Chapter 69: Masked man, Mk2 grenade explosion!
Lynn planned to go with Irina and the others, not because of any fault, but because he knew that Voldemort, who possessed Quirrell, would enter the Forbidden Forest tonight to hunt unicorns in order to save his life.
To weaken Quirrell and Voldemort's fighting power at the end of the school year, Lynn planned to prevent them from sucking the unicorn's blood.
However, Lynn did not know where Quirrell was in the Forbidden Forest. If he had to search for him on his own, it would be like a headless fly.
During the Christmas holidays, Lynn had followed Harry to find the Mirror of Erised, which had inspired him. As long as he followed the protagonists of the original book, Quirrell would naturally come to him.
"Thank you, senior, for your help!"
Irina's eyes lit up. She had witnessed with her own eyes how Lynn used those alchemical products to kill the giant monster.
Even the towering giant monster could be defeated, proving how powerful Lynn was.
Hagrid hesitated to speak. Strictly speaking, Lynn's actions violated the school rules. After all, Lynn was not punished, yet he had entered the Forbidden Forest alone.
He wasn't sure whether he should stop him.
Seeing Hagrid's hesitation, Lynn said, "Hagrid, you know the dangers of the Forbidden Forest. My magic level is high, and I can help."
Hagrid initially wanted to reject Lynn, but when he thought of the evil creatures in the Forbidden Forest harming the unicorns, and Lynn could indeed be of great help, he finally agreed to let him stay.
"Alright, Mr. Rohr, follow me closely," Hagrid said.
Hagrid led everyone into the Forbidden Forest, explaining the situation along the way.
"Now, listen carefully. What we're doing tonight is very dangerous. I don't want anyone getting hurt. Look over there. Do you see that shiny thing on the ground? It's silver-white? That's the unicorn's blood!"
Hagrid pointed to a pool of blood on the ground, as white as moonlight.
Seeing the unicorn blood on the ground, a look of pity appeared in Irina's eyes.
Hagrid continued, "A unicorn in the Forbidden Forest was injured by something. It was severely wounded. This is the second time this week! I found one dead last Wednesday. We must try to find that poor unicorn and help it get rid of its pain!"
After walking for a while, Hagrid stopped.
"Now, we'll split into two groups. Hermione and Ron will be with me. Harry, Irina, and Mr. Rohr, you three will go together with Fang! If anyone finds the unicorn, shoot green sparks, and if you encounter trouble, shoot red sparks. Got it?"
Hagrid explained. Fang was the dog at Hagrid's feet.
From Irina's description, Hagrid knew that Lynn had a strong magical power, so he put Harry and Lynn together, hoping that Lynn could ensure Harry's safety in the Forbidden Forest.
Lynn and Irina had no objections, while Harry looked at Ron and Hermione. After the two nodded, Harry walked towards Lynn.
After watching Hagrid and the others leave, Lynn casually waved his wand, and dozens of metal blocks flew out from the bag where he had cast an undetectable extension charm, floating around him, moving up and down.
These metal blocks were his floating alchemical cannons. He had relied on these floating alchemical cannons to kill the trolls on Halloween.
"What are these?" Harry was surprised to see the floating alchemical cannons.
Irina, on the other hand, had sparkling eyes. She had witnessed how one of the floating alchemical cannons exploded the giant monster's head.
Lynn simply and concisely explained, "Alchemical weapons are used to deal with the dangers that may arise ahead."
Harry looked at Lynn with doubt before stepping closer.
The three of them, along with Fang, walked deeper into the Forbidden Forest. After walking for more than half an hour, they went further and further into the Forest.
The patches of unicorn blood on the ground became denser. Irina saw a lot of blood splattered on the roots of a twisted tree, as if the poor unicorn had fought desperately nearby.
At that moment, they all noticed an open space behind the tangled branches of an old oak tree.
The scene in the open space shocked them all.
They saw a pure white figure glowing on the ground. It was a unicorn. They had never seen such a beautiful creature, but it was already dead. Its long legs kept the same position as when it fell. Naturally, its white mane spread over the dark fallen leaves, as white as pearls.
Upon seeing this scene, both Lynn and Irina's hearts trembled simultaneously.
Obviously, there is only one kind of magic that can cause this kind of death, and that is one of the Unforgivable Curses: Avada Kedavra.
At the same time, there was a sliding sound, and a hooded figure appeared from the shadows in the distance. The owner of that figure slowly crawled across the ground like a wild beast.
The hooded figure approached the unicorn and lowered its head to suck the unicorn's blood from the wound on its side.
Seeing this scene, Harry and Irina quickly covered their mouths and looked at the sight with disbelief.
Upon witnessing such a sacred creature suffer such humiliation after being killed, Irina's eyes became slightly misty, and she seemed very angry.
Lynn saw a cold blue light flashing in Irina's left palm and felt the temperature around them drop.
But just when Irina was about to cast a freezing spell and sneakily attack the hooded figure, Lynn extended his hand to stop her and shook his head.
Under Irina's confused gaze, Lynn put his left hand in his pocket.
Immediately afterward, Irina was horrified to see Lynn take out something round and pineapple-shaped from his pocket.
"Damn it?! A grenade?!"
Irina stared at the senior Rohr beside her in horror.
Why does Senior Rohr have a grenade in his hand? This is completely unreasonable!
Under Irina's gaze, Lynn waved his wand to cast a silencing charm on the Mk2 grenade, then pulled the pin and tossed the Mk2 grenade in the direction of the hooded figure.
Since the silencing charm blocked the sound of the Mk2 grenade, and the grenade emitted no light like a magical spell, the hooded figure did not notice the grenade flying behind him.
In fact, if Voldemort's body had been present, he would have easily detected the grenade with the super perception of a high-level mage. Unfortunately, Voldemort was still a lingering soul, and the possessed Quirrell did not have such abilities.
They saw the Mk2 grenade land at the feet of the hooded figure, explode with a burst, and terrifying flames and shockwaves spread at lightning speed.
