The Limitless Naruto In Solo LEveLing

Chapter 4: Chapter - 4

"Why would you give me this chance?" Naruto asked, sounding curious.

"It's about keeping things balanced between the Guilds," Go Gunhee explained. "Right now, the power is mostly in the hands of the top five Guilds. If you join any of them, it could upset everything and lead to chaos. The Hunter Association wouldn't be strong enough to handle that chaos by itself. That's why we want you to join the Hunter Association. So, what do you think?"

Naruto looked at Go Gunhee once again as he looked down. He couldn't deny that he was intrigued by the offer. It was a very good offer, at least for someone who would rather have authority over money. Though some might argue authority can bring both. And it's not like he was not going to get paid by the Hunter Association; it just wouldn't be the same huge amount as the big guilds.

Seeing the hesitation of the young boy sitting in front of him, Go Gunhee let out a slight chuckle to break the nervousness. "No need to be nervous at all. You don't need to decide right now. You have time before the re-evaluation," he said, as he changed the topic. "I read about you. You were born in Japan, right?" he asked.

Naruto didn't look surprised, as it was no secret at this point that he was born in Japan, and he didn't have any intentions of keeping it a secret. So he just nodded to Go Gunhee's question.

"You are quite the talent, even in terms of study. So, when did your awakening happen?"

"Two years ago, I guess," Naruto replied.

"So, you've never been in a dungeon ever?" he asked back to Ben.

"No... Not yet. But I am excited to be there," Naruto said. "I will consider your offer," he said, standing up and extending his hand towards Go Gunhee. "I will make the decision after the evaluation and tell you. Is that okay, Chairman?"

Chairman Go Gunhee stood up with a smile on his face and shook Naruto's hand. "No problem. You can take your time, but I wish the best for you only," he said.

Naruto nodded as he proceeded to leave towards the door but paused as the chairman spoke up. "By the way, I will be there on the day of your re-evaluation," he said with a smile, and Naruto returned the smile with a nod.

Woo Jin Chul, who was standing in front of the door, opened it for Naruto.

"It's okay, I can go alone," Naruto said as he saw Jin Chul walking out as well.

Hearing this, Jin Chul stopped and nodded his head.

Naruto left the room as Jin Chul closed it behind him and proceeded towards the Chairman.

"Do you think he will accept the offer?" he asked Go Gunhee.

"I don't know. But one thing is for sure: his future would be promising, whether he joins the Hunter Association or any big guild," he responded.

Meanwhile, after leaving the room, Naruto walked towards the elevator and went back to the ground floor, leaving the Hunter Association building. As he looked up towards the sky, he thought, 'Should I join the Hunter Association? Wasn't my whole point of becoming a hunter to earn money? I would get money from the top Guilds, so why am I even considering joining the Hunter Association?' he asked himself, but he couldn't find the answer or the reason at all.

Suddenly, as he was thinking, a luxurious sports car came forth and stopped in front of him. As the glass went down, it revealed a very familiar figure sitting inside the car.

"Need a lift, Mr.?" said the person, who was none other than Aria, the girl he met recently during the rank evaluation. She was sitting in the backseat of the car as she looked out towards Naruto.

Naruto was surprised for a bit, as at first he couldn't recognize her because it seemed she was not wearing any makeup at their first meet-up, but now she was, so her face was completely different from what he remembered.

"What? Don't tell me you forgot me!" she said as she saw Naruto standing without speaking any word or replying.

Naruto snapped back from his thoughts. "No, I remember. But what are you doing here?" he asked.

"I was just... passing by and saw you standing here in deep thought. So I came to say hi, or maybe, if you accept, give you a ride to wherever you want to go," she said with a gentle smile.

'She is lying,' Naruto thought to himself, but didn't say anything about it. "No, I can take a cab. Thanks for asking," he replied gently.

"Oh... Come on, I insist," she said.

Naruto looked up; it was already evening, and he didn't want to stand there and argue with her anymore. So finally, after some more insisting from Aria, he accepted the ride and went around the car to take the seat beside Aria.

Aria simply smiled at him after he entered the car.

"Ma'am, should I go for shopping or..."

"No, first let's drop Naruto at his home... which is..." she said, looking at Naruto.

Naruto nodded as he told the address of his home, which was about a 40-minute ride from the place.

The driver started the car and switched lanes to go towards the given location of Naruto's home.

Meanwhile, inside the car...

"So, what happened after?" she asked Naruto.

"About the rank evaluation?" Naruto asked to confirm.

She nodded her head.

"I mean, it's nothing, just..."

"... You're becoming an S-Rank hunter?" she said, completing his sentence, which was not what Naruto was going to say, as he wanted to keep it quiet before the big announcement, but it seemed she already knew.

"You knew?" he asked.

"Of course not. I just guessed. I searched on the internet about what error in hunter evaluation means, and boom, I got it," she answered.

Naruto nodded, as that was understandable and very believable because most people would search the internet for information.

"What about you? What happened with your rank evaluation?" Naruto asked.

"Well, although not as interesting and big news as yours, I am an A-Rank hunter now," she said. "I am surprised you didn't hear yet on the news."

Naruto chuckled a bit. "I don't watch the news much."

"Of course," she said with a gentle smile. "By the way, have you thought about joining any guilds?" she asked.

"No, not yet," Naruto replied. "Have you?" he asked back.

"Yes. I think I will sign soon enough," she said.

"Oh... Good!"

After that, throughout the drive, they both remained silent as they both looked outside the window at the road without any words.

After some time, they finally reached the given location of Naruto's home. As Naruto instructed, they stopped in front of an 8-floor building.

"You live here?" she asked.

"Yeah, I have an apartment here," Naruto answered.

"Nice," she responded.

"Yeah. I will leave then," Naruto said as he opened the door of the car and stepped out. He walked around the car and stopped at Aria's side as she waved to him, and he waved back.

"See you soon!" she said.

"Yeah, if we are lucky enough, maybe," Naruto said as they both bid farewell to each other, and afterward, Aria's car left, leaving Naruto standing there.

[Inside the car]

After Aria left Naruto, she immediately picked up her phone and made a call to someone.

"What do you think?" a person asked from the other side of the call.

Aria picked up a small mirror from her purse as she looked at her face in it while responding, "He didn't give much information yet. Although, it doesn't seem like he is anyone special."

"So you are saying we can..."

"No... I need some time to decide. Give me some time, and I will report back about him," she said.

"Take as much time as you need, just do the job right."

Saying those words, the person on the other side hung up the call, as she had a playful smile on her face.

Meanwhile, Naruto started entering his apartment building and took the elevator.

He sighed, 'I guess I have to fight more than the monsters inside the dungeon,'
