he could get closer to them. So he left after giving his buff to the army. 'It seems that they didn't even take an entire day to clear 10 floors. I thought it would take some time to map the whole floor and clear it but it seems that things are still easy even after going some floors down.'

"Yes, Ainz-sama we record the whole expedition. I will send it to you when the 60th is explored."

"Mhm, That's good then. Inform the others that I will be staying on the surface for these 2 days. After tomorrow I will return."

"Well, I'm taking my leave." Demiurge bowed and left the room. Ainz was currently on the mansion they built above ground.

'Do I use this robe tomorrow? Or do I use another high-level robe? I will separate all my high-level robes and make the maids pick one for the style. They are the ones that usually pick my robe.' Ainz thought of the different high-level robes he had and began to take them out of his inventory. All of them looked almost the same as he was currently wearing. The only difference was that some of them had gems for buttons or golden threads that hang out from them and the colors were different.

He then began to pick some items and put them aside in case something happened and he needed to escape.

'This is the last floor we will be exploring and after this, my mission is over.' Cocytus thought as he looked at the tunnel leading to the next floor. up until now, he hadn't made a move as there was nothing that needed his strength the only thing he did was command the army.

As soon as he entered the floor his vision expanded and in front of his eyes came a spooky-looking forest. Some trees looked lifeless, while others were dry. The floor gave an eerie feeling.

Thousands upon thousands of caterpillars came and began assaulting them. They looked the same as the ones that appeared on the 50th floor when they were translocated.

"Death. knights. defend" Cocytus commanded.

A wave of death knights moved forward drop their weapons and summoned another shield. All of them had two black shields as they defended.

"Liches. cast. fireball... Fire!. Overlord. Wisemen. after. they. finish. the. 6th. volley. of. fireballs. cast. [flame wing].

Hundreds of fireballs were fired in the air and created an explosion as soon as they hit the huge caterpillars. It was very effective as a lot of caterpillars were destroyed in seconds.

Boom,

The battlefield shook as the ongoing explosion destroyed everything after seeing that even the magic stones were destroyed Cocytus changed his command and made the liches use lightning and he change the commands he gave the overlord Wiseman and had them use [wind cutter]

After four volleys of [lightning] were cast the overlords began casting [wind cutter]

AAHhhhh,

A terrifying cry was heard as the overlords began to cast their magic. What appeared was a monster the upper shape was that of a woman the monster was green and the bottom part was like a plant.

After that magic circles began appearing around the monster as she began to chant.

"Overlord Chronos, use Temporal stasis and try to capture her. It seems that she can use a different magic system from us we need to capture her." Cocytus ordered the overlords that were adept at using time magic.

The monster was immediately frozen in time and she couldn't continue casting her magic. Now all they would have to do was to finish exploring the floor and return to nazarick.

After dealing with the monster they began to separate and explore the place.

After exploring the whole floor they began to gather in a place and as if someone knew that they had finished a portal was opened in front of them. The [Gate] was small at first but as time went on it went expanding until it was big enough to let thousands of undead side to side.

The overlord Chronos began to carry the large monster they captured on this floor.

As Coycytus passed through the gate he saw Aureola omega helping with the gate. Indeed without her, they wouldn't be able to open gates inside nazarick as she was the only one who had control of the teleportation that happened inside the tomb. If they tried to forcefully teleport inside the tomb they would be attacked by the system placed which could even do a huge amount of damage to level 100 players.

The sun was already rising and Ainz was currently in his room preparing his mind for what would happen later as he would attend a meeting where only gods were allowed.

He was currently face down on his pillow trying to think of all the countermeasures he could think of in case something unexpected happened.

A green hue surrounded after a while.

"It seems that I am too nervous about what can happen later today," Ainz murmured to himself.

Besides the door, there was a maid seated looking at him. Ainz had them sit during their shifts because they would stand there for the entire night and it pained him to see them like that. So he convinced them to sit down while they were here, but it took some time and effort to convince them because they were stubborn saying that sitting down would be a distraction for them.

As soon as Ainz made a movement to get up from the luxurious king bed the made stood up as if mimicking his movements.

"your Shift is over right?" Ainz asked as he saw the maid.

"No, Ainz-sama I still have an hour left and I will not leave until my shift is over." The maid said with some determination. It sounded as if Ainz was chasing her out and she was fighting for the time she had left.

"Umu, I see. Well, then I will be going to wash up. Later I have a meeting and I will have the maids pick me a suitable attire from the bunch of clothes I have chosen."

There was a terrifying glint in the maid's eyes as she heard that he would ask them to pick suitable clothing.

"I will tell the other maids and we will do our utmost to pick a suitable robe for the occasion."

After some time Ainz finished washing up and came to his room and laid out all the robes he found with a suitable layer of defense.

The bunch of maids that were following him began checking the robes that were laid out.

As they went through it, they went taking out those that they didn't think was suitable for the occasion, and finally, they picked one of the most simple-looking robes from the stash. It was white with some golden thread by the arms. It also had a golden threaded ribbon waist tie. It also brought a chain that was compromised with some small gems held by a small pillar of gold.

After they finished dressing him he took out a crude-looking gauntlet and as he was about to put it on the maids interrupted him.

"Ainz-sama, permit to ask this, is that gauntlet high level, or are you just using it to hide your beautiful untainted hands?"

"My gauntlet? No... no, it isn't a high-level item. ugh huh... I'm using it to hide my uhh... hands." Ainz was speechless because of how the maids described his hands.

"Oh, that's the case. Then do you have anything that's silver with gold? If so I think that would look the best with the current robe you're wearing." Even that?

Ainz asked himself so he then took out some of the gauntlets he had in his inventory and let the maids pick one too.

As things were going they surely wouldn't let him wear the red mask he got for Christmas in Yggdrasil. So he took out some masks too and let the maid pick one of them.

They were going like "Ainz-sama what a graceful being you are. You are even using a mask so that the other gods don't feel inferior when compared to your beauty."

Ainz gave a mental sigh as he heard what the maids were saying.

It seems that it is already time to go Ainz said as he looked out of the window.

"Well then, I'm going," Ainz said quietly as he teleported to the first floor.

On the thirtieth floor of Babel, the titanic structure at the center of Orario, an abnormal din filled the halls.

A Denatus was underway. Deities young and old, male and female, were attending the so-called advisory council, which was about to begin. All of them had too much time on their hands.

"It's hasn't been long since the last Denatus, hasn't it?"

"That's because right I suppose since all the trouble that's recently happened pushed forward the Denuatus earlier."

"Who could possibly wait for the Denatus when the are dungeon breaks happening every time?" The meetings were supposed to take place every three months, but due to events surrounding the dungeon breaks, the Denatus was held earlier than planned. Now, after repeated attacks, the deities were chatting excitedly as they gathered in the large hall. Some were even stretching in preparation, though there was no reason for it whatsoever.

"I heard that a lot of children were killed during this recent dungeon break."

"Yeah, but it seems that lot of them leveled up too. So I don't think it's a loss"

Some Gods were talking as if the lives that were lost were nothing to them. Some were giggling and talking about which god happened to have more children who leveled up.

"Huh, All the Gods here seem weak but some of them have their passive aura on. Should I put mine too?"

Ainz was sitting at an enormous table that could seat fifty. He was looking at his surroundings and analyzing some of the gods that were around him.

As he scanned the faces in the hall he saw some familiar faces like Loki, Miach, and Hephaestos it seemed that they were all present.

"I am Ganesha! More importantly, I am the facilitator of this meeting!"

"No way!"

"Ugh, if Ganesha is moderator, I'm going home…"

'Huh, so he is Ganesha. It seems that he isn't that liked. Is it because he is a pervert who holds that monster philia thing?' Ainz thought as he looked at the person who shouted.

"Wait, wait, don't be hasty! Ouranos will attend the meeting too! All righty then! I, Ganesha, will recount the recent events in the city!"

The god in the elephant mask energetically got the meeting started. First came the regular briefing, where information about the city and other locations was exchanged. But despite Ganesha's enthusiasm, the briefing ended almost before it had started

"Any questions? Speak up—I'm happy to answer any questions you have!" Ganesha prodded. Some attendees lifted their hands to ask some questions. This was surprising to Ganesha because every time he held a Denatus the attendees seemed to want nothing more than to get things over in a hurry. And he who had devoted himself day and night to maintain the peace in Orario ended up depressed.

"Do we know the source of what's causing the dungeon breaks?" A God who had lost various children in the recent break asked.

"ugh." Was the only noise Ganesha could let out. He had already expected questions like this but he didn't know anything that could be the cause of the recent breaks. "Ouranos will be addressing those things later on. So let's move on with the Naming ceremony."

Ganesha announced spiritlessly as he couldn't answer the question when there was finally one. The instant he did, the mood in the room transformed.

The deities were suddenly full of life and exploding with excitement.

"Yes, finally!"

"This is what I was waiting for!"

"It's the only reason I showed up today!"

'Naming ceremony?" Ainz wondered why the gods were excited as soon as it was announced.

Everyone grabbed copies of the Guild documents that were being passed around the table and eagerly began flipping through them.

Ainz grabbed one and saw a lot of names. It told the previous level and the new level they had.

"There are still some names that are missing because the announcement of Denatus was made suddenly and some people hadn't reported because yesterday was busy and they didn't have time," Ganesha said.

The last page was what caught the attention of many in the group. That's where they found the information about a white-haired human, hurriedly updated at the last minute by Guild staff, just like the Denatus. Bell Cranell was the name of the boy who had caught their attention.

It had written that it only took him a month and a half to level up to level 2. Some Gods turned to look at a certain Goddess that was in between Hephaestus and miach.

"I've never seen a kid level up this fast before ."

"It seems that this Dungeon break is indeed helpful as the children are getting stronger faster."

"Insane!"

"I wish the dungeon breaks continue so that my children could grow fast too."

Voices rippled out from around the oval table began talking about how the dungeon breaks were beneficial to the adventurers in a lot of ways. Even though a lot of people died they didn't care as it seemed that the people who lived were getting stronger than before. They were all exuberant, joyful cheers of support. The goddess of beauty smiled sweetly, while the goddess of tricksters narrowed her eyes and hummed

How was the boy able to grow so rapidly?

None of the deities in attendance uttered such an insensitive question as that. Everyone agreed that someone who had shown himself capable in a decisive fight and keeping himself alive when the dungeon breaks happened was someone who had a lot of potentials.

Their grins deepened and spread around the table.

Ainz saw that the potatoes Goddess was fidgeting around and her expression became stiffer and stiffer as the other deities grew more excited. Ainz wondered why she was like that when even others were happy for her.

"Soon, the Naming Ceremony will begin in earnest."

"Now then, let's get right to giving this Bell his nickname!"

"Wait, let's save the main dish for last!"

A god asked and others responded to his question.

A lot of new gods were present as their children reached level two and they finally had the qualification to attend the Denatus.

"Yeah who was it? Hemera the child who got fire magic as soon as she got a blessing right."

"Yeah it's her"

"Right, then, we'll start by deciding on a name for her."

"Hemera, The ever burning."

"No, I think the child of light would be better." After the god said this some gods turned to look at Nyx.

"Perfect!"

"That's for sure."

"Yes, it's decided!"

After that, the Gods began giving chunni names and weird names to the children.

Ainz was just watching what was happening and didn't give his opinion on the matter. He just thought that the names given were embarrassing.

"Two people in Raijin Familia leveled up as well."

"The kids from the Far East!"

"I'd say swallowing darkness is a good one."

"Swallowing darkness? twin stars would be better?"

"HAha, all of you can't come up with a name for them. Well, how about Eternal death or darkness."

"What has death to do in this?"

The Naming Ceremony proceeded without a hitch, and soon enough, it was Bell's turn.

Ainz turned to look at the potato goddess, it seemed that she was very nervous as perspiration was coming out from her face and she was panting a little.

The other deities were grinning and murmuring that the crucial moment had come.

They began naming him with several embarrassing names that Ainz cringed every time they talked.

Without being able to hold it any longer he gave his opinion.

"I think it is disrespectful to give names like that to a person who broke the records for the fastest level up." The word just came out of Ainz's mouth as he was tired of hearing childish names because every time it reminded him of a certain creation.

The Hall went quiet as soon as those words came out. Everyone turned to look at him as he panicked because he only said it in the heat of the moment and he wanted to get over with the cringe names.

Hestia and the gods around her nodded. Even other gods nodded in accordance with his word.

After that everyone began picking out names in a civilized manner.

"How About record-breaker?"

"No, usurper would sound better." The same god as that always said his names were better answered again.

Ainz saw that they chose the usurper without saying another word. He then wondered why none of the guardians or the others had gotten a nickname.

a tapping noise was soon heard as everyone present looked ahead to see who came they saw that it was Ouranos.
